Jazz Might Need a Loan to Keep Millsap
"The Jazz have until the end of the week to match the four-year, $32 million offer sheet that Paul Millsap signed with the Portland Trail Blazers.
As a caveat with matching the contract, Utah will have to pay Millsap $10.3 million within one week.
Unlike Paul Allen, Portland's owner, the Jazz don't have that type of cash on hand and would have to take out a loan."
Take it for what its worth, just one more day closer to keeping Millsap in my opinion.

Jazz will probably wait until Friday
Wonder if they like him enough to match even if they can’t trade Boozer?
Don't they have until Saturday?

Makes me feel kinda bad
The Miller family is a really nice family. But I would love to see us land Milsap. I guess all is far in love and the western conference arms race.

They didn't make him an offer
So I don’t feel sorry for them at all. They kinda brought this on themselves
yup. they pissed him off by telling him to go out and see what his market value is before making him an offer. their fault entirely if they lose him...
which they won’t. I am certain they will re-sign him. they can easily trade boozer before the deadline to avoid paying through the nose. they would be crazy not to sign him.

We should start a rumor that Milsap is gay
Then the Miller family wouldn’t let him be seen in their building to protect everyone’s sense of decency.
dinasour type of guys choir boys
I know we have a great young team but
I’ll still be disappointed if we don’t use this cap room. We could pick up a player near the deadline too but midseason trades usually dont end well
yea, that pau gasol trade was a real head scratcher by the lakers, right?

and that Billups trade
man did Denver ever regret that move.
Free Sergio... no really, please, take him.
That was an early-season trade, almost still off-season
If you want to trade our spare parts for Devin Harris, I have three quarters I would like to trade for your dollar
It really isn't fiscally prudent to have $10+ million in cash just buring a hole in your pocket anyway.
This isn’t really surprising. I’m sure this has already been accounted for within the Jazz organization.

They also have a new owner of sorts
Since Larry Miller died, his son I believe is now in charge.

Debt not an issue for the Jazz
The only debt they hold is a small amount on the arena. Utah is much more financially sound than most teams and won’t have trouble finding funds for the deal. Cap issues may make it painful, but this won’t be a real hurdle.
