How going after Lee makes sense
Link is to story about our interest.
I think if we make a move for Lee it will be as the 3rd team facilitating a 3 way S&T where we get a player from the team that wants Lee and NY doesn't have to take salary back.
That way, Lee gets paid, NY may get something, and we get the mystery player.
Now, the question is who wants David Lee and what could we get from them?

Here is a list of teams that could want Lee and who we might want.
Charolotte (Wallace, Diaw, Augustin)
Chicago (Kirk, Tyrus,)
Cleveland (Nobody )
Denver (Kleiza, JR Smith, Ty Lawson)
Indiana (Nobody)
Miami (Haslem)
Milwuakee (Sessions, Johnson)
New Jersey (Harris, TWill, Courney Lee)
New Orleans (Julian Wright?)
OKC (Jeff Green, Thabo)
Orlando (Peitrus, rights to Vasquez)
Phoenix (Barnes, Clark, Richardson, Hill, Barbosa)
San Antonio (Roger Mason Jr. Rights to Tiago Splitter)
Also, we may be able to get Wilson Chandler from NY if we were facilitating, say, an Amare’ to NY deal.
P.S. Add picks as needed

G Walllace, Kirk, Harris, Sessions
Question: Isnt Tyrus Thomas just a little bit thicker version of travis outlaw?

Not really.
He a terrible shooter and a terrific defender. He’s sort of like the anti-Travis.

I'd love Devin Harris
but after reading Bartelstein (Lee’s agent) talk about how difficult it will be to do a S&T with a BYC player like David, I’m not holding my breath. More likely KP’s just going to put a contract togehter that Donnie Walsh (Knick’s GM) can’t match, then trade Travis and let Nate shoehorn Lee into the rotation
Hell knows no fury like a spurned general manager…

Diaw's got great potential but plays far below his level most of the time
He’s a fattter, shorter Lamar Odom.

I'd like Gallinari from NY
…he’s Young Hedo (provided his back isn’t permanently shot).
OKC can just sign Lee outright, can’t they?

Hmmmm.
Absolutely NO to Gallinari…He’s young w/ potential, just get lost with Batum and Webster.
I think that going after OKC’s Jeff Green is DEFINITELY the move. He is big, plays smart, can score, handle the ball, and shoot. ALSO, he plays PF for them now (the he is quite obviously a SF…stupid OKC tries everyone out of position), so he should be able to sufficiently play the 10-13 minutes that Aldridge is on the Bench.

Maybe Gallinari, but...

O, you forgot to add Minnesota and Rubio, long shot considering Love is there, but you never know with them.

Why not sign Milsap...
and then try and move Joel. The team gets a little younger and better. A three man rotation of Oden, Aldridge, and Milsap is super flexible and probably better overall.

Utah wants to keep Milsap and will probably match any offer we'd come up with
As soon as we make an offer, that cap space is locked up until 7/15, at which point the Jazz could match and we’d be out of luck. We’d have to end up paying a starters salary for a 6’8" backup PF, playing 10 minutes a night.

He would be a PF/C backup playing 36 minutes a night.
Assuming Joel gets moved.
