Nice
Is she Asian? My wife was hoping other Asian women with large breasts would join, and so far it’s mostly been guys from Blazers Edge. I told her she should put up more cleavage shots. I also have a feeling no busty Asian women will join.
no, sadly she is not Asian.
However, Coolio girl was Asian. I would not call hers “big” but they were adequate.
...refusing Coolio's sloppy seconds since 2001...
All breasts are adequate
I don’t really have a fetish, if you don’t count butts, and was thinking that since 70% of the people here are Asian, that I should pick an Asian fetish. I decided on Asians with blond hair and Asians with large chests. Not counting overweight women, both traits are pretty rare. I could probably add anything but brown eyes as well. There are a lot of blond Asian women in Seattle.
I'll take the brown eyes
i’m rather fond of them. toss in some red hair and i’m golden.

You should go for the Olympics
If you want to trade our spare parts for Devin Harris, I have three quarters I would like to trade for your dollar
If you have already managed to rob a bank.....
then go. Otherwise, it;s looking HUGELY expensive for a visit. I’ve been tracking that (being a relatively nearby Washingtonian) and had even thought about going. But over half hte tickets alloted for US citizens were sold to a package tourism company that is charging more than $30,000 for their packages.

Does Portland count?
Not being in the Northwest anymore, I find I miss Portland and Seattle more than other places. You guys better know how nice you have it!
I went to Texas a few years ago. It was crazy humid; we got caught in the middle of a lightning storm; it was dirty; there was a crazy cricket invasion, and you couldn’t walk without stepping on them, including inside some businesses.
But somehow, we had a great time. Great food, people were really nice, and the drive was outstanding. I have a feeling we’ll need to go back there.
Well, that or Hawaii. The smaller islands are nice and much less touristy, while still having lots of tourist services.
i keep forgetting you are not around here anymore...
the summers here is sooo insanely great, anyone who visit would want to stay

Can’t wait, I didn’t get to the Bite when I lived in the area.
My wife didn’t quite get Portland at first, but it grows on her every time we’re there. When we came up for Games 1 and 2, it was 80 degrees, everyone was smiling, and there were dogs everywhere. Oh, and the beer. Can’t forget the beer.

but most of the kidnappings happen to people selling the drugs or transporting large amounts. The cartel’s know where the money is coming from, though the occasnional does get kidnapped. France didn't seen any spendier than home
At least not for a traveller.
Budapest was smoggy and dirty, but cool. I prefer the Czech Republic overall, even though Prague gets super crowded in the winter.
Scandanavia was really nice, but soooooooo expensive. Spain was awesome, Portugal was cool, Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania has lots of cool things to see and is dirt cheap, Germany was as German as you’d expect.
Everywhere is nice. Really, the place I felt was most disappointing was Ireland, at least Dublin. It was just a big boring city. My sister was in school in Galway, so I travelled along the southern coast on my way to the East coast to see her, and it’s lots more fun outside Dublin… but I liked other countries better.
THE ONLY PLACE I ain’t been to in Western europe, for a decent stay, is England, because I couldn’t afford it when I was travelling a lot. I figure I can go there any ol’ time though…
"so I travelled along the southern coast on my way to the East coast to see her" =
“so I travelled along the southern coast on my way to the WEST coast to see her”
I liked Galway and rented a house a bit south in the Burren region (county Claire I think). That was pretty awesome.
Cliffs of Moher (spelling?), Stonehenge-like sites, just a lot of green with the typical stone walls in between. Very nice food.
I don't think she'd fit in at all
She should come back where people accept her brainy-isms. There’s no room for a person like her in NYC.
If time and budget allows, Marrakech in Morocco (trendier and cheaper than the coast on the other side of the Mediterranean) and some parts of Turkey are also very nice

Marrakech was the best of the big cities in Morocco
I went all over, but spent most of my time in small towns where I was the only whitey (well, me and my British pal I made on the ferry ride over).
Casablanca was just a big city with McDonals and Pizza Huts, Fes and Meknes were ah’ight, but Marrakesh was cool.
I dunno, there's no roller derby there
Actually, Barcelona is my favorite big city on the entire planet (so far).
its very nice..
i prefer Valencia on the coast but the smaller towns are more fun

A few years ago. Very quiet island then.
Lotsa stray dogs roaming around as well, which was interesting.

