PrintI hope this isn’t too long. I was misinformed that Gale Storm who also died recently (06/27/09) was a member of the Love Boat Cast and Crew. But in the process of googling her noticed that 520 people have guest starred on "The Love Boat".
Here a list of those cruise ship passengers.

There is a new virus out there that hit me while editing this post.
Be very careful, it looked like a picture of my own software and I almost bit on the offer.
It had a picture of my drives and showed viruses infecting everywhere and that I need to download this software right now. It thought it was windows telling me to download the software.

I was editing this post (former post, now deleted) when a virus hit my computer.
After it was posted I went back to highlight familiar names because there are a ton, That’s when the virus hit and it messed up the page for everyone.
There is a possibility it was/is related to the length (520 lines plus short intro).
As I am now going to bed someone please have a mod delete this post if it causes a problem. I totally enjoyed reading some of the names in the post so I hope length is not the issue.

LaMarcus Aldridge is hoping to negotiate a contract extension with the Blazers by October 31.
If the two sides are unable to come to an agreement by that date, Aldridge will become a restricted free agent next summer. He is managed by super agent Arn Tellem, which could mean negotiations will get dicey.

once a team gains respect league wide, they get all-stars. West wasn’t a 20/10 guy and he made two straight teams.
i expect Duncan to take a center spot (wasn’t he a PF last year?) and West to miss the team, clearing the way for Durant and LMA.
Nene might make it as a center, but Duncan and West will most likely not be western PF all-stars next year.

If he learns to better drive to the basket and grabs 1-2 more rebounds per game he could be that player. He is already very efficient for a player taking a high proportion of his shots from mid-range and not a lot from three.
Then why did he keep mentioning how hypersensitive
LaMarcus is to real and perceived slights? If I were LaMarcus, Quick would be headlining my hit list for that!

I've ALWAYS said he was my first choice to add to our roster
(please don’t look through past comments, just take my word for it).
Yeah… hmm. Well, I’ve always thought (and so do most people) that it WOULD certainly help us offensively. He IS a point forward, can bring the ball up the court and initiate the offense, and like some suggest that could open up more playing time for Rudy next to Roy, since all can take turns being a PG-type person (unless Rudy still can’t handle that).
He can create offense, and hit shots, although his percentages don’t match his rep.
But, he would help us offensively.
IT’S JUST THAT, we need defense. So, I can’t say I understand it.
The Hedo rollercoaster that started during the playoffs at a peak and is now at a dip with Blazer fans is misleading, because it seems like many people think he isn’t even good at offense. And he’s good, but not main-player good. He’s just versatile, but not great. Over the lack of production we’ve had offensively from our SF spot the last few years, it would be a big upgrade.
Like with most things KP, I’ll wait and see if this is THE plan, or just part of a bigger plan. I just don’t see us going after Hedo, and then that is it. Of course, I didn’t see us SERIOUSLY going after Hedo. I hope it is part of the game.
But if Hedo it is, then Hedo it is. Good offensive fit.

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that free agents Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva flew to Detroit to meet with Joe Dumars on Wednesday.
Indications are that both players are going to sign with the Pistons, and you have to wonder if Dumars fired coach Michael Curry on Tuesday in an effort to make his team more desirable to the pair. Nothing has been finalized, but it looks like both players will be Pistons next season. But we’re still not sure how shooting guards Gordon and Rip Hamilton are going to play together, unless Detroit plans on using Gordon as the sixth man.

I noticed all the cast members from Gilligan’s Island have made appearances on the Love Boat with the exception of the Professor, which is probably not odd considering even Gilligan had better luck with the ladies then the Professor did. Just useless info.

But that's with the assumption you have Chris Paul on your team.
So, in that scenario, the interior D/rebounding is secondary to a great PG, correct? Unlike any other sport, basketball seems to have the potential for one player to totally redirect the success of a given team, e.g. Lebron.

I think it's an interesting thought.
But, I wonder if it’s better to have the Defensive Player of the Year on your team than a player from the NBA First Team. Are championships built from a super star with a defensive supporting cast? Or, can you render a champion from interior D and rebounding?
I guess I have this sinking feeling that we won’t be real contenders until Oden is competing for that defensive title.

