Webster and Bayless for Miller
To me it seems that the next move would be for a sign and trade deal with Philadelphia to get andre miller. Any set of pieces would do but I think a Webster and Bayless trade would get us enough under the cap to make Miller work here. You could also do a Blake and Batum trade. Although i think that Philly is trying to loosen its belt so I dont know how the extra salaries would work for them.

I believe bayless can be the third best player on this team in two seasons
he shouldn’t be traded unless its for a young all-star like Devin Harris. Of course, we’d need to include far more than bayless in that deal. Just sayin, no way would I give him up for miller straight up, let alone with other players included.
Bring back the Uncle Cliffy!
Let's Be Clear
We don’t need Andre Miller. We already have a 30+ yr old that is slow on defense.

Acquiring Miller makes us the Warriors on defense.
With a bizarro-Warrior offense.

How so?
I’m not the biggest fan of Miller, but despite his size he is a true PG and not a converted SG like the point guards the Warriors mostly employed in the last years (Baron Davis is a combo). He posts smaller players up, which is unusual for a PG. He is good on drive and dishes. The only real knock on him is his inability to defend picks and his outside shot.
Miller is my pick if we get a PG
Assuming Harris, Parker and Billups aren’t gettable.
But no one would take Webster unless his foot is healed and he shows it in games. And Bayless is an odd throw-in. I would think Trout and X for Miller.
I was reading somewhere today
That the Blazers are only interested in players who can shoot the ball. And that makes sense, considering the rest of their personnel
Andre Miller is a good PG, but outside shooting is definitely not one of his strengths
pass
Travis Outlaw for Keyon Dooling (40% 3pt) is a more modest deal, KP is looking for a 3rd PG

I meant we would play dang slow.
But mostly, I’m just pulling stuff out of my patookus.

No thank you.
Miller was a possibility before Hedo, not now.
Miller does not play off the ball. Hedo and Roy can both do so to an extent, but you want one of those guys being a playmaker. Miller would be a waste to have in Portland. We’re better off with Blake as a shooter.
Miller would take our offense down a notch, which makes the Hedo signing pointless imo. And he would certainly do nothing to improve our D.
We don't need him
Just let Jerryd play with Broy-Hedo-LMA-Greg and we will all be happy.
If he gets his jumper to an appropriate level of course

pre-Hedo, I was ok with Miller, though he was my 4th or 5th option at PG
now, it makes zero sense to spend another 10 million on a PG who is neither a good defender or a good 3 point shooter.
How did you guys win that?

hinrich
4 outlaw + blake…kneel to the darkside…it is inevitable.
I have my P.h.D in unreliable hyperbole.
Would do this in a heartbeat.
Picking up Turk makes Hinrich look like an even better fit than before.
I agree.
Although I have read many statements from people who follow Hedo that he is a very underrated defender, I’m not convinced. While I am starting to like the idea of Hedo more and more (shooting, passing, big-man development assistance) I believe now (assuming we do indeed sign Hedo) more than ever we need a defensive minded point guard who can get to the rim and put defending pg’s on their heels and tire them out.
"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."
?
He’s shot over 40% a few times. He’s a good 3 point shooter.
He isn’t a great penetrator, but better than Blake is— which, in general, describes Hinrich on offense. He does what Blake does, better. Mid range better, gets to the line more (but not a ton), can hit open shots the same as Blake…
If we got Hinrich, it’d be because of his defense and that he is similar to Blake on offense.

38% for his career
40% last year
That’s pretty dang good. The problem is, I don’t knwo that the Bulls will be willing to part with him unless Rudy is in the deal. And that’s a non-starter from Portland’s perspective

Outlaw/Blake alone won't be enough...
Now that Gordon looks to have signed with Detroit, the Bulls can take advantage of a team seeking Hinrich’s services.

nice name
however the bulls want to move hinrich because of his salary cap number. They hope to lure in Wade next year, and i dont think there are any other suitors for hinrich

We have a ton of expiring deals - keeping Kirk won't prevent a max free agent
If there’s actually one available next year.

are you going to be over the cap this year?

Over the salary cap, but under the luxury tax
unless it’s much lower than people are anticipating. Any trade for Kirk isn’t going to get us under the cap this year. It could (obviously) free up room to use more of the MLE and stay under the tax, but we’d need that for an SG then and I’m not convinced we could get anyone better than Kirk. That’s why you have people over at Blogabull now talking about doing the trade for Blake and Rudy, with the idea that Rudy would be the starting SG once John Salmons (presumably) opts out after next season. On your guys’ end, trading Rudy sounds like an absolute no deal, of course.
IMO (and I have no inside sources, so take it for what it’s worth), I’d be really surprised if the Bulls move Kirk this year to free up more cap space next year. I think they’re looking at being competitive this season plus having room for a max free agent if they can get one next year. I can see that changing midseason if it turns out the Bulls are flat out not competitive as constructed.

yuck
i really dont want miller.. he cant shoot and quite frankly that is a pre-requisite to play for the Blazers.

With Hedo in the mix
I’d like to see us try to go after Rondo. He rebounds and plays excellent defense.
Again, Rajon is not a shooter, and the Blazers want to keep adding shooters
Besides, the asking price woud be ’way too high, and from recent reports Rondo is a “negative” as a teammate

It's definately NOT Miller time...
I didn’t want him before Hedo and absolutely don’t see the need for him if/when we get Hedo. He is not a defender… he’s is not a shooter… he’s old for a PG… he’s never been a winner anywhere he’s gone and he’s an actual PG type that needs the ball to be effective.
Couldn’t be a worse fit in my opinion.
What a horrrrrrrible deal !!!
As Big Bill would say !! BRex and 3M will be key parts
in our championship run !!
It's GO time !
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
I would never put Bayless in a deal for Miller. He’s 20 and has all the potential in the world. He may not fulfill it, but I’d like to find out.
