I liked the caption to the photo in the story through Google Translator:

Freeland greets Haislip after a party.

More money for JF in Europe
and the Blazers need a veteran big man who has extensive playoff experience

Freeland would still be a nice third stringer to have on the team, especially as he would get to work with the Blazer training staff.

What's the rule on stashing draft picks in Europe?
How many years can the Blazers sit on Freeland’s draft rights without bringing him over?

Can we get a good translation
The translation I used wasn’t too clear. What i read doesn’t mention him not coming to the NBA. Is he scheduled to play in summer league

Marca says there´s an agreement between Freeland and Unicaja, so if it´s true Joel will play in ACB next season at least.
The agreement has not been made public yet. The rest of the story is about Kalise Gran Canaria´s reaction against that agreement, maybe matching Unicaja´s offer.

amlmart1, thanks for posting this
The Google translation is hard to understand. My translation says something like:
Translation: “Unicaja tied Joel Freeland Gran Canaria and promises war”
“If the canaries exert a right of Unicaja and continue in its efforts to punch the pivot, both clubs would have to sit to negotiate.”
Comment: Go ahead, canaries .. punch the pivot! After all, isn’t it good to negotiate?
Translation: “There is also the possibility that Unicaja request now negotiate a takeover and both clubs are to speak before throwing a rope over it now is quite tense.”
Comment: Well .. no negotiation is worth throwing a rope over it!
Now I can see why wars are fought over lesser misunderstandings!

Does this mean Haislip's leaving Unicaja?
Unicaja has a plethora of big men (Boniface N’Dong, who seems to have wowed them, Scottish ex-NBA’er Robert Archibald and Haislip) – where’s the room for him?
I know Haislip is a FA, and maybe N’Dong’s emergence has made him want out.

Who'd win a basketball-related bar room brawl between ...
a Scot (i.e., Robert Archibald), a Brit (i.e., Joel Freeland), or an Irishman (i.e., Pat Burke)?
That’s truly a tough question.

Haislip is a FA both in the NBA and ACB
Unicaja will probably offer him an extension, but he’s free to go wherever he wants

Boniface N'Dong?

What are the implications here for people who favor bringing him over for next season?

Our backup PF should be able to also play center, or we need another third center
Might make David Lee more attractive, though not undersized for the PF spot he is smallish for the C spot.

One aspect of it is that if he continues to improve[and he will]
His value as a trade chip goes up,I have no problem with him playing Euro Ball for a couple more years although he will count as .8 mil on the cap,it kind of depends on how bad he wants to play in the NBA because its not a huge difference in $’s for him over the next 4 years