Go Blazers!!!!!!!!!! Wooooooooooot Wooooooooooooot!!!!!!!!!
I made buddies with one puppy
Named him Tiberius.
In Morocco, stray cats are EVERYWHERE. One time I was sitting outside for lunch and a poor kitten who had one eye ripped out hopped on my lap meowed all cute-like. I wanted to take him home and put an eye patch on him.
She was already gotted by my wife by that time
My wife rescued her from a shelter in Ybor city, the ghetto of Tampa. She was made for dog fighting and was going to be destroyed.
The stray dogs were like the whole island's dogs
They were very nice and just wanted to play and eat your food.
i'm jealous

Dorsey made Pendergraph look like a high school prospect on the rebounding end. He certainly had a humbling first year in the NBA. He could fill the 10-15 minute role behind Aldridge quite effectively in my opinion. Reminds me of Ben Wallace.

a good part of it is that my research deals with water issues
so it gets to me that Vegas is a city in the middle of the desert with huge, perfectly manicured golf courses and giant fountains.
then you have the strip, and the bright lights just drive me insane and practically give me a seizure. talk about sensory overload.
the whole thing just made me incredibly uncomfortable. couldn’t wait to get out of there.
this was my first experiences with vegas
it wasn’t until i was over 21 and i was able to drink away the desert blues that I was able to accept it for what it is..

Getting above 5, especially if you’re on the strip, is plenty. I mean, it’s fun for those 5 days, but you’re ready to go.

he’s somewhat underrated on the defensive end. He’s been poor at blocking shots, but his rotations aren’t horrible and he’s a really good perimeter defender. Say what you will about his scoring efficiency and shot blocking, but his +/- numbers have always been good.

LA's Defense
I agree, he is solid at rotating. What I would like to see is more core strength & ability to put his body in to someone on the block. Seems like every time I watch him I see stouter players get underneath him & use leverage to push him around.
Compared to KG, who is almost exactly the same size… I want to see some aggression from him. Charles Oakley and/or Ben Wallace(As a backup PF for dirt $$$) could really help him out.
Patience :)
by TheGreatDane17 on Jul 16, 2009 12:21 AM PDT up reply actions
I think he's very poor at rotating and horrendous at protecting the basket
he’s mediocre in 1v1 post defense and excellent on the perimeter for a 4.
very poor at rotating? I think his mistakes are magnified, because he does flat-out miss some assignments. Still, he always gives effort and generally rotates effectively.
He does need to give better weakside help, no question. It’d be easier if he didn’t have to switch on so many picks.

LMA just isn’t big enough to be a great post defender. He’s a lanky build, which helps him in offensive rebounding and running the court but hurts him in post D and defensive boarding. I’m looking for him to be a better weakside defender moreso than a good post defender.

don’t just look at points— look at Gasol’s gaudy shooting percentages against the Blazers.
good point
his shooting percentage is high against everyone, no one ever passes him the ball. he is the perfect post player for the triangle and they never go trough him. In a true triangle he would be getting the ball every postion and running the offense from the post.

eveyone has been knitpicking every work coming out of KP’s mouth lately, especial Cazano. Do you really want our GM throwing to the public all are plans and then coming out acting like a bitch everytime something doesn’t go perfectly to plan. Don’t you think Kp’ had backup plans and went with them. I heard Kp on the bald faced bs and Cazano told him he sounded defeated. Haven’t turned bft on sense. I still got kp’s back. It sounds like the company I keep is getting smaller every day

