Trade Drawer
3 team Trade Proposal surrounded around helping Utah rid themselves of Boozer and Benifiting us and Houston in the Process
Utah will Trade Carlos Boozer to the Houston Rockets
Houston will Trade Shane Battier and Carl Landry to Portland Trailblazers
Portland will Trade Travis Outlaw to the Utah Jazz
This gives Utah a expiring player who can also play, a real nice Trade exception that they can use a year from the date of the trade. Oh yeah and they can match Milsap with out going into luxory Cap hell
It gives Houston a nice Center replacement for Yao for a year, while they hope Yao will be back next year
It gives us a tough starting SF upgrade and a nice backup PF
So what do you think?

i like it
I think that sounds like a great trade, utah does not get much out of it player wise, but huge payroll relief!!!
The fact we are only giving up one player is the best part about this deal!

I don't think Houston would be comfortable with Boozer being their true center.
He’s undersized and doesn’t spend the bulk of his time at the 5.
Marvin Williams
There have been slight grumblings about bringing Marvin Williams to portland. I think this might be possible in the case that utah cannot get rid of boozer, we could trade milsap + rudy to atlanta for m. williams this letts atlanta move josh smith to SF.
Blake/Bayless
Roy/Webster
Williams/Batum
Aldridge/Pendegraft-Outlaw-Cunningham
Oden/Pryzbilla
Bibby
Johnson
Smith
Millsap
Horford

He is reportedly close to re-signing with the Hawks

If you want to trade our spare parts for Devin Harris, I have three quarters I would like to trade for your dollar
We can't trade Millsap until Dec 15
I’m not sure how I feel about Marvin Williams (don’t really know much about him), but would want to get a big upgrade from Batum/Webster if we were trading Rudy and $7.7M in cap space.
Why wouldn't we just have signed Marvin if we wanted him?
Seems silly to give up a great player unnecessarily.

i don't think that is possible
because we already have the offer sheet with milsap now and maybe if they thought they were going to get hinrich he was priority. idk more of a pipe dream than anything else, i just think marvin would add another scorer who is also a fairly good man to man defender.

You have got to be kidding, right.
Nice joke, I just missed the punch line.
looks better for Utah
than anyone else, they get rid of a big contract get to sign a better pf and a sf who is only getting better every year. we get a good defensive player who’s on the down slope and give up a great pf and sf.
Boozer isn't a center, he's a 6'9" PF
While I think the trade is fair in terms of value, I’m not sure that the players that the Rockets and Jazz get would be great fits. Boozer isn’t really much of an upgrade at center from Scola and Outlaw’s play style may clash with Sloan’s strict “play the right way” coaching.
No way the Jazz do this...
They are losing an all-star, overpaying their first-time PF starter, and adding the clone of R.Brewer to their roster. Also, two playoff teams ahead of them get better.
I totally disagree!
I think the Rockets don’t do this. They have 2 solid PF (3 if you count Hayes) and no center. Why would they give up some of their best trading chips to fill a position they don’t need to fill… and fill it with a guy who has been a walking injury report being way overpaid.
Jazz WANTED to let Boozer walk for nothing. They are currently prepared to trade Boozer for nothing if they can find a trading partner.
Blazers do this deal. Jazz do this deal. Houston rejects this deal easily.
Do the Rockets want Carlos Boozer?
If they do, it could work. I like the deal but it doesnt really take pressure off of brandon roy offensively.
If the Jazz don't match.
I think we should trade Blake and Outlaw for Hinrich.
Hinrich/Bayless
Roy/Rudy
Batum/Webster
Aldridge/Millsap
Oden/Joel
Not a bad lineup. And the bench would be SICK. Bayless, Rudy, Webster, Millsap, and Joel could probably beat a couple teams STARTING lineups.

I agree
its a pipe dream, but it would be sweet, also, we probably throw in our 1 pick next year
by winnerwinner on Jul 12, 2009 2:54 PM PDT up reply actions
I think we could do it
IF (big if) Utah doesn’t match because Outlaw and Blake are two solid players and expiring contracts. plus, i doubt they want to pay their backup point guard 9.5 million dollars. they can have claver or our 2010 first round pick if they want. i think chicago does it.
Ummmm
I thought it was made pretty clear that the Bulls don’t want Outlaw and Blake for Hinrich. I think KP’s offered a few different times. Sounds like they want Bayless in place of Blake. Which is a no deal.

