Rubio trying to send a message?..

As some already know Ricky Rubio the Über talented young Spanish Point Guard. Known for his knowledge of the game & defense, recently signed with Real Madrid. Drafted 5th overall in the 2009 NBA draft by the Minnesota T'Wolves. Let me ask you a question. Who are the two biggest names in the history of the Real Madrid Basketball team? Arvydas Sabonis(Blazer) & Dražen Petrović(Blazer) Among the teams he mentioned that he would like to be a part of pre draft(in the midst of many big market teams) was Portland. Playing along side his countryman, knows this team needs a PG... Rumors were flying about Pritchard attempting to move up, for the Wizards #5 pick(Costed the T'Wolves Mike Miller & Randy Foye, talent I believe the Blazers could matched or exceeded). Numerous times by the Blazers staff they have mentioned that Rubio has been on their radar for years. It is quite scary to think how far ahead he is, compared to Tony Parker when he came over from France. What do you think it would cost the Blazers to acquire the rights to Ricky? I have a feeling Przybilla going back to his home-state would be involved as their backup pivotman.

Lots of things enter into this

Martell might be worth a lot more in 6 months if he is healed up and playing well and why would either team be in a hurry to make a deal?

My dream scenario is to wait a few years

Then offer Joel and Rudy for the rights to Rubio and K-Love

But if David Kahn wants to shed some salary right now and break up his “logjam” at the PG/PF posisions, KP might be able to get Al Jefferson and the rights to Ricky Rubio and Wayne Ellington for Przybilla, Travis and Rudy, and still retain most of his cap-space

Jefferson 12,000,000

Przybilla 6,857,725
Outlaw 3,600,000
Fernandez 1,165,320
capspace 1,400,000

Why would MN do it? Are you kidding, they get 3 starters. Kahn would be crazy to say no.

What it would mean for Portland…Could Jefferson and Oden play together in the paint? Would the offensive boost that Al provides make up for the defensive “loss” of Joel? Would Rubio be ready to step in and what would that mean for Jerryd Bayless?

No way that works without Rudy staying in Portland

And Jefferson is a wimp on defense, just what we need.

I would not send Rudy to the Wolves

Even if we get Rubio in return. Their on-court connection is invaluable.

Patience :)

So who are you going to throw to the Wolves, then?

Brandon Roy? LMA? Batum? Oden?

Don’t tell me you think Kahn is going to part with Rubio’s rights for some combination of Przybilla, Blake, Outlaw, Webster or Bayless…‘cause that ain’t happenin’

You’re going to have to give up star talent and be willing to take on a bad contract to get Kahn to bite

But y’all can keep wishing for a for a Rubio-Rudy-Roy 3 guard lineup/rotation

Rubio

Rubio will never be cheaper than he is now. We need another distributor badly and Rubio is head and shoulders above whatever else it out there.

Hinrich/Rubio at the 1

With…
Roy/Rudy
Batum/?
Aldridge/?
Oden/Przybilla

I guarantee a championship.

Patience :)

Hell even Blake/Rubio to be honest

But I think Hinrich would be the best possible mentor for Ricky.

If you've got a plan to get both Hinrich and Rubio

without surrendering any of the following

Roy, Oden, LMA, Batum, Fernandez?

Do tell

Otherwise, back away from that NBA fantasy 2k9 lineup

Who signed with Real Madrid?

Nobody expects a Spanish Acquisition!

Rubio sends really subtle messages I guess.

*Unless KP has a secret plan that makes this statement incorrect.

why are you making things up?

rubio is still on dkv, he has done no such thing as signing with real madrid

LMA for Rubios contract?

If we ended up getting Millsap at PF and if LMA’s contract is a future problem for keeping the rest of our core happy as has been suggested, then would Minnesota be interested in trading Rubio’s contract for LMA with other pieces?
PG is a more critical piece for a championship than this PF downgrade imo

the Wolves already have 2 PFs

Jefferson and Love, the last thing Kahn should be looking for is adding another one

(besides adding another young PG, of course…)