Hey, neato
What was the name of your grade school there?
May Street Elemenary, maybe? That’s the one I went to. I can’t remember any others.
nah i lived by May St. school in high school
i went to Parkdale Elementary, also Mid Valley Elementary, and Wy’East middle school, then finally got out of the sticks for HS in the highly urbane Hood River Valley High School :-)
"Everybody is crazy. It's just some people are more upfront about it." -fanfaraway
"love is only universal if you know what to do with it" -broyposse
I lived there for half of 2nd grade, and half of 3rd
I hate my 2nd grade teacher to this day.
She had a picture up on the wall of Violet from the Charlie Brown comic strip (Peanuts), and it said "Lucy says, “Turn in your homework!”. I had been reading Charlie Brown since before I could read, and I raise my hand and say “Ms. Forgethername, that isn’t Lucy, that is Violet. They look the same but Lucy is shorter and rounder”.
The teacher says “No, that’s Lucy”. I say, “No, it is Violet. I read Charlie Brown everyday”.
Then she has the class take a vote about whether it was Violet or Lucy. They all said it was Lucy :-(
I even brought a Charlie Brown book in the next day and showed her, and she said it still looked like Lucy to her. BUT IT WASN’T. AAAAAARRRRRRGH.
Later on, I was telling some other kids what a Google and a Google-plex is, and she overhears me and says “Mortimer, stop making up lies and telling it to others”. And I said it’s not a lie, it’s a real number, and so she asks the class if anyone else has heard of this number. No one had :-( So, I lost the vote again.
I don’t care how old she is now, if I see her I’m popping her in the face. She made 2nd grade Mortimer very angry and was first in a long line of bad teachers I had growing up.
I didn’t bring in a Dictionary showing that Google was a real word, because the sting from bringing the proof in before and it not helping burned too sharp in my heart.
Now I know how Charlie Brown feels :-(
If I punch enough old ladies
I figure its only a matter of time till I get to her.
FISTS, GET A’ PUNCHIN’.
Please do
If enough people start punching old ladies, the authorities will just think it’s some new fad and they won’t convict us.
THE PERFECT CRIME.
I'll just dye my hair white
The cops just turn their heads when comes to old bitty vs. old bitty crime. They don’t even care.
NO, THAT IS THE THINKING THAT GOT US HERE
Old Bitties are people too! They’re just the victims of a system that subjugated them, held them back for so long, and forgot them when they allowed hundreds of Blazer fans to punch them in the face and knock their fake teeth and purple wigs off.
Corvid… this isn’t the world I want to live in any longer. Where an old bitty isn’t free to not be punched for a crime one of her peers commited. A crime of the heart, a crime of passion.
A crime of… love.
i agree
it seems like it was, i’m still trying to remember which acid flashbacks happened there.

Countries and stories
- I like the NW coast of the US and Canada. Vancouver Island, the coastal mountains, Banff, Jasper, … Just a great region that isn’t completely overcrowded and industrialized yet. What you would never see in Central Europe: Roadwork with a nice guy or girl with a stop sign instead of a traffic light informing travelers that there is a problem. I liked it, but I don’t know many people who would do that job.
- I like Norway. The south and west coast and the Hardangervidda mountains are beautiful. I almost froze to death there. South Sweden is similar.
- I like the boarder region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Some of the best hiking and skiing areas.
- I like the Normandy better than the Cote D’Azur, but that’s just me.
- Tuscany in Italy is heaven in pretty much every sense, both at the coast and a few miles in.
- Island hopping in Greece is a must-do thing if you are in any way interested in archaeology, culture – or party depending on the right location.
- Taiwan is crazy hot and humid in the summer. Especially Taipei, which is surrounded by low mountains keeping the smog and humidity in the city. Kinda like LA. You can eat more things than you usually would. Also has nice mountainous regions.
- Brazil is tough for business to get things done on time. Mañana.
- Bolivia has beautiful mountains, and very nice people. Unless they want to kill you.
- Kenya is great, and I haven’t even seen the Massai Mara yet. Climbed Mt. Kenya which has great vegetation. What I learned there: Distance means nothing to people who are used to it. Water 6 miles away is like having a faucet in your kitchen to some. Electricity is a luxury good. A Toyota van or Land Rover can sustain more impacts than you or the manufacturer would think. Elephants are dangerous. Never follow a Massai/Samburu on foot, he might not stop for 50 to 100 miles.
- I want to go to New Zealand.

