Are the Blazers Buddies?
I would say from all indicators they are a rather chummy lot...but what say you Blazer Edgers? I just hardly hear stories about players in the NBA or elsewhere really doing a TON together, they just seem to go off to their own little worlds most of time, back to their home cities to practice/train, then more or less show up, back slap each other a few times and collect their money. Such is life in proffesional sports...
Any stories about pro/con relationships with any players? Or Coaches/assistants and players? Or even Mike Rice and players, do they REALLY love the man as much as I do?
Was Steve Blake and Bayless seen chowing down at the Agency exchaning high fives over ribs!!?!
Was Broy stood up for a round of Ice Skating at Loyd Center by Mr. Oden?!?!
GO!

NO BLAZERS ICE SKATING!!!
Hello… these are all men over 6’2. When bones break, they take a while to heal. We do not want the Blazers on ice EVER. Luckily, I hear El Nino is forecast for this coming winter, so maybe less worry.
None of this ice skating talk please.
Not like the Utah Jazz... it's about REAL jazz. Go Dawgs, Go Blazers!
Lord have mercy.

"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.
"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

I dont care if they hold hands and take long walks on Lincoln City beaches.
All I want them to do is win, they can do it hugging or they can do it throwing fists.
Maybe not throwing fists, but you see what I mean.
Addressing team cohesiveness will come when there is actually ripples rising in the lake of Blazer Culture.
I think they like eachother much more then the average NBA team. Most of them are in the same age group, and when growing together you generally develop strong bonds. Espessily when you succeed in a high pressure atmosphere of the NBA. Just watching this team grow you can see the bond they have built and are continuing to build.
I like where things are going. Call me the Anticanzano.

You folks who played on teams probably know
In the military we didn’t necessarily like everybody, but usually had a close friend or three. That never stops the young men and women from performing complicted tasks together, especially when you have strong leader in the vein of Roy, Przybilla or Mcmillan. I’d have to say they’re a really tight group, but not necessarily friends.
Here here.
"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."
I had the chance to go to a game this year in Milwalkie.
As I was there on business. Fell into an opportunity that got me a courtside seat for a bargain. At the end of the game, which the Blazers won, I observed Pryz, Lamarcus, Outlaw, Blake, and I think Frye (though not 100% on him its been some time ago) in a circle hands on each others back heads down in a group prayer. No doubt in my mind that was what it was. I dont think that I am going out on a limb here by saying that this team does have a number of Christains on it, (see the hands clasping the chain and cross tat on Lamarcus and Joel). This, just one other thing that brings players closer together and certainly encourages players to be good examples and stay out of trouble. More power to them as far as I am concerned.
Good point indeed. Religion usually brings together sports team more than you think.
