Just like Turkoglu not signing with the Blazers.
Outlaw is probably quite happy right now. (along with Rudy, Batum, and Webster)

Set him free, KP
Outlaw is candid about the fact that he dreams of being an NBA starter, and one of the big name players fans talk about. He says it really doesn’t matter to him which team that happens on. “I definitely want to play more,” he says. “I definitely want to get to a place in my career where I’m a starter. I also do want to win. But I could play anywhere in any system, as long as they have a winning mentality.”

What's he supposed to say?
Should he cry about leaving his friends and the basketball family he thought loved him?

what I meant to say was
If Outlaw’s goal is to “play more” and be “a starter”? He needs to find a new team, asap
(Because it sure as heck isn’t gonna happen for him in Portland. Hedo or no Hedo)
Travis is a nice kid. But he’s starting to sound like Sergio, just with a southern drawl. He made similar comments to Quick last summer, then Martell broke his foot and the starting job was “handed” to Travis on a silver platter. But he froze up and Batum had to bail him out
The Turkish defection changes nothing re: Outlaw’s status with the Blazers. He’s not a keeper

And what's he working on?
Shooting, and swimming. Not on any other basketball skills? Great players work on a different aspect of their game during every offseason to improve their skillset. But all Travis is doing is shooting (the thing he likes to do best) and swimming (which can help his conditioning, I suppose, but not much else…)
Enough said

article didnt say anything bout his off season work out come on BE give the guy a break
WHY IS EVERYONE THROWING BAYLESS AND OUTLAW UNDER THE BUS ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
The Blazers will play beautiful basketball.
Brandon will shoot the lights out. Blake will run and LMA will finish strong at the hoop. Bayless will play because we’ll be so far ahead in the 4th quarter, giving all the Jerryd fans something to smile about.
But wait, that’s not all. Rudy will go 5 of 5 from distance. Batum will posterize someone. And Channing will NOT lead the team in points.

Steve Nash plays a bunch of soccer in the offseason
Even the best players need to take a break from the game sometimes so that they don’t lose their passion for it.

Travis is still Travis
Casey Holdhal said that the whole Carmelo Anthony and fifiteen shots a game was just a joke that wasn’t supposed to be taken seriously. As for here, of course he wants to get more minutes. Every player fights for it. The more ambitious Travis Outlaw is the harder he’ll work for his goals. I don’t think this is so much complaining about the team as it is just saying that he has plans to become a better player.
The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

Isn't that what every non starter says?
I think every player that isn’t a stars goal is to be a starter and play more minutes. I’ve never heard someone say they didn’t want to play more and wants to be on the bench. What would we think of him then? That he doesn’t really care.
Travis Outlaw fan from the beginning.

Dear Travis,
I’m sorry that for all of these weeks since the playoffs ended I mentally put you on the chopping block (especially when Hedo came calling). But now I see that you are an integal part of this Blazer team with your sportsmanship and great attitude toward the Blazers and toward Portland. How could I forget all those times you hit the game winning shot?? You are Mr. 4th quarter. Next year I look forward to seeing you in a Blazer uniform again——Hopefully with better ball handling skills and more passing and more rebounding and BB IQ. Thank you for being so cool. We need people like you on our team, especially since no one wants to come to our podunk town to play basketball. Thank you and have a good summer.

Marion "complainer", "selfish"

Give Marion the role we WERE going to give Hedo & we will be much better off.
Patience :)

random
but…omg…Travis Outlaw friended me on facebook. That’s better than Greg Oden who refused to do so on his myspace…hahaha. In other words, I’m a horrible fan that refuses to give the Blazers any sort of private life.

Travis is Happy Being Travis
Nice for him .. I guess. Only a little nice for us, though.
I wonder why don’t the team coaches work with him in the summer? Is he lazy? Does he want time away? He will get plenty of time away in a 8-10 years. It’s really frustrating watching a unique talent not develop enough of an all-around game to stay on the court extended minutes.
Travis’ D is completely embarrassing. He is in complete denial of his ineffectiveness, whether it is in the post (he has virtually no post D except the recovery block) or on the perimeter (oh, you were on THAT side of the court).
Whoever his agent is should catch a clue. If Travis could just D up, his value and contract would go through the roof.
Wow this is frustrating.

Blazers needs? The Blazers still need a back up power forward and IMO Antonio McDyess is that player that they need at that spot. And McDyess is a very good Vet.
Mark ‘Dyess’ down for a double-double each night. After re-joining Detroit mid-season, the polite veteran posted a workmanlike 10 points and 10 rebounds per game. McDyess could replace Yao in Houston, where he, coincidentally, has his off-season home. But if KP can Make him an offer and let him know Portland is where he needs to be if he wants a RING. The Blazers need McDyess as their back up power forward/Center. And he won’t cost as much as Lee and IMO you get the same thing from both players. And I like D.Harris better then A.Miller and that just MO