An economist told me last week you can't legalize marijuana because you can't regulate supply. Everyone interested would just grow his own, which is much easier than with say wine or tobacco. Hence all those claims of billions in tax benefits are wrong.
Discuss.
If you want to trade our spare parts for Devin Harris, I have three quarters I would like to trade for your dollar
not that I'm an expert
but I wouldn’t say it’s that easy. If it was as easy as going to a tobacco machine and buying a pack of joints, i’m telling you most people with marijuana plants in their homes would stop growing them. At least in Spain. We’re lazy.
I guess a possible outcome could be having big brands and then some small, local brands of joints.
And I wouldn’t consider the only benefit tax dollars, also the decrease in related crimes and illegal trade could be just as important (cops could do proper work instead of chasing people smoking a joint in a park).
Yeah, the amount of people in jail for pot related crimes is staggering
Some say one of the big obstacles for legalizing pot is the loss of jobs legalizing it would bring in the law enforcement.
People can do a lot of things on their own that they still end up buying at the store
I can grow my own tomatoes, but I don’t. That takes time and work. I go to the store to buy tomatoes.
Some people would grow their own pot, most wouldn’t.
I’d love it if we could tax the hell out of it and have all of our dreams come true. I don’t even smoke pot, it’s just silly that we don’t.
Drugs business work like a piramid.
The base is so large (full of consumers who can´t pay for it and people in need for money) that no matter how many big or small dealers are arrested, there are always replacements coming. Either we find a way to make it legal under some kind of control or we´ll always have this problem.
Nah....it's too much work.
So I’ve heard.
Unless someone has a major grow operation, it’s pretty resource extensive (power for grow lights, water, fertilizer).
Now if you have 10 acres of land in northern California (the green triangle)….it would be like having a license to print money.

You can hand-roll your own cigarettes as well at a fraction of what it costs to buy packs
People rarely do so. When it comes to any substance, people love to pay for convenience. Who has time to monitor their own grow operation, pay for lights, water, etc when they could just visit a farm and happily pay for the product?

Yes
But it gives you new stretchmarks caused by your skin becoming so smooth and bouyant so quickly. You’ll need to light your home and workplace with those strip club lights that hide stretch marks.
Man, I hate Washington.
I bet the strip clubs in Oregon are, well, awesome!
Stupid people have stupid ideas.
82nd Avenue, Portland, Oregon. The not-so-aptly-named Avenue of the Roses (why? Your guess is as good as mine). State Hwy 213. This street runs N—S along the eastern edge of Portland. 81st Avenue is Portland, 83rd Avenue is “the other side of the tracks”.
There’s never a dull moment on 82nd avenue. This is the classic transitional strip of used car lots, 24-hour fast food joints, skeezy crack-house motels, smoky diners, seedy bars, crusty strip joints, check-cashing loan sharks, filthy dirty Mexican restaurants, numerous ghetto fabulous Wal-Marts, Chinese restaurants, crappy apartments, transmission shops, trannies, and hookers. Anything you need, any time of day, even if it’s just sheer entertainment, 82nd is the place.
Every city has one. In Seattle, for example, it’s the Hwy 99/Aurora Ave corridor. All of the businesses and activities that the middle class folks don’t want in their backyard come here. It looks dirty, it smells dirty, and it’s well contained. A few blocks in either direction, and you’re back in regular old Portland. But 82nd, and the little bubble around it, are in a different world altogether.
This area used to be a “prostitution free zone”, a special exclusionary zone, because there was SO MUCH prostitution going on here. Did that work? No. Not at all. I drive home from work/class on this street between Glisan and Division every night, and I see AT LEAST one hooker each evening… at least one.
Need a used car of questionable history and value? Want to purchase an automobile from a dealer that won’t be in existence next week? Need some crack? How about some over-sized 4×4 rims? Maybe a gigantic Chinese marble statue of a lion? Gee, maybe you need some dirty hooker sex? No? Ok, how about some dim sum and heroin? How about a 6 am Bud Light and heart-stopper bacon/cheese/sausage/egg/potato scramble from the Toc? 82nd has everything you could never want, and more.
82nd will never die. We could kill it 1,000 times and it would simply rise from its ashes, even more skanky than last time. 82nd is like your meth-head cousin… the one who keeps screwing up, relapsing, stealing your aunt’s tv to buy more meth, and is always really, really sleazy, but the family likes to keep him nearby in case they need him. That’s 82nd. “It’s kind of an embarrassment, so we’ll just put it about 82 blocks outside of downtown. Hey, maybe it will scare away the people from Gresham?”
The traffic on this street is always terrible. For some reason, this is the one street in Portland that people refuse to EVEN GO THE SPEED LIMIT. It’s like a slow-motion annoying-ass time warp.
I live here. I live within 1,000 feet of this divine boulevard. If the “prostitution free zone” still existed, I would be living within its boundaries.