Without the inside/outside tandem
I don’t like the Paul trade. Even though he would be gangbusters with Roy, we’d be another team great on the perimeter and NO ONE inside.
Teams with NO ONE inside don’t usually win the title.
I’m not really in the mood for the hypothetical Oden vs Paul debate though, so I’ll step out. I pick Oden, because he, along with Roy, has a better chance to win a title than having Roy and Paul. If Oden is as good as I think his eventual basement is, anyways.
I would get behind the ol’ fashioned PAUL for ROY debate in theory, because Paul is a step above Roy still, but it is sacrilicious. I don’t think Paul and Roy and no one but LMA inside is anything but a really good, non-title-winning team.

In general
Except for what I think are flukes, titles are won with dominant inside play and good to great perimeter players.
Jordan is an exception not likely to be duplicated, and the Pistons both times.
Roy/Paul/LMA would have a tougher road to the title than what I think a grown-up Oden and a still-great Roy and a more experienced LMA would have.
I know that you think those are exceptions
but in the past 20 years, those exceptions account for 8 championships. That seems to be a lot for an exception.
Remove Jordan from it
And it’s a lot less exceptions.
Trying to duplicate the Jordan model is folly, I say.
Here is my take on what it takes to win a championship
Rebounding, defense and being able to get some scoring from the post.
If you look at the Bulls titles and most (all?) of the so called exceptions to the “dominant post player” rule, they had those things. The Bulls were a good rebounding team and played excellent defense, and were able to get post scoring out of Jordan (Tex Winter often said that Jordan was in essence the premier post weapon of his time)
So perhaps the Jordan teams weren’t exceptions to the championship formula in that they had all of the ingredients, they simply got them from different positions than is/was typical.

That is VERY true, Jordan scored a bunch in the halfcourt by posting up.
Basically, I see post offense as the most reliable/efficient form of halfcourt scoring, and I think you need to be able to score when the defense buckles down and you’re forced into the halfcourt. Jordan could score either way, and like you say he scored a bunch in the post.
So yeah, I see that as support for the traditional big man/little man combo, but in a different form.
I like when Roy posts up, I wish he’d post up more!
If Lebron ever figures out
That the long 3 sucks, but the big muscle post up easy shot rocks, we will all be in trouble.

I think if we’re relying on LMA to be our championship post scorer, we don’t really have a championship post scorer.
I love him in the post and I want him to stay down there, where he is best, but he hasn’t shown he can get heaps of easy inside buckets yet. Oden, as a raw rookie, could.
Until LMA is taking a MUCH bigger chunk of his shots inside and going to the FT line more than 4 times a game (or whatever it is), I don’t think we can count on him to be the post scorer for a championship team. Gasol is a better post scorer than LMA is… or at least, more inclined to stay down there and score where he is best.
But I agree, ya need one good low post scorer

You could argue the recent Pistons team...

I would like some "sports economist" to get on answering a few questions about the NBA
I know the guys from Freakonomics Levitt & Dubner (or something like that) have written about it a bit. Others too. The inventor of the Win Score is an economist by training if I’m not mistaken, but he is a bit too extreme in his views of being right about his theories. Some key questions that I’m currently pondering might be:

So the market is fairly limited, and supply of talented players who could be considered an adequate substitute is surely larger (players over in Europe both international and former NBA, players out of college every year both drafted and undrafted replacing older players, d-league star players who would be qualified, etc.). Who has the better negotiating position? Sounds like the teams.
- Yet supply of stars as opposed to “average replacement players” is scarce, hence we are talking about the same top free agents and trade targets over and over again. Who has the better negotiating position here? The stars, right? Yet in economic terms they are like a luxury good, so a cost-conscious owner could substitute them with a player who just fulfills basic necessities. Problem is that not all owners have the same level of cost-consciousness, and it only takes one to overpay and ruin the market (say Orlando for Lewis).

Good point on 3. The owner of the Clippers made a ton of money in terms of managing his franchise but will never win a title with his modus operandi. Some owners like e.g. Mark Cuban don’t care about losing money from a business perspective, but so far that also hasn’t helped him to a title. And because the market is strictly regulated by the CBA he can’t employ all resources he might want to.

