Seattle-Area Bedge Meetup and New Podcast
I'll have some thoughts and quotes from Andre Miller's Press Conference up at some point in the near future. But, first, two pieces of fun news.
Long time friend of Blazersedge, Basketball Prospectus's Kevin Pelton, aka The Infamous KP2, works for the WNBA's Seattle Storm. Kevin suggested awhile back that we use a Storm game as a meetup for Seattle-area Bedgers and Portland/SW Washington Bedgers looking for a summer getaway to Seattle.
The time has come: on August 8, the Seattle Storm host the New York Liberty at KeyArena. I'll be headed up to Seattle for the weekend and KP2 will join us for some Queen Anne Hill gallivanting after the game. As a bonus, if you're looking to make a full weekend out of it (like I am), the Mariners play at Safeco on Sunday afternoon. Sweet. For full details about the events, including how to get discounted tickets to the Storm game, click here.
Everyone, except creepers, is welcome to join us!
The second piece of exciting news: KP2 and I are teaming up to do a new podcast. There will obviously be a heavy Blazers focus but we will also be talking general NBA stuff, sports media stuff, stat stuff, random stuff, whatever.
Topics for the first episode (which was recorded Monday afternoon): Andre Miller, Greg Oden, and the 2012 Olympic team. KP2 also explains what it's store for me during my first WNBA game and breaks down whether Sue Bird could beat Sergio Rodriguez 1 on 1. Right click to download the Blazersedge and KP2 Podcast. The file is an mp3, roughly 45 megabytes and runs just under 50 minutes. Advisory: podcast contains some barely explicit language and some PG-13 music.

Tell me about it.
I had my bags all packed and then I saw the no creeper disclaimer. I’ll show up and do what I do here: sit a few feet away from the group and occasionally force my way into conversations but mainly just listen.

Line of the Show...
Ben: “Would you say that Sergio and Sean May have the potential to be the next John Stockton and Karl Malone next year?”
KP2: (laughs) “I don’t even know how to respond to that… First of all I’m counting on Sergio and Jon Brockman as a premier duo. Maybe Jon Brockma can rebound Sergio’s misses…”

Any plans for a pre-event or post-event pub meetup?
"whoever scores the most points is probably gonna win the game"
huh.
So…. what happened here? Was there a group meeting which I missed? I showed up and didn’t see much of a turnout.
I really appreciate you making the effort to organize a Seattle-area Blazer gathering, but have to admit to being “underwhelmed” (Jason Quick-style) to the actual planning and execution.
I do hope to convene a gathering of Seattle-area Blazer fans at some point!