Pacers in some financial trouble as per my research and one of Bill Simmons latest tweets
Could they do this trade at the deadline?
Granger, Foster, Rush for Rudy, Joel, Martell, Travis. Would save them 2 million instantly and gives them depth (with the option of letting Travis go after the season) and Rudy as some face of the franchise. We solve the issue of a second scorer next to Roy, clear the SF rotation, get a good center to back up Greg (2 more years), and a shooting guard who is capable but a clear #2 behind Roy. I doubt it happens, but I want Danny dammit and this deal would make some sense to both parties :)

frustrates me. One summer league is enough to judge a player, for good or bad.

They probably wouldn't know what to say without snap judgments
That’s the kind of thing that keeps sports talk radio going. People love strong divisive opinions on the radio for some reason.

They're too quick to come to judgements
And even when they take their time and consider everything, they still come to the wrong conclusion. They aren’t good at basketball talk, and thus it is hard to listen to, so I don’t listen to them. It just makes me go, “why are you so wrong?”
Perhaps Bayless won’t be a good PG. Who knows. I DO know it won’t be because he had a bad game in summer league.

He only watches Clippers games. He can only compare him to Davis and Davis.
Bayless is a bust. Oden is a huge bust made of glass. LaMarcus is a soft wuss. Travis has no brain. Martell has a bum foot. Blake has a dinged shoulder and is not athletic. Nic is French. Rudy is overrated. Joel is a white stiff. We are screwed. We are one injury to Roy away from being the Clippers. At best the Timberwolves.

Per Ben
Last ditch effort: Pritchard dumps chemicals on “toxic” Millsap offer; demands media now use the term “radioactive” to further scare Jazz
Stephen Curry, per Arnovitz:
The good news for Curry is that he’s been able to get shots — largely because the ball has been in his hand. He’s picking his opportunities. Unfortunately, he’s picking far too many of them. Although he’s averaging 19.5 points per game, he’s doing it on only 31.4 percent shooting. His assist/turnover ratio? 4.5 to 3.75.
life is better as an optimist
What is it about being drafted that makes people start missing shots?
It’s one thing in the NBA where the competition is fierce on the court (though that doesn’t explain why they stop making open shots), but seriously, Summer League? He should be hitting from all over the court and a few phone booths.
I wonder what causes their shot selection to drop.
I mean, he was nailing it from everywhere in college. It’s not like Summer League is a bastion of hard defense, you should be able to get shots you want.
He has looked AWFUL
Simply, awful.
I didn’t watch him much in college, but like I said during the run up to the draft, he isn’t very athletic and is quite tiny (thoug has good height). He isn’t really a PG, like Bayless, but Bayless is very athletic.
If Curry doesn’t do well in summer league, it means a lot more than if he did well. He should be dominating it, like Bayless and Randy Foye and Nate Robinson and other quick small scoring guards.
His shot selection has made me cringe. Really awful.
if an undersized guard trying to score can’t dominate summer league…

I work at VW Credit and they are pretty high on their TDI engine – it burns very, very clean, gives 50 mpg and doesn’t have the problems of batteries. – Elgin
Without you out there, we're nowhere here
The TDI is supposed to be the best Diesel engine on the market
The big Diesel problem is first the limited number of pumps, and second, the fact that their price skyrocketed when supply dropped, past the regular gas prices (in this area).
I really like the TDI though. I’m impressed that it seems to burn diesel cleaner.
In Europe about every gas station has diesel
But it’s true, most big chains are trying to get rid of “regular” gas and just want to have “super” and their very expensive proprietary high octane mix (useless) and diesel priced slightly above super. What VW also has introduced for some models is an engine that seems to go out when you stop e.g. at a crossing or a traffic light, but comes back on very fast.
In Europe about every gas station has diesel
Yep, America is way behind there. So no surprise that VW is focusing TDI in the Euro market. If Diesel can be available and cheaper in the US, it would be a win-win.
What VW also has introduced for some models is an engine that seems to go out when you stop e.g. at a crossing or a traffic light, but comes back on very fast.
VW is also starting to use this on the Audi, right? It’s a great idea and I’ve heard other manufacturers are considering it too.
instead of taxing truck drivers
which would have pissed off their union, they just taxed diesel to get their money.. damn gubmint

