Starting PG Poll
It looks like Andre Miller will be the newest Blazer.
I think Miller will be a great addition to the Blazers. He is a pass first, shoot second type of pg, yet he still averages some pretty good numbers. Alot of people have been arguing in the comments whether or not he will be a good fit for the Blazers, but I think he has enough Veteran savvy to do what he needs to do to be a successful Blazer.
With that being said, the other main argument I see in the comments is whether or not Miller should be our starting pg over Blake. I think Blake should start, until Miller proves otherwise. It all comes down to who fits what unit better. If Miller is a better fit with the 2nd unit, then he should come off the bench, but if he is better with the first unit he should start. Right now, Blake is our starter, but all could change after training camp.
So with all that being said, heres the poll:

I agree
It will come down to which player fits with which rotation. Personally, I think that Miller fits better with the second rotation, where he can be one of the primary scorers, and Blake fits better with our starting squad because he can spread the floor with his 3 point shooting.
I’m not a huge fan of Miller, but I think that if Nate can use Steve and Andre in a Situational rotation, it could give us some good options, and flexability to both address last season’s weaknesses, but to also cause matchup issues with our opponents.

I don't think it matters at all who starts....
as long as Blake is in there in the 4th when Roy is running the show. When Roy is running the offense we need shooters in the game. Maybe Miller will start… really doesn’t matter.
Will Blake be in the game during crunch time?
I see a Roy,Rudy,Martell,LMA,GO lineup in crunch time
The NBA: Where amazingly bad officiating happens, is encouraged, and rewarded.
i like that lineup
roy, rudy, martel, LA, and GO would be a money lineup offensively for the blazers. 2 great 3 point shooters around roy to spread the court, LA either posting up or being able to hit a jumper, and GO in there around the basket for offensive rebounds and dish offs from roy. that would be tough to stop in the 4th quarter. as for the full court press, nobody in the nba uses a full-on full court press, and i trust roy to bring the ball up against one man pressure.

I would love starting roy, rudy, martell, lamarcus, and oden but..
We would have three excellent three point shooters and if we are extremely lucky then four when lamarcus starts raining those threes like he does at practice.

starting SF could determine starting PG or vice-versa
If Batum starts, I like Blake at the point, If Webster starts, I like Miller.
I guess the reverse is equally true

geez this quote gets me drooling---thanks REP!
think about the lobs going to Oden especially but also Rudy, LMA, BROY
So Miller takes away Blake’s outside shooting, for a stretch. He also scores better, passes better, doesn’t turn it over (both Miller and Blake are tremendous assist-to-turnover types), and is one of the best lob tossers of the last 20 years. Because I’m a blogger, I think the lob was created in 1989.

KP isn't paying 7 million a year for a guy to replace Sergio.
He was signed to be the starting point. While they will say it will come down to battle in training camp and a “fit”, its Dre’s job to lose.

maybe
training camp will surely decide—-Istill think Blake will start

Miller and Blake will contribute to the team equally.
And if either one goes down for any extended period of time – it assures us that Jerryd Bayless won’t be the starting PG out of necessity.
I’m going to withhold my vote until I hear Coach Nate;s observations in training camp. :p

Miller will play more minutes. He's simply a better basketball player than Blake.
I don’t much care who starts. Its about who plays more.
Miller will be in the game when it really matters.
Like jk said miller is flat out a better player. He may not start due to lineup factors, but he will play more and in crunch time. Hopefully for rudys sake he will find himself playin with miller a lot so he can get his lobs.
either way i think
both andre and blake will get significant minutes, say like 15 to 20 each, and bayless might get a run for 5-10 each game, like at the end of quarters or something.
but its hard to say now, gotta wait for pre season camp to start to get an idea of how andre miller plays with the guys, and where he is best suited
