Here's the trade we NEED!(Wonder if Blazers will hire me?)
Knicks sign Lee to 8.5M and Robinson to a 5.5 M,then trade to Blazers for Travis and Bayless. Portland stays just under cap, NY gets two players to replace the outgoing Lee and Robinson, plus keeping cap number low for LBJ in 2010. Would LOVE the energy both Lee and Nate would bring! Lee will get 25-30 minutes , Nate gets 20-25 minutes. Nate may be better coming off bench,Am I hired?

Ah, a Bayless lover!
Perhaps I shall be proven wrong on him. Definitely a hard worker, and GREAT intensity. Just don’t see him as strong PG in this league. If he stays, I will definitely be watching his passing skills this summer in Vegas. I don’t believe this team needs a scorer at the point, and we must see better D outta JB. With Nate, you get real high energy, and uber-athleticism. Knicks board says Nate mellowed some this last year (for the better). I’ve know doubt Brandon could keep him dialed in and focused on winning team basketball. Plus Brandon and Nate both like him!
I'm not a Byaless lover and......
YOUR FIRED!!!
You say that the Blazers dont need a scoring PG, but then you say we could use Nate Robinson? I’m confused by this, becasue what Nate is, is a scoring PG! I dont think either Lee or Nate fit our team. What we need now is a bonified starter at either the PG or SF positions, and some veteran role players. Lee and Nate are neither of these things.
Agreed
this trade is absolutely terrible for both teams.
David Lee is a monster in part because of the knicks system. Nate Robinson would be chained up in Portland. Further Portland would lose Bayless who may prove to be the best player involved in the trade, to acquire one talented backup PF. Why trade our SF who can play two positions, sf-pf, for a PF only when we don’t know if webster is healthy? Why trade Bayless for a much lower ceiling scoring PG?
Massively fired.
You get energy and uber-athleticism with Jerryd
Also about additional 8 inches. Okay, that sounded bad.

DCBlazerinPDX, you are the weakest link. Goodbye.
I kid, I kid. But I’m not big on your trade proposal. See Ggassen’s post for my reasoning why.
Gimmicks don't make dynasties
Maybe in bizzaro world
as much as Nate and Roy may “love” li’l Nate, he doesn’t shoot well enough (at least, against NBA teams other than Portland) and he’s a liability on defense
Don’t look at Lee like a perfect fit, look at him as the BPA and an asset that won’t drop in value and can always be flipped, later
(Of course, if something “unthinkable” were to happen to LMA, Greg or Joel…Lee might be a good guy to have around, in the meantime…)
When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
The people are feeding these stories to the press are agents
Agents agents agents.
Portland is not seriously considering either of these guys, they duplicate what we have and don’t bring what we need. Only they don’t defend as well as the guys we have doing what they do.
not all together
For eons it seems the NY post, NY times, NY whatever have been linking Lee to Portland. It makes no sense to pay 10m for a backup PF that will only get 10-15mpg. There are so many things wrong with it I do not want to even type all of them.
On the plus side of typing the reasons is that my GF is watching Bride War while I am on my laptop, but on the negative side, I have 3/4 a bottle of Charles Shaw in me and am feeling lazy on this 4th.
For some strange reason the NY media has been wanting to push Lee on us for some reason, but that is stupid.

Lee’s agent needs to drum up interest to raise his value. I don’t see why we’d bring in a starter-caliber PF at starter pay to play backup minutes. I don’t see it happening unless the braintrust is freaking out about lacking playmakers and wants to switch out ’billa for a balla.

I read somewhere
that Lee REALLY wants to play in Portland, because we’re up-and-comers, and he’s a NW native.
An Oregonian in Texas.
Nate Robinson is a very short SG
we don’t need that. We have a tall one in Roy who is completely superior.
And Lee would / should be very frustrated being a bench player.
put a body on 'em
Blazers need a back up POWER FORWARD
The Blazers still need a back up power forward and IMO Antonio McDyess is that player that they need at that spot. And McDyess is a very good Vet.
Mark ‘Dyess’ down for a double-double each night. After re-joining Detroit mid-season, the polite veteran posted a workmanlike 10 points and 10 rebounds per game. McDyess could replace Yao in Houston, where he, coincidentally, has his off-season home. But if KP can Make him an offer and let him know Portland is where he needs to be if he wants a RING. The Blazers need McDyess as their back up power forward/Center. And he won’t cost as much as Lee and IMO you get the same thing from both players.

Nate Robinson
would be the worst Blazers free agent signing ever. No D, chaotic offensive game and can’t/won’t pass. Good highlight reel material if no one is guarding himm but that’s it. I like David Lee but he does not fit with the current roster. Don’t spend the money just becuase you have it. The longer we wait, the more desperate the struggling franchises will be to unload salaries. That’s when we make our move(s).
