Monty Williams might be a top candidate for Wolves
The Portland assistant coach believes he is ready to lead a team, and the Timberwolves could be just the right fit.

cool
does this mean we can finally get a big man coach? roster spot available!
The Blazers as a whole are far more like my wife than like me in the sense of their physicality on defense.

Hire Brian Grant.
If he wants to do it.
Cool for Monty though, I wish him well if he gets the job.

I wonder........
How much it will slow down Batum’s development if Monty leaves. He seemed to work wonders with Travis, and you could notice the improvement with Batum’s offense as the season wore on. Still, I wish him the best and hope that he gets the job. He certainly deserves it.

I've always questioned the coaches who supposedly have helped TO reach this level
First it was Tim Grgurich who supposedly taught TO everything, now Monty is getting the credit? TO is one of the most maddening players I’ve ever cheered for thanks to his on the court antics. is his jump shot better? sure…I would hope after 6 years of working with ANY coach it would improve. Defense? questionable. Decision making? worse than our rookies Rudy and Batum. Rebounding? no. Passing? no. Ball handling? staying in shape in the offseason? look, theres a reason this guy is the only player who regularly fails coach Nate’s annual fitness test in training camp. whoever has worked with this guy just can’t light a fire under his ass. not saying monty is a bad coach because I would like to keep him. I just don’t know how much credit he should get for player development. especially regarding mr. outlaw

Tom Thibodeau, baby
Make him the highest-paid assistant coach in NBA history, Mr. Allen
(but the fact that we’re not hearing about TT interviewing for any of these HC vacancies tells me that David Stern told him to “just sit tight” in Boston until Phil Jackson retires)
“The NBA, where looking out for the big market teams…happens”
When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!

I think we don't go out and get top assistants cause KP doesn't wanna step on nate's toes
and he’s the guy who makes the decisions on his staff (as he should). unfortunately, that means nate wouldn’t want to go out and hire a guy that might look better than him (think ernie kent right now).
