Anyone
Who believes that OKC has a brighter future than Portland I give little to no credence too….

it's not an outlandish claim
I don’t agree with it, but it’s not crazy. they have very nice young players, including a superstar in the making, a bunch of capspace, draft picks, and tradeable assets. They are going to be a good team a lot quicker than many think
How did you guys win that?
"We scored enough points. We scored 107, they scored 105.
-Nate McMillan Postgame, 3/4/2009
Not a crazy idea at all.
Depending how Harden pans out they could be better for sure. You also have to remember they have a crap load of cap space.

I never said it was Crazy
I just give little recognition to the writers who claim that for a couple of reasons.
1. Greg Oden – We have yet to see what he will develop into and just how good he will be.
2. Martell Webster – People are quick to write off Martell, but as wwas said above about Greg can be said about Martell. In fact I think even more so than Greg. Martell is 6’7 235-240 and had a year to take 3 point jumpshots while working on his body.
3. Nic Batum – Not much needs to be said
We really are a year and a Hinrich away from total League Domination for years…..
Call me crazy.

Yeah,
1.) I don’t understand how Oden not yet developing into his potential is a positive for the Blazers.
2.) Webster still has a broken foot. Even healthy he’s not really a game changer either way.
3.) Right now Jeff Green is a much better player. You can’t really use Batum as an argument in favor of the Blazers. The Thunder have two small forwards that are much, much better.

I can't wait
For Martell to come back and prove the doubters wrong, people forget how well he played the year before his injury, not to mention how good he looked in pre-season last year. If we had a healthy Martell last year we win an extra 2-3 games easy. Greg’s development is a plus when looking at how good he can be. Nobody honestly thinks his skills are going to just regress from here on out, do you? Just seeing him this year and what he is capable of, if he even hit’s 1/2 of his potential Bridgetown will dominate.

His skills will regress if his foot doesn't heal.
Wouldn’t be the first time a players career was derailed by a foot injury.

Jeff Green is actually overrated. Low efficiency scorer, not a great passer, turns it over. Statistically, you could make a case for Batum being a better role player than Green. Adj. +/- bears this out, and OKC being bad isn’t an excuse. Westbrook had an incredible adj. +/-, Green and Durant did not.
life is better as an optimist
Jeff Green is not overated.
He just isn’t a power forward.
Wasn’t his +/- good when Durant was injured and he moved over to small forward? Also Durant’s +/- is awful, but I think you would have a have a hard time arguing that he’s not better than Batum.
I don’t think that particular statistic works very well when comparing the two. Batum isn’t asked to be the 2nd option on offense while still guarding the apposing teams best player. Switch them places and I’m betting Portland gets a lot better and OKC gets a lot worse.

on David Lee
As long as you present a deal just slightly better than what New York is offering and front-load it I think Lee’s a Blazer. Considering they wouldn’t have to pay him the $10 million per that they were ready to offer Hedo they could get one of the bargain guys [veteran PG?] along with Lee.
Assuming the Blazers make this offer…would Lee take the LTC and agree to be a backup in Portland, or will he accept a 1 year deal with the Knicks in hopes of becoming an UFA next summer?
When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