If the Utah matches Millsap's contract:
Brandon Roy and Steve Blake for Tony Parker.
We have all the players to play an up-tempo style. Except that isn’t Roy’s style. It is the Spurs’ style though. The Spurs have a player we would love. Tony Parker. It would take Roy to get Parker, plus they would need a new PG to start for them. Hence Blake. Plus, Parker is an up-tempo player in a slow system. He’s good enough to be a valuable contributor anyways, but I think he would thrive in a faster paced offense. I also think Nate would go for it if his best player was suited to play that way, and Parker certainly would be.
1 Parker
1/2 Bayless
2 Rudy
2/3 Webster
3 Batum
3/4 Outlaw
4 Aldridge
4 Pendergraph
5 Oden
5 Przybilla
That a team capable of playing quickly, with everyone in the starting lineup faster than average at their position (anecdotally at least). We would still have about 4 million in salary cap space to work with as well.
It would work for the Spurs as well, with Roy able to play the SF. Their 2-3 rotation would be Roy, Jefferson and Ginobli. With Duncan/McDyess at the 4-5, them Blake would be more than serviceable.
Works for both teams. Well, at least from my perspective it does.
μὴ φοβοῦ, μόνον πίστευε.
No
I really don’t care if we could get LBJ for Roy (Well….actually), he’s the franchise player. The team chemistry revolves around him. If you ship him out and bring in a guy the team is not familiar with, the team chemistry that we have built for years will disappear just like that.
My avatar is 3 years into the future for sure...
Way to think out side the box
I have wondered if our bigs could explode with a talented passing guard that can score too. That line up looks good too, Rudy could definately expand his game in this situation.

But lets not trade the player that will hit the game winning shot in game 7 of finals.

Kinda out there
I think this summer we have to decide whether we are going to keep Joel for the long-run. This is potentially his contract year and he will no doubt be looking for a pay raise. One that we may not be able to give him because of all of our other large contracts.
Lets say the Millsap deal holds up and we use a 3-man rotation up front with Oden, Aldridge and Millsap. We also sign another center for cheep in case of injuries.
We then send Pryzbilla, Outlaw, and Bayless to Houston for Battier and Brooks.
Brooks/Blake/Mills
Roy/Fernandez
Battier/Webster/Batum
Aldridge/Millsap/Pendegraph/Batum
Oden/Millsap/Free Agent Center
First suggestion of trading JB that I think is interesting.
JB’s kind of in that no-trade category for me, but if we were to trade him I’d expect to get someone like Brooks, a young PG who has proved himself but also still exploring some potential.
"These are dreams that we have." --Rudolfo Fernandez
Too much talent and too much salary.
Houston might do Battier for Prysbilla straight up given their need at C. Portland won’t exchange Bayless for Brooks. Bayless will be as good or better than Brooks in the long run. Adding Outlaw is too much talent and too much salary. Houston cannot take back that much salary because they are over the cap.
Would Portland trade Prysbilla for Battier? Maybe, if they get Millsap but it leaves them very thin a back-up center. They would need a play to obtain another big. Battier would be a good addition, but he contributes more in the areas of character and experience than in talent. We already have a very good perimeter defender at SF.

pendegraft
is an option at backup center. he’s 6’ 10" and aldridge can play center with milsap on the floor so that leaves three players who can take minutes at center, we’d spend more time with a small/quick unit on the floor without pryz though

What about this:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kltnc8
Utah gets cap room. We get Prince. And even though I know Detroit doesn’t want to trade Prince for Boozer, I think if they got Rudy it would change their mind (even if it’s not a need at all).
This would be our team:
PG: Blake/Bayless
SG: Roy/Webster
SF: Prince/Batum
PF: Aldridge/Pendergraph
C: Oden/Przybilla
i dont know
tay is on the downside of his career.