by Cablinasian on Jul 16, 2009 12:44 PM PDT up reply actions
Sessions is indeed underrated, but with so few teams having cap space there’s only one team who can make an offer like that, and they targeted Millsap. Bucks will probably match something up to the MLE, which is all most of the other teams can offer, so that’s why things haven’t heated up with him.
life is better as an optimist
by Cablinasian on Jul 16, 2009 12:45 PM PDT up reply actions
The first two years would have to be at MLE-level per the Arenas provision, then it could go up by I think 8% per year depending on if a team has the cap space (we would have, at least when Millsap is matched). If we gave him a 4 or 5 year deal with that, the Bucks could still match but would have to think at least twice about it.
Sessions doesn’t fit with Roy at this point, but he’d be a fun change of pace to create for 18-20 minutes per game. Sergio+

Would be worth a try. He sure would have to work on his shot. But why not have a player catch and outlet pass from Roy and then drive the lane himself from another angle. If the third player on the wing was Rudy or Travis they would still have a kickout option.
I still think Sessions being on the court would hurt Roy’s playmaking ability somewhat…. BUT, most players can become servicable shooters with practice.

One "joke" I always do
Whenever I see a list, either for grocery or for a to-do list my wife leaves me, I either write BUY POOP in the person’s handwriting on the grocery list, or I write DRAW A POOP on the to-do list and then I draw a poop and cross out that part of the to-do list and show it to my wife and say “look, I did something on my list! I am a good boy”.
I should try that.
I see you’re not going to let “poop” go without a fight.
I once pooped in a large paper bag, folded it nicely, and set it next to a dumpster just so I could watch the reactions of the people who opened the bag. I got the idea from my cousin.
When we were kids we would play pull a purse and we played it for so long that folks started to catch on. My cousin mixed it up by pooping in an old purse and then we left it in the sun for a few days. It was one of the stinkiest things I’ve ever smelled. We would leave the closed poop purse next to the road and the see how long it took for the car to stop and throw it out the window.

I always wanted to light a bag of poop but I didn’t because of the fire hazard.
Once on Punky Brewster she did a thing called the “flying foam” where she filled a plastic bag with shaving cream, stuck it under the door, and then jumped on it. It would probably only work in warm climates though.

The D-League select team beat the Wolves and Kings
We will also play them. Mhm, I think I said Othyus Jeffers and a few other of those guys would look good on an NBA team.
I love that this is on the front page
Portland small forward Travis Outlaw has been one of the NBA’s success stories. He arrived in the NBA straight from high school in small-town Mississippi, and at first appeared wholly unprepared. He had essentially dunked his way to great numbers in high-school, and he could still jump in the NBA. But his jumper was a little scary, his defense was nothing special and coaches had a hard time finding a use for him.
Since Sophia's rant in the Haarlow thread is green and spawned some good comments, I take it she is not banned and Dave wasn't too happy with the thread either
As much as Sophia is sexist in her own right, she made many good points in that thread.

I say what Haarlow does is harder than it looks
She always keeps it running smooth and is never at a loss for what to say. That is much harder than it looks.
Too many people assume she is dumb because she is pretty, and that is what bugs me. As far as sideline reporting goes, she is better at what she does than Mike and Mike are at what they do, when compared to other announcers.
although her job isnt that hard
it would be if she asked unique questions to each game, but instead she repeats the same q over and over each game.

Too late to really join this
But sideline announcing is terrible for almost anyone. It’s a worthless job, and I wish NBA teams would just eliminate it altogether. I don’t need to see interviews of ass’t coaches at halftime.
But, you people haven’t seen Angela Tsai (who is pretty) work either. She’s god-awful at sideline announcing.

I don’t get why Sessions isn’t signed yet. At the very least, he’s a terrific guy to run the offense when Brandon is off the ball or on the bench.