Doesn’t that assume that he is potentially missing out on work in order to mow the lawn? I don’t see how that if on the off chance that Beckham does mow the lawn, that if he got a call for some advertising shoot that they would say “We can’t wait for you to finish mowing the lawn”. Thus there is no income lost due to his lawn mowing habits. Right?
Mr. Mankiw (former economic advisor to GWB) even assumes that Beckham is so athletic he could mow his lawn twice as fast as the boy next door named “Alejandro”. Yet in that time he could film an ad for Adidas and earn 10k. The boy could earn $20 at a tapas bar instead of mowing Mr. Beckham’s lawn. Those are their respective opportunity costs. Mr. Beckham has an absolute advantage in lawn mowing since he is the fastest lawn mower alive, but Alejandro has the comparative advantage because his opportunity costs are much lower. So they should “trade”, and David should pay Alejandro more than 20 and less than 10,000 so both are better off.
Yup, economists make up weird stories to illustrate their principles.

You only need to listen to the first half, but that dude called him on it and all Simmons could do was try to turn it around on the other guy. Simmons was squirming and double talking. Have you ever seen Bubba Ho-Tep with Bruce Campbell? It’s basically a movie about how Bruce is the “real” Elvis who had an Elvis impersonator take over for his life because he was sick of being famous (and zombies and other Bruce Campbell-y stuff). But I totally like to think that the real MJ disappeared in the late 90’s only to be replaced by this oddball impersonator. Mobile phone companies want to give me free cellphones with a 1 or 2 year contract all the time to make their subscriber numbers look good (on the other hand it kills their ARPU if I don’t use it, so don’t know if they are happy with me as a customer). Last year I took two, got my refund up front, paid monthly minimum fees, and got a PlayStation or iPod which I sold immediately along with the phones for a profit.

Hedo = + 3.5 net positive PER when playing SF (3.2 on PF). That’s not bad, but e.g. worse than Rudy (on SG) already. Travis has a +3.1 when playing PF. Nic has -1.6 on SF but is still incredibly young.
Gerald Wallace has +5.9. Trade deadline target Jefferson has +3.4 and +3.7 on PF.

but casinos doing sports betting are following Free Agency as closely as we are. These signings can significantly change things…
There are some big time contributors that are available this year, so much so that future betting for next year could be affected by where players sign. The Lakers and Cavaliers are the early favorites next season, but that could change over the next couple of weeks.
One of the most attractive players available in this free agent class in Hedo Turkoglu. He was an integral part of the Orlando Magic’s run to the NBA Finals last year. The Magic will most likely not have the money to re-sign him, so he will be taking his talents elsewhere.
The first team that is courting Turkoglu is Portland. They have a good young nucleus and the addition of Turkoglu could propel them towards the top of the Western Conference next season.
Nothing groundbreaking really, but it’s something I hadn’t really thought of.
Vegas is pretty good at predicting also

KP's credibility is a concern here too.
He brought Rudy over (and Rudy sacrificed plenty of short-term income) partly due to promises from KP and Nate about his role. I’ve always presumed that they kept their promise, there were no complaints and Rudy had a fair amount of playing time.
But if Rudy’s unhappy because he feels the promises aren’t being kept, this may be an issue for future overseas prospects, who will rely on similar promises to buy out their contract and take less short-term money to come to the NBA.

I think the complaints are strange, seeing as Rudy is a better fit at the 2 than the 3. I mean, he’s a great 2/3 combo, just as Roy’s a great 1/2(/3?) combo, but I don’t see it being Rudy’s style complaining about this. You’d think a guy like him would be open to the competition and would think, “Hey, I’ll beat this guy out.”
But maybe there is in fact another layer to it…?

I have a set 8 hours a day and usually get off around 1:00 – 1:30AM but am currently covering for the graveyard guy who is on vacation.
Problem is all the senior engineers work days as in most places and I cover anywhere from 3 to 8 (sometimes more) of those engineers while they’re gone each night depending on the night. So between me and the grave guy there are only two of us who do this job (holding the place together while the big guns are gone), making vacations hard to cover. I can’t shift my hours during his vacation because I still need to have pass-down with the day shifters – so I just work long hours.

This steam eruption of Mount Saint Helen’s is from about late 2004 to early 2005, I think?
But still, I should go get my 3rd & 4th year and join the big boys as they no longer allow AS degrees into senior engineer ranks. Seems like I’m always one or two years behind what they use to allow. In 1999 I worked hard and got a 2 year degree in one year, even with high honors. That intense year soured (totally burnt out on school) me a little and I passed by an opportunity to finish school in 2001-2002.

