What do we do here?!?!?
As you may know Chaning Frye is gone. So who's our LAGITEMIT back up PF
Chaning was at the Casino the other day and I was talking to him. He says hell miss portland, and he wishes us luck.
But im here to talk about someting a little more serious. Who is our back up PF, I think Cunningham has potential but hes not good enough YET. So seriously Portland better get their butts in gear because we need a backup PF. I supose Pryz could do it but I dont like that idea

Right now
it’s Outlaw, with the two rookies ready to go in if we need a different look.
How did you guys win that?
"We scored enough points. We scored 107, they scored 105.

Here is KPs reply:
Are you looking for backup power forwards?
I think we’ve found a couple of guys in Summer League who can play that position. Dante and Jeff both had really good Summer Leagues so you’re looking at 15 minutes a game at that position. Nate is so comfortable with Travis going to that Power Forward and being that spread Power Forward. That’s been successful for us because it lets us get easy shots and that’s why we were one of the most efficient offensive teams. You can never have too many bigs. We’ll watch that. We’ll see what guys get waived, or trades, or all those kinds of things. We’re comfortable going into the season with what we have.
I think that sums it up—Trav can and does play PF.

do you honestly need an experienced backup pf?
channing didn’t get many minutes anyways. Between Pryz, Greg, LMA, and a 1/2 time Trout that should basically cover most of the minutes at the 4 and 5, Pendergraph could just fill in for mop up minutes. There are certain positions that experience is a necessity I feel…however backup PF isn’t one of em. I just want my backup PF to hustle and to sacrifice his body when he’s out there.

I agree for this season.
Plus, even with Channing in, we would almost always start losing the game. The other way to look at it is that LMA is just that good.
Outlaw is the only reasonable option we have at the moment.

I agree however it's only a problem if Lma goes down for significant time
Frye was insurance against an extended injury to Lma. Lma proved he could be healthy a full season. Trout is now our insurance plan, or rather our stop gap until we bring in someone else if Lma goes down. If Lma gets hurt early in the season, Surely KP will be calling Joe Smith’s agent immediately.

What if Smith has already been signed by another team, before training camp?
I’m not going to go into a whole lot of detail (again) but anyone who saw the Rocket’s series should know by now that Outlaw is not a backup power forward on a playoff team. I’m “OK” with the idea of starting the season with Travis on the roster (since the Blazers haven’t gotten the right offer for a “beast PF” in exchange for Outlaw’s expiring contract, yet) but I’m hopeful that by the trading deadline a “consolidation deal” will have been made to move a SF (or two) and to bring in another veteran big man for the post season, and for 4/5 injury insurance.
It’s not just “who would play PF if LMA gets hurt?” It’s also “what happens if Greg or Joel get hurt. again?” If your answer is “well, we’ll just slide LMA to the 5 and play Trout at the 4 and use a small lineup” then I’ve got news for ya…that’s not gonna get it done for a long stretch of games, and especially not in the playoffs.
So, a veteran PF/C should be added before the clock strikes “12” at the trading deadline. It’s like an American Express card—don’t leave the regular season with only 3 big men and count on a couple of rookies and wings to get you rebounds and defend the paint!
When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
Holy crap, what a terrible poll.
1. Outlaw
2. Pendergraph
3. Cunningham
4. Someone not on team yet

Outlaw/Oden/Pendegraph
Outlaw will be the main backup 4, but depending on look and matchups we will probably see spot minutes for Pendegraph and Oden at the 4.
I think your right but doubtful ODEN plays any 4

I prefer Marmite!
Anyone else tried it?
I started eating it in Zimbabwe – I think it is British?

Thanks!
If only the OP had used Vegemite I wouldn’t have looked silly by getting the lyrics wrong.
You are wonderful.
