Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

He just posted this half an hour ago. Most interesting tidbit was "The Blazers have already turned to other things. The front office will direct its focus to making a financially lopsided trade for a small forward, and then to adding a backup power forward."

Tayshaun or Gerald would be pretty sweet. I guess KP likes him some Steve Blake.

And/Or

Some Jerryd Bayless.

Rex is a starter by the 2010 trade deadline. Watch.

Well, "Sarge" loves Steve Blake & K.P. loves Jerryd Bayless.

Cablinasian and I, however, love us some good ol’ Kirk Hinrich!

Hey

I like Kirk too.

Ok

I think that we posted this exact story on another post this after noon lol. I had (wrongly) said that I thought that Canzano would be yelling for Pritchard and Nates head’s on sticks in front of the rose garden. Stopped jsut short of that. I hope Canzano chokes on a chicken bone and dies a slow, painful, live death in the blazers first game.

But all of that would have been moot had: A) the Blazers had about $5 million more in salary-cap room; or B) done a better job of making this an emotional decision for Turkoglu. There was a high degree of difficulty on this one, and the Blazers knew that. But if you’re knocking this region, you need to do some traveling.

What's the differance of 3-6 mil? oh about 20+ more losses, and the chance to watch the only star leave by the end of the season. Suck it Hedo!

Canzano is a damn joke. When you see him kick him in the ass for me!

I hope Canzano chokes on a chicken bone

You see, that’s why we shouldn’t want a trade for Cap’n Kirk

Because when Canzona starts to gag, you won’t want anyone around the RG who knows how to perform the “Hinrich” maneuver

“I got a million of ’em” — the late great Jimmy Durante

When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!

I like how he jacked Dave's picture

Look...I love Trevor Ariza....But $32-$40 million?!? That better be a 16-year contract. --Dave

If I have 50 mil

I wouldn’t want to live here.

if I have 50 mil

it doesn’t matter where I live

The Blazers as a whole are far more like my wife than like me in the sense of their physicality on defense.

Why are we focusing on acquiring another SF?

Last I checked, Batum did pretty well for a 19 year old, he has the potential to be another Tashaun Prince – backup PF and starting PG are much bigger holes. Unless KP can land Prince, Butler, or Granger without giving up Nic or Rudy, I don’t see a lopsided trade for a SF that makes sense for this team. Even if you believe in Bayless (and I do), it would be nice to have an upgrade over Blake for the next season or two until Bayless is ready to assume the starting job.

Edit - I meant "both Nic and Rudy"

and even that I would consider for Granger. But I don’t see that deal out here, making this focus on a SF all the more confusing

This offseason has gotten so boring so fast

"shaq and zach randolph have the same trainer... "

best one liner i ever heard.

I hope KP doesn't fall in love with Luol Deng and his "even worse than Hedo's offer"-contract

If you want to trade our spare parts for Devin Harris, I have three quarters I would like to trade for your dollar

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
