Who is Roy going to endorse in the draft?
Yesterday on Wheels at Work, Wheels alluded to a PF in this year's draft that Roy has been trying to convince the Blazers need to pick up. Any chance it's not Jon Brockman? I know we had a fanpost on Brock before and the general thought was the community didn't want him, but does Roy's(hypothetical) endorsement change that? This is the same vouching for Batum, that worked out well.

Report out of UW is...
Brockman didn’t work out at the combine because he knows he’s a second round pick of the Blazers…
I think jksnake’s head just exploded…

Ya, I heard something from a friend of Brock's family.
He said they had a deal in place with a team as a 2nd round pick. He didn’t specify the team but Portland makes sense.
no, my head would explode if we took him in round 1
if we take him in the 2nd round, I’ll be surprised but there will be no head explosions.
Here's a thought...
Trade Sergio + #24 + #57 to New York for #8…
Trade Outlaw + #8 to Memphis for #2…
Draft Jon Brockman at #2…

B-Rock the B-Roy!
This is how we can show Rudy how loyal to him as the best Spaniard in the NBA: By passing on Rubio! That way he will have the confidence to light Stern’s pants on fire by winning the championship! POINTS IN FACE! POINTS IN FACE!
Take him with our last pick in the second round.
He’s a banger, hard worker, and a four year player. I think he could fill in as the energy guy and rebounder at backup power forward. If not, oh well. Its juat a late second round pick.
Second round pick is fine with me.
No guaranteed money, let him play in summer league, send him to Idaho during the season.

If Portland takes Jon Brockman with even one of its low-end picks at 55 or 56, I'll roll my eyes in disgust.
In no particular order, here’s my list of potential second-round picks at power forward who I’ve ranked ahead of Brockman on my draft board. I, by the way, included neither combo forwards (e.g., Derrick Brown, Damion James, DaJuan Summers, DeMarre Carroll, et al.) nor the vast amount of European options.
GUYS I WANT
Taj Gibson
Jeff Pendergraph
GUYS I DON"T WANT, BUT WOULD RATHER HAVE THAN BROCKMAN
Joel Heytvelt
Jeff Adrien
Ahmad Nivins
Luke Harangody
Dante Cunningham
Alade Aminu
Goran Suton
Robert Dozier
Shawn Taggart
Leo Lyons
Well, okay there was somewhat of an order there. Regardless of that, however, my point remains the same.
Gibson would be nice and is probably available at 38
Pendergraph got owned by Blair in the workout video from the Kings.
Okay, so that draws my one fear that Jeff Pendergraph can't handle NBA-caliber post players ...
in one-on-one matchups defensively. Well, with that noted, Taj Gibson should be targeted with either the 32nd pick or 38th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.
Y’know, though, if Pendergraph were just a couple inches bigger he’d be in a better position to defend and, perhaps, even outrebound guys like Blair. Alas, that’s not the case.
My draft board is a little different...
Guys I want
Jon Brockman
Luke Harangody
Guys I Would Rather Have Other Than Jon Brockman
DeJuan Blair
Joel Freeland
Blake Griffin
Shaquille O’Neal (circa 1995)
Joey Harrington
In all seriousness though I was being completely ridiculous when I said we had a deal with Brockman. I just like how you can just drop his name and immediately rile up the mob…

Joey, Joey, Joey!!!
"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."
Brockman could fill a role
He would be a great practice body. He is a guy who would bang Aldridge and Oden in practice like there’s no tomorrow. It would toughen them both up and give them more of an gametime feel.
He could be our Rudy
as in Notre Dame Rudy…..one day, they’ll let him dress down.

Go Blazers!!
hmmm
I was listening yesterday, and I heard Wheels say Roy had told him of a PF he would like to see Portland get, but I don’t remember Wheels say anything about it necessarily being through the draft. My assumption all along was it was a guy currently in the league.
I may have missed the part where Wheels said it was through the draft I suppose
How did you guys win that?
