Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

"as good as the Clippers could have hoped for. It's being reported as Zach Randolph for Quentin Richardson, straight up. Of course Richardson doesn't make nearly as much as Randolph, but the Grizzlies are under the salary cap, so they are allowed to take on the extra salary. Because Zach had two seasons at $16M and $17.3M left on his deal compared to Richardson's $8.7M this season, the Clippers will save about $24.6M overall because of this trade. More importantly, they'll clear cap space for the 2010 off season when some huge names are going to become free agents."

I don't know why the Griz would do this especially now, with so many PF FA available for a much cheaper price but good for the clips I suppose

think of the support they would have if they named their team that way

They could stick with the green and gold colors too. – Elgin

NBa should investigate the grizz

something seems fishy about that organization.

The Blazers will play beautiful basketball.

Brandon will shoot the lights out. Blake will run and LMA will finish strong at the hoop. Bayless will play because we’ll be so far ahead in the 4th quarter, giving all the Jerryd fans something to smile about.

But wait, that’s not all. Rudy will go 5 of 5 from distance. Batum will posterize someone. And Channing will NOT lead the team in points.

What are the grizzlies thinking?

nothing.

"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."

-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.

"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."

-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

I know!

Are they aware the only reason they have a ANYTHING to talk about is because of CP3?
The hornets suck

You know...

that point, when you are playing Monopoly, and you realize that your row of light blues, St. Charles Place, and Water Works isn’t going to bankrupt anybody? So instead of forfeiting, you trade all your stuff to some other guy for $1, hoping to put a thorn in the Boardwalk/Park Place Hotels guy’s side. Turns out though, you only land on your new found friends property, and he waives your rent fees, so you go around the board with $1, forced to play… collecting $200 a lap, and all you can really think about is when the game will be over so you can go do something else.

so...

the grizzlies are tired of playing this allegorical monopoly game? But then why are they buying up all the garbage?

Did they really buy up all the garbage?

Or did they give cap relief to a competitor? If you’re in a sinking ship, locked in the cargo hold, you might as we let someone else use your life jacket.

I love allegories.

Imagine THAT locker room
Thabeet and Gasol off grunting in the corner, Z-Bo and Arthur chiefin’ ona kill, O.J. Mayo seeing if he still has any NCAA eligibility left so that he can return to USC, DeMarre Carroll hooked up to an EKG machine, Conley texting Oden every ten minutes

I have no doubt

that Zach will put up tremendous stats for the Grizzlies.

I also have no doubt that Memphis will miss the playoffs again (assuming the team stays basically as it is right now).

Reunion

Darius needed someone to mentor. He and Zach should get along great and be able to reminisce about the good ol’ days. The two of them should have a very positive experience guiding the younger Grizzlie players along.

Why can't I stop laughing?

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
