Blazers fans might be unfamiliar with Victor Claver, but the 6-9 Spaniard has a lot of potential.
Victor Claver was one of the best upcoming stars in the ACB... until he broke his leg.
I like this article because it sheds light on Victor, a hugely overlooked gamble in our future.
Will he deliver? Will he make a difference for this Portland team, if only as valuable trade fodder? If so, when?

KP was talking about Claver tonight
he said that you don’t like to make predictions re: teh 2nd pick in the draft, but he could see laver as having the talent to be a starting SF in the future
I can just imagine how Batum would feel about that news…it’s like on Nic’s blog where he talked about looking at Luke Jackson during training camp last fall after Martell went down and thinking to himself “don’t even think about it”
Victor can have Batum’s starting SF job when he pries it from Nic’s cold dead fingers. A Spanish-Franco border war could very well ensue…
When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
predictions re: teh 2nd pick
should’ve read “the 22nd pick”

Claver, of course

Never Underestimate KP or the Blazers Europeon Connection.
It gave us Fernandez and Batum, and quite frankly, a lot of Europeon’s believe that Claver will be another one. A number of scouts also though he would’ve gone much higher in this draft if he hadn’t broken his leg. The good thing about the leg is it’s not the knee.