I took my wife up to see Mt. Saint Helens a while back.
I watched the 1980 eruption, so I thought it would be interesting for her to see what I saw. She was a little freaked out about the experience, but at the same time was really interested in the exhibits and information. But she couldn’t resist the fear that it could erupt while we were there. I explained that, while it’s never impossible (hey, it’s not), it’s at least unlikely.
Less than a week after we left, the picture above happened.
I’m not sure she’ll ever go back there. :)
Yeah, for the same reason I don’t up there, tho we usually have early warnings.
I think that photo is about 40 miles from here, pretty sure it’s not over 50.

i actually thought it was fun. I’d be a student forever if I could. Psychology, business, history…it’s all pretty fun stuff
Oh I’d love to be a student forever.
But one thing I can assure you of, getting two years in one year is not a picnic, eat sleep school is all you can do. And it sucks when others are going to Hawaii or some place for 3-5 credits, and you’re slaving in the higher sciences. I had to take 25 credits a couple quarters to get it done.
If there were no such thing as bills, I’d be in even now.

yeh dang...90 credits in one year is crazy
assuming you worked summer, that’s 22 or 23 credits per quarter…not fun.
I took 17 one quarter, and easily coulda’ done another 5 credit class….but then another quarter I only took 13 and was working my butt off for a sadistic music teacher who thought everyone was going for a Ph.D in the field haha
But yeah, congrats on doing that and grabbing high honors. Our class was like 800 and there was only like 18 of us that grabbed high honors. I was surprised
My degree was about 124 or so, but I had close to 30 before I started
Yeah, totally depends on the teacher. i was doing about 12 hrs of homework on the weekends for one teacher, I hated him.

This year my schedule has been eat, sleep, school, work and you feel like you're going to crack
Next school year (october) I think I’m either going to quit my job or offer to only work 3 days a week and see if they bite.
Here our teachers can give us high honours in a 1 per 25 students ratio, but it’s voluntary, and some teacher don’t think anyone deserves high honours, or give them to only 1-2 people, so it really is an honour to get them :)

That’s interesting, now that you mention it I’m not really sure what ours is based on.
I think it’s just a set number. I thought it was 3.9 GPA, but I received a 3.89 and still got in.
I was shooting for high honors from the start, I was really upset. One of my classes had a lab which followed. The teacher was trying to set an example because some of the students routinely came in 10 – 15 minutes late to the lecture portion. Well completely after the fact if you were more that 1 sec late on 3 occasions he knocked off .4 from your grade. I think I was 10 secs late about 3 times.
Apparently he had a watch and marked everyone for the whole term.
As it turns out he deducted from the lab and the lecture. So both of my 4.0’s turned into 3.6’s. 10 credits is a large enough chunk that I thought he knocked me out of high honors, and would have if 3.9 was the cutoff. I was on pace for 3.92 and kind of just threw my hands up in the air when he did that.
Looking back on it, I would have argued against the Lab deduction since I was already there having attended the lecture. Aarrrrggg
Sorry for venting, I just couldn’t see how barely missing start time by a few ticks of the clock was equivalent to others who were late every day, sometimes up to half an hour.
However, he was a good teacher.

The only reason I started to work was because it was very good experience for me
At a law firm, I get paid (even though I’m only an intern) and I get to write-up a good portion of law suits and answers to complaints. Also purchase and rental agreements, the works.
But after seeing how tough this year was on me I don’t think I can handle the up coming year.
This year 9-2 p.m work; 4 to 9 p.m class
Next year 9.2 p.m work; 4 to 10 p.m ….. I’m not very strong physically, I’m not sure I can handle this, in fact, I’m pretty sure I can’t….

at least the next 3-4 years of my life are going to be as a student and I’ve already been a uni student for 5 years… Not that I mind it, it’s a very conscious choice, but still.

not the cheapest route but i’m finally studying exactly what I want inside the field of music. Life is too short to hurry.

That happened to me in a completely different department. When I was about to turn 16 the beer and wine drinking age in Spain was raised from 16 to 18. It’s not a very good comparison, but I know how you feel :)
I don’t’ think sour was a very good choice of words on my part.
I just could not fathom going back, whereas if I would have taken 2 years to do it, when the next opportunity opened up I likely wouldn’t have given it a second thought.
I don’t think the drinking age has ever stopped anyone I know.
But if you get carded, and all your friends make it in, you could spend 4 hours in the parking lot if you were a long way from home.

But player value wise? And defensively? And on a young, impressionable team?

Memphis problems are way deeper than Zach, it’s more about coaching and accountability of players. Zach won’t help them with that but I like this move better than offering a 50 mil 5 year contracto Millsap or David Lee.