Fantastic interview with Antonio Harvey on 95.5 The Game, talked about Jerry’d learning to be a point guard. Really good stuff.
Also, Joe Prunty told them that he moved Jerry’d off the ball to allow him to take Chase Budinger, who Jerry’d knows from Arizona. He thought that the mismatch would be a Blazer advantage.
Odd thinking.

not saying that he was perfectly right, just saying that the point-counterpoint between him and Vance was really good.

Regardless, Vance was very frustrated with Bayless’ play. thus, it was interesting to ’Tone talk to him about what he saw. He talked about Jarrett Jack refusing to do what Bayless is doing and explained some of the turnovers.

I have it on good authority that the following interesting player transfers will likely happen in Europe
Real Madrid: Try to acquire Walter Herrmann as free agent from Detroit. Will lose Raul Lopez to Khimki (Russia), who last year stood in Sergio’s way for the national team. They also acquired coaching legend Ettore Messina from CSKA Moscow.
Tau Ceramica: Tiago Splitter will stay another year. Despite the bankruptcy of the main sponsor they still seem to have found some money, because they will bring in Jiri Welsch and a player from Joventut among others.
Barcelona: Ersan Ilyasova (Bucks) and David Andersen (Rockets, from Hawks) will come to the NBA.
Ricky Rubio: Hasn’t signed anything, but Real Madrid and Unicaja Malaga look like the likely destinations if David Kahn can’t do a last-minute miracle and convince him to come over and lose a lot of money and games the next two years.
Roma is pretty much imploding following a disappointing playoff loss swapping most of the roster
Former NBA players Bostjan Nachbar will sign with Efes Pilsen in Turkey
Carlos Arroyo won’t be back in Tel Aviv, and will try to get back in the NBA.
I don’t understand why players who can absolutely hack it in the NBA (Childress, Herrrrmannnn) choose to play in Europe… I guess it’s all about the money at that point, but it seams like going from college ball back to HS ball

Great Quote from Canzano from his show:
“I don’t think that Batum is in the Blazers long term plans, he just isn’t the type of player I see starting on a championship level team.”
I immediately turned off the radio and slapped myself for even bothering to listen
SF area sports radio isn't great... but its way better than Portland sports radio
Tom Tolbert and Ralph Barbieri’s show (“The Razor and Mr. T”) is at least tolerable.
I haven't ever found a sports radio program I can tolerate
For one thing, all I care about sports wise is the NBA, and I can’t think of anyone on the radio who is smart at NBA basketball talk.
I listen to Dave’s podcasts, I enjoyed Casey’s interviews with KP the other season, and I listen to Courtside monday night, though I wouldn’t say it was a great show, just Blazer themed.
Sports radio is just too dumb for me, when it comes to basketball. And I ain’t no genius, I just pay attention to what players do and who they are and what teams did during the season. Maybe sports radio is better with football and baseball, I dunno…
Mortimer, you're basketball knowledge isn't fit for human consumption.
You know too much and you want to dive deep into the topics—That’s not good for sports radio.
What you need is for NPR to pick up the NBA. They could bring in some scientists and members of think tanks to explain the nuances of the sport. Could you get behind something like that?

There's plenty of people here smarter than I
And there are plenty just like me who just happen to really follow the NBA and keep track of crap, and I wish there was a radio show that did the same.

Batum is 20 and extremely unlikely to even approach Pip's greatness...
… but Canzano is till way off base. 19/20 year olds that start for good teams and don’t look out of place generally end up going places.
I meant he plays like Pip probably did when Pip was 19, so the potential is there… I guess now that Batum is 20 though that changes everything

It may be true that Nic at 19>Pip at 19, but there have been many "next Pip"s and most fall well short of that mark
Its much more likely Nic reaches the “above average starter” or “borderline all-star in the Tay Prince mold” than even be in the same convo with Pip.

Wow…….I need a cigarette……and I don’t even smoke cigarettes.

And that'd be totally chill
At the very least, we can all agree he looked damn good for a 19 year old rookie in a team that nearly got 2nd in the west, except for some tie breakers.
A smart kid like him who is a student of the game and very athletic SHOULD be really good. His brain is what will separate him from other lanky “Next Pippen’s” who weren’t as all-round as I think Batum will become.
But for now, he’s still a kid who played somewhat sparingly (especially for a starter) and averaged like 5 points a game. There’s a lot left to see before we know where exactly he’ll end up.

