Potential future PG starter
Just to clarify, I am a New Orleans Hornets fan. But I also happen to live in Australia and I congradulate all Blazer fans on getting Patty Mills. I am Australian so yes I have some bias, but watching Patty in the Olympics tear up team USA then betting some of the top rated PG's in the collegiate game made me wonder why he fell into the second round. But you guys truly have a Point guard of the future.
First off he has speed. I am quite sure you all know that but he has speed which he can use on both ends of the floor. I think if you can develop him he could develop into a back up for Steve Blake and eventually replace him. Please trust me on this, I really wish you guys to win a championship, but on one condition. That Patty is playing, embrace him because everyone in Australia wants him to succeed more than Andrew Bogut.

Blake isn't necessarily the one in his way
Bayless is.

I don´t want him!
There´s a rumour on SPYM about Patty Mills being Spaniard.
He could have gone there from Spain and his real name was Patricio Molinos.
More seriously, he seems to be a very good prospect. I also wonder why he felt in the draft. Lucky Blazers. Does he have a nickname yet?

Two possible answers to that one
“Squishy” or “With his hand”

If Sessions or Harris is the target...correct
Otherwise, what is the point of giving up pieces to get the likes of AMiller, JKidd, SNash?

We'll see how he does in camp
He’s not a lock to get a contract. None of our second round picks are.

Sorry but no..
While Patty Mills certainly suprised people in the Olympics, his performance does not catapult him into super stardom like you’re implying. Players in the NBA need to adjust just like players in baseball adjust to pitchers they’ve never seen before. Sometimes a guy’s quickness can really cause problems. But once a good point guard adjusts, I can’t imagine Mills running circles around a guy like Chris Paul, Devin Harris or half a dozen more starting point guards in this league.
Mills is very short (6’0" compared to Bayless at 6’3") and seems to look for his own shot rather than creating for teammates. In a recent Reebok game (2-3 weeks ago) many NBA scouts were doubtful that he could play point guard in this league. We already have one shoot first point guard in Bayless. The question remains, do you believe Mills is better than Bayless? We’ll get a chance to see in summer league. Only a couple of short weeks away.

Yeah Those Little PG's...
suck.
Houston should drop Aaron Brooks like a rock.

Um . . . they almost did
Houston just tried to trade Aaron Brooks to Memphis last week but the deal fell through.
But I’m not arguing your point, I think small point guards can be very effective.

This I did not know!
Huh, I wonder if it was because Brooks stock was so high and lightening fast smaller point guards are the rage?

Brooks is a lot like Mighty Mouse
he is either the hero or the goat… no in between.

Hmm...
I didn’t think that all PG’s had to be Deron Williams to qualify as decent Point Guards in the NBA. Sure Patty is small, but hes quick and versatile plus he reminds me of Tony Parker.
3 inches isn’t that big a deal, nor is Bayless that good a player.

sorry but yes
your saying oh cause he had one gud performance that doesnt catapult him into superstardom how many times do you see nobodies in the nba have nuts games and everyone is going on about them like daniel gibson sure it was in the eastern conference finals but he had done nothing in his career until then he has a break out game against a tough opposition in detroit and wins the game and the series for his team
now lets look at patty he is 19 the only collegiate player in the olympics hes versing the best and most intimidating team in basketball perhaps in world sport hes going up against the 3 best point guards in the league 2 of which will be guaranteed hall of famers and he tears them to shreads leaves them in his dust CP3 said of him “Hes good, man hes so fast”, Kobe said “I’m glad i dont have to guard him, i couldn’t”. do you want 2 bigger compliments like the best player in your position giving you raps and arguably the best player in the world talking you up man doesnt get much better if youre a freshman from a little known college in california
mills is short ok muggsley bogues had a decent career nate robinson goes alright allen iverson is a half decent player
hes the type of player with enough raw skills and a structure upon which a great player can be formed….he has work ethic that will rival anyone he will come up against he’s been said to “remind me of a young allen iverson, only faster”, when hes hot theres no stopping the guy, his on the ball defence is amazing because of his lateral quickness
sure his shooting can be inconsistent and he may lose interest in defence but in college is that important? no. players dont learn this until theyre in the nba really and given a strong off season theres no reason why he cant back up blake or bayless (personally i think blake is rubbish)

I'm not all that convinced
about Mills, but I still want to give him a chance before i say he’s not good enough. For some reason KP chose him, we have to wait and see if he was right (like he usually is)

Thanks for sending us good Aussie karma....
For winning it all! I don’t know a thing about Mills, but I like your spirited advocacy for him-and the Blazers. I hope to visit your country one day soon. I hear it’s very cool. I sure as heck know your accents are!

I was at work walking around.
And everyone was fretting over where he would go. We all thought he could go to the Lakers or Cavs with the 29/30th picks then he slipped to the second round and didn’t get picked till 55. There were several PG’s that went before him that were ranked considerably lower than Mills.
I am figuring that his broken hand had a lot to do with him slidding into the second round. But he came back and still battled on hard. If he doesn’t break his hand, they (St. Mary’s) beat Gonzaga and go to the NCAA tournament and Patty is a lottery pick.
Great to here that you want to visit our country. I would recommened coming here in December in summer, its what all Aussies love is the heat. If you cant stand a bit of 40 degree celcius (104 farenheit) heat then come during September in our Spring, just as good and we have great whether. Go Hornets, and Go Blazers!

I really like Mills.
I was thinking that we should take mills at 33 and we didn’t and I was upset cause i thought for sure he would get drafted before out pick in the 50s but he slipped to us and I couldn’t of been happier. I think Mills as some big potential and doesn’t shy away from big time moments.