But Milsap is a LOT better than Z-Bo. As good of a rebounder, tough defense inside, not a ballhog, doesn’t think he is a superstar…
Memphis problems are worse than Z-Bo, but Z-Bo doesn’t help them at all. They had scorers who don’t defend or pass already. Now they have a max salary one.
It's not as if he's gonna ruin an already bad team
But they got hard earned cap space, a young team with some good talent, and they tie up that much money and offensive attention into a guy who has only played for awful teams as a focal point.
There’s a reason his teams are bad, and it’s because he’s an interior player who plays no defense, and a black hole on offense. He is an AMAZING post scorer, but it his nice numbers there hide how much he truly hurts a team.
I think that the team that pays Millsap

Remember that Zach’s contract is just for 2 more years.

It’s not a move of a team that’s looking at a championship in the long run, so in some ways it’s a bad move, but they’ll suck less in the next two years and that’s what they wanted.
As a starter, he was better than LMA
Now, I think LMA has more potential, but this recent season, when Millsap started (when Boozer was out), he was better than LMA.
Millsap averaged over 16/10 as a starter, with a block, a steal, and 2.4 assists. He shot 54% from the field, and 70% from the line. Went to the line about 6 times a game.
If LMA had the same line, we’d have no problem giving him 10+ million a year. Whoever gets Millsap for ~10 million is getting a good deal… though it’d be better if they got a good PG to help him out.

A Lady a work asked me if I knew that Gale Storm had also died (referring to Ed, MJ, etc.). I said who is she, and of course she said she played on the Love Boat. I said is that the one that had drug problems and could hardly show up to the set (having googled this a couple years ago). She said no, she always played next to the captain.
With 520 guests you’d think Storm might have taken one cruise, but no.
I feel a little relieved I missed the 60’s cause this lady clearly isn’t in touch with reality.

Is it ok to say that about people who are not BE members? Such as “Nate is an idiot” or “KP is an idiot”? I mean, it’s not ok to attack members, but it is ok if they’re public figures?
For some reason, that one bothered me during the great meltdown of the last 24 hours.

but in general, yeah, ad hominem = bad.
Calling Nate or KP an idiot isn’t necessarily something you can get in trouble for, but it definitely makes you look kinda’ stupid. And if you’re “that guy” Dave talks about in the conversation rules, always stirring up trouble just to stir it up, then you’re going to eventually get your just reward.
If you call KP stupid and give 10 good reasons why with stats and analysis, fine. But if you’re just saying
KP IS STOOOOOOOOOPIDDDD
then I’d classify that as trolling. A comment deletion or two, maybe a warning, and then maybe even banishment, depending on your history.
But it all really depends…For example, if news breaks that we sign Hedo and you say
“$%# it! I can’t believe this! WHAT IS KP THINKING IS HE STUPID?”
but you’re a regular commenter who doesn’t usually stir up trouble, then that’s fine. It’s just a gut-reaction that probably doesn’t even reflect your true feelings. But if you’ve just signed up for BE and you just run around saying
“KP IS STUPID! HEDO SUXXX!” and don’t offer anything else, then it’s just a matter of time before the troll-killas show up and 1) warn you and maybe even 2) ban you (if you don’t change your trollish ways)
To make a long story short, it’s the attitude behind the comment. We don’t have set rules, but between the community flagging and the seven of us communicating in constant email dialog (we’ve got 125+ emails between the seven of us just in the last week), we usually keep it pretty consistent and fair (at least, we try).
As always, emailing us is always welcome, and it really helps when you guys flag something you don’t like.

yeah, you don't have to feel like it's your job or something to hunt them down, but if you are just bumping along and run into something you think is iffy, just flag it.
helps us out a bunch. I’d much rather read through the 25 flagged comments than 8 threads with 97 comments in each of them.

here’s why:
Harris would be a coup for the Blazers, but I’m not convined that we would give up three of our bench guys for him. I personally would do the deal, but KP has proved to be more hesitant to move young talent.
New Jersey can’t trade a young Harris on a very affordable contract for even younger pieces…. that would hurt their already low attendance.
I’d love to be proven wrong, it’s just rarre for a young star on a cheap deal to be moved.