Ben is reporting that the Jazz will match for 'Sap
Hopefully KP is on the phone to Odom and/or Lee and/or Sessions as we speak.
Yeah Bucher announced it on Sportscenter yesterday too
I presume KP has already moved on from Millsap.
KP's summer grade so far is about a D+
He gets the “+” for forcing Utah to pay Millsap more than the MLE.
I say he passes just for not making a BAD deal
Which is a big thing to not do for a team in our situation.
Even if we wanted to sign Hedo, we didn’t, so we didn’t do a bad deal yet ;-)
I say it was divine intervention
And since we all know KP is God, he saved us from us, by Himself.
He knew Toronto would offer more, so this way he can do the Brian Cardinal “see I’m signing someone” move for Paul Allen, but not have to deal with the repurcussions.
OH MAN, what a genius!
I say, the fact that Hedo was not in the 2004 olympics means we weren't really into him...

by EvilKaramazov on Jul 16, 2009 4:15 PM PDT up reply actions
Yeah but that's setting you up in a position to presume you were right.
There’s no guarantee that a.) Hedo wouldn’t have worked out, and b.) Our Summer plans might have been very different had he signed.
If Hedo had worked out decently, then had his expiring contract traded for a youngster in 4.5 years, everybody would look back and say “ok… I was wrong”. But instead, everyone has take carte blanche to just nail KP since their assumptions about the results can’t be proven or disproven.
bahahahaha
For the record, I don’t think Hedo was the right choice either. But I’ve questioned KP’s decisions before and been wrong, so I’m left unsure what to think of this Summer.
As I noted the other day… if I’d been told this was our big Summer the day after the season ended, I’d have been really disappointed. But I’m not sure I could grade it.
It gets an "I" until we get some games in
I wanna use the space smartly and nicely, but its way too soon to grade it. Who knows how it’ll end up turning out.
I’m sure KP is doing his best to use it as smartly and nicely as possible, and that’s all we can hope for.
I bet I could do a better job grading things than A-Woj or Ford
if I tried to grade all the teams, KP might get bumped up to a C just because of teams like Toronto.
Detroit <<<<<<<<<<<< Toronto.
Billups and Sheed for the twitter guy and an undersized gunner who can’t defend anybody. GREAT IDEA.
life is better as an optimist
Its why cap space was created
For one guy who tries at defense but doesn’t do it that well and can score a lot but doesn’t create for others, and a tall guy who plays like a SF who doesn’t defend anyone whatsoever and has never actually passed the ball.
Both guys can get 40 points any given night, so thats nice.
My two friends who are Pistons fans are pretty bummed by this offseason. THIS is what the cap space was for?!?
what would have boosted the grade?
wouldn’t an Incomplete be more fitting at this point?

If management doesn't wanna mess with Bayless
Then I am fine trying for Sessions, but I think they want Bayless to be the backup this year.
Whoever management likes better
I can be fine with, though I think Bayless has a better chance at fitting next to Roy better.
If ya get Sessions, might as well move Bayless, because ya got the guy you’re trying to groom to replace Blake. If KP and Friends think Bayless can develop into a starter, then they won’t get Sessions because it’ll only disrupt the development for a guy who isn’t a for-sure good fit with Roy either.
But Sessions is good, so I would be happy with him. Just don’t think we will, since I think management is into BayBay. I think he’ll be fine as the backup, and will do really well against opposing backup PGs. A solid vet that AK1984 could suggest would be nice to be the 3rd stringer/2nd stringer if Bayless Baylesses up too much.
I’m fully convinced that he’s not moving anywhere.
I’d say that we’ll end up with a player we haven’t discussed, but this is Blazersedge. Someone on here has made a fanpost about the player we’ll acquire.

I don’t know what the consensus on Odom is, but if we get him, he’s more able to play backup center than Milsap….so do we move Joel and play a bigman lineup of Aldridge, Oden and Odom? Do we dare trade Joel away?
Has anyone thought of Mike Rice in all this Odom mess? He’s going to screw up the Oden vs. Odom thing at least 139 times during the season. That man has enough to worry about already.
