BEdge Summer Ball Part III...July 28th or 30th????
Watup buttercups!!!
I was gonna make a fanshot but needed poll functionality.
After last week's open scrimmage (or lame attempt at playing organized basketball), BEdgers are asking for more...16 of us showed up and none of us got injured or sent to the hospital...(BlazerFan1 now wants to take the courts to participate in the high caliber play)
Considering this week is a bit too hot for bball outside, I'm thinking next Tuesday the 28th or Thursday the 30th might be a good time...6-8pm. Please comment on which day works best and if we can count you in.
We'll figure out a bball court that doesn't include human obstacles or little thieves running around. Oregon Park, or EvilK mentioned a court on 49th and Belmont are options. We need to find a central location for both Westside and Eastside folks. Downtown has a couple courts but they are usually packed.
I'll delete this post once we figure out the best day to play, and then create a fanshot as a reminder.
Wrecks for Effects.
Stay cool,

if the sun setting was bad
the court at 49th and belmont will be just as bad
the court here runs north to south, so it wouldn't be in your eye unless you were shooting from the corner

I drove past Powell park last night at 6 and the entire park was empty… not saying we should give it another shot, just saying we had horrible luck

Whenever I pass by Powell, there's usually some teenagers out there.
So hard to think of places where people don’t play at… I usually avoid those.
Irving park on NE Fremont and 7th has three full-sized courts, and two of the three can also be split into two half-length full courts. Usually there is a fair amount of people there, but rarely enough to take over the whole place.
Sellwood park is often empty, but there’s only one court, so if people are there you have to share.

And I've rarely seen anyone at Westmoreland park too.
But there’s only one court there too.

Like, that's like a red flag
Like, throw in some like, “as wells” I like, always get the to and too like mixed up so I like always remember to and as well, but that’s like just me.
Why not just rent one of the community centers courts
between 15 people it would be like 3 dollars each then you wouldn’t have to worry about other people getting in your way, I know Montavilla rents theirs (82nd Glisan) for like 30 or 40 dollars
Draft Cole Aldrich 2010
i'd be ok with that
indoors wouldnt be bad.

School gym
I know this might not work because of some distance issues, but I have access to a School gym in Wilsonville that we can do whatever with. I just need a little heads up to get an OK and make sure no one else is using it at that time.
But that can be a plan for another time when we play Portland BEdgers vs Salem BEdgers game :)

You have enough Salem Bedgers?

I’ll be there next time.
Just don’t expect any Darko like heroics. I am Serbian , but cursing out refs and daughters or ripping jersey is out of question…..
I'm in
If we can do it on Tuesday, thats my day off. And the court location doesn’t really matter, i’ll be maxing it from beaverton.

Why does it have to be in Portland :(
I’m sad. We need more BEdgers down here in Southern Oregon

What is the skill level?
What is the highest level of basketball you guys have played?
I’ve been looking for some pickup games, and I consider myself an OK player, but I don’t want to show up and get completely destroyed by some 6’8" former Division 1 ballers.
I played rec basically my whole life. City league in high school, IM bball at OSU… Never played varsity.
might get worked by posse
GUY HAS some handles.. and a crazy way to get all the boards.
"Awesome! Totally awesome! All right, Hamilton!"
you obviously didn't see the liveblogging JD from the last BE pick up game
"It’s a good ol’ fashioned Rip City beat down!"

"Awesome! Totally awesome! All right, Hamilton!"
hahaha, don't worry about it Royalty...
Sophia was liveblogging and loves to give me ‘ish…if i don’t swish it, it’s an airball in her books…the only thing she likes to do is punch me in the arms…
see ya in the mornin! don’t skip out this time!
Go Blazers!!!!!!!!!! Wooooooooooot Wooooooooooooot!!!!!!!!!
I usually play at Irving Park
Its got a covered court that almost no one uses, most of the pick-up games happen in the uncovered areas. There’s generally about 1 game going on at all times, and during the week, at least one of the courts are generally open. No guarantees, but I’ve always been able to get either in a game, or have a court to start a game.