What is the deal with really short responses to a complicated suggestion. For example, someone writes a really long trade scenario, or how a coach should change something, and someone has to jump in and say “naw, that’ll never work” or “I disagree.” I just picture the original poster sitting there going, “Oh, well that settles it then. You disagree. Thanks for that.”
Maybe I just think lowly enough of my own opinion that I don’t think anyone gives a crap if I “see it happening” or not.

yah, it helps us keep track of who the trouble makers are.
if we see that a dude has been banned on 19 other blogs on SB Nation, we can see that he’s obviously gonna’ be a spammer or a troll. Those are the dudes to keep a sharp eye on.

I don’t even bother with the fanposts anymore. That should be a sign that there should be some regulation.

I mean, if we have 5000 Hedo posts, this whole mod thing isn’t working out that well. The mods were paying enough attention to ban S4E— you’d think they could somehow keep this Hedo thing under some semblance of control.
They would have less comments to sort through
if they would delete the repeat posts. Problem solved and everyone is happier.

Ariza's not much of a playmaker right?
I’d really like another playmaker, unless a new PG covers that role.
another playmaker would be nice, but defense is a higher priority
plus Ariza fits our window better.
Ariza has a better PER (a mostly offensive stat) and is a vastly superior defender
Also, he’d be getting 32-40 instead of 50.
Yeah the salary difference is indeed a big deal.
I’m accepting there’s no perfect fit for the SF position, so I’m not thrilled at the idea of overpaying for it.
You know what my biggest problem with Ariza is?
In order to personally get caught up on his abilities, I’d have to watch Laker games.
The Lakers were on a lot of late games, so I ended up watching.
Ariza attacks the basket, plays hard-nosed defense, and knows how to hustle.
I've seen his numbers, but haven't really seen him play much
So I’ll take your word for it on this one. I wonder how many minutes Batum would get next year. He may go back into full learning mode for a season, with minimal minutes.
I don't think he is all that better than Nic, just a little ahead in his development
But two Nics is better than none :)
Anybody else get the feeling the Blazers are not counting on Martell to contribute anything significantly next season (hate to tell some hardcore Martell fans I expected that).
of all groups of fanboys, Martell's is the smallest, I'm pretty sure.

they were out in force after his 14 assist quarter, saying he was on the same level as the likes of Rondo and Harris.
Nic has a higher ceiling. It’d be intriguing to have both, some very interesting lineups. Batum-Ariza-Roy-LMA-Oden and such.
Would you want to pay him 40 million though?
He was very good in the playoffs and has some big buckets and defensive plays, but 8 million per year already seems a bit high considering his role.
After Hedo is signed, the market for Ariza reduces.
So if Hedo goes to Toronto, it gets interesting. The Lakers are maxing at the mid-level exception, so I can’t imagine Ariza signing for less than $7M…. $8M is pretty likely.
I'm having a hard time believing Ariza is worth more than that.
But I just don’t know him well enough to be sure.
maybe he has some uber-advanced stat. If we do sign him, I’ll learn to be okay with it as long as it doesn’t affect team chemistry.

Perhaps Hedo is far and away the biggest improvement in their system.

I have to think KP has something more than PER he’s looking at when he’s rating Hedo and considering a big payday.
He certainly looks at how Hedo would fit and make others better
I could see that in terms of pick and rolls he might make Oden a bit better and take pressure off Roy with scoring. But if we want to improve scoring and draw more fouls and play better defense, a trade for a younger Gerald Wallace would e.g. make more sense.
Hedo takes as many bad shots as Outlaw does
and he turns it over a lot. He is a pretty good playmaker, but 10 mil for him just seems insane.
You know you want Hedo, Colangelo. Don't let yourself be outbid.
I believe in Colangelo— my fellow Cornell alum will take one for the team and make Hedo an offer he can’t refuse.

Sorry Snake, we talked about it at the beginning of the day, and have been emailing throughout
We decided we’d try a day just letting things fly, with very little moderation of the sidebar. We figured start with a light hand, and then tighten the reigns if need be.
Obviously, it’s gotten whack, so I went ahead and posted a reminder, and I think we’re going to try to keep a tighter grip on it tomorrow.
We have been in constant communication, and we’re doing what we can, but it’s tricky business deciding what to axe and what to let live.
If anything looks obviously repetitive, just flag it as spam and we’ll take a look at it. I just set it up so I get notified instantly when someone posts a new fanpost, so anytime I’m online I’ll be keeping track of what’s showing up in the sidebar.
We’re trying, but this is one of those crazy times of year. The sidebar is going to get hammered, no matter which way you look at it.
