Shawn Marion
Thank the Gods we didn't sign Hedo Turkoglu. I only see negative from this guy. All about the money. No allegiance. And had ONE good post season. Consistency over time, not some break out, potential short run.
Maybe this happened, because the genius in Kevin Pritchard, set this all in motion, to get who he really wanted: Shawn Marion. Teams do like to up the ante, when they know another team is heavily interested. Toronto was known to be very interested in Turkoglu. Portland surely knew that they would have to renounce Marion and others, to sign Turk. And what happened? Just that. And who is available and fit our system much better, much cheaper, and a seasoned veteran who will help us in the short and long run? Marion. KP may really be a Wizard, waving his wand.

Marion?
Maybe…..not sure about his level of play. He fell off steeply last year and im honestly not sure why. Maybe someone out there could enlighten us as to why he declined so rapidly. But if we could get him on the cheap he would be a good option. Marvin Williams is still my ideal signing now.

He played for the Raptors
that’s why.

He is getting old
It isn’t just last year, Marion’s production has declined for 3 years in a row now. He seems like a classic case of a player who has always depended on his impressive athleticism and doesn’t know how to adjust now that that athleticism is starting to fade.

D'Antoni
He played for the Suns when D’Antoni was the coach. D’Antoni’s system inflates numbers and won Nash a couple of MVPs and is gonna get David Lee paid this summer (by the Blazers???). It’s really that simple…

If you thought turk was a jerk

Nah
The reason he got thrown out of Phoenix was because of the immense selfishness of one Amare Stoudamire.

He didn't get thrown out, he demanded a trade
Marion is another player whose own perception of his worth far exceeds his actual value.
He wants to be the face of a franchise. He has still not figured out that’s not going to happen.

He demanded a trade because
Amare demanded more scoring opportunities, and the organization sided with him, so Marion would rather have been anywhere but Phoenix.

Marion??
Pages have been written about why he is not a good fit for us.

No thanks
I had the same thought—but if KP wanted the Matrix, he had several chances to try for his services. And he could have simply made him an offer; it’s not like Toronto was going to get into a bidding war for Marion.

Option five: PLEASE GOD NO
But seriously, the only reason he was ever good was playing in a light-speed offense

He can't create for himself
The most important player this team needs isn’t a PG or a PF or a SF, it’s a guy that can create for himself so that opposing teams can’t just shut Roy down.
Marion needs to be fed shots to be successful. He also duplicates the abilities of our deepest position and has a me-first ’tude.

It's business
Who can blame Hedo? He did what most anybody would do. He took the money. The Final numbers aren’t even out yet but if it’s $5 mil. more. IT’S 5 MIL!!! I wish I couldn’t get one a year. Let alone 60+ for 6 years. He’s apparently not to interested in championship contention and a promising young team but who can blame him? In a profession where the wrong turn of an ankle is the end of your career I don’t know who wouldn’t take more money. Especially with it probably being the last contract of his career. Anyways, I have no hard feelings. Business came out.

I don't think that Hedo went to Toronto
for the money, Apparently the difference was only a couple million dollars. It was his wife’s preference to live in Toronto.
Anyway Marion is a good idea but he can’t really play SF anymore and so would he be comfortable playing 10-15 minutes a game behind LMA? I doubt it.

The final numbers will prove you wrong
Also, it’s nearly always about the money in free agency.
