Bayless in game 1, not as good as it seems

J Bay

I watched the whole game online yesterday, and though the announcers were very high on J Bay, He still has a ways to go before he could put in valuable minutes at the point guard position. As of right now i would say he is not a pure PG. I believe he possess all of the necessary attributes to be one, but he still makes some bad passes that a point guard doesnt make, and doesnt hit the outside shot quite well enough to take the heat off of a SG. That being said i think that if you put him in the lineup with him and Roy at the same time, having either of them play the 1 or 2 they would be a dual threat, though i realize that probably wont be the starting lineup. He still needs to learn to get through picks and play off deffense. i d like to see a game where he had something along the line of 16 points and 10 assists, with the minutes they have him playing he could do it, and it d go a long way if he could do it consistantly. with his 6 turn overs in the game though and 4 fouls in the first half, Mcmillan didnt seem convinced during his interview during the game with the announcers that bayless was the answer they need.

Cunningham

what can i say about this guy. consistant and tough, not as tall as you might like. but he makes up for it with a good jumper and rebounding. this kid will definately make the roster this year and if things with millsap dont come to anything dont be surprised to see him getting some minutes at the 4, though he can also play the 3.

Pendergraph

also very impressed with this kid. had 12 points and 9 rebounds in not a lot of minutes. didnt show the skills that cunningham did but has bettter strength, and had one sick two handed ally opp dunk from bayless. he should make the roster too depending on how things go with sean may and millsap.

next game is wednesday against houston.

what would you like to see out of these guys this summer?
