If The Blazers Were...
If The Blazers Were MMA Fighters.
Inspired by quezadaz post If The Blazers Were Superheros Who Would They Be?? and tonights Faber vs. Brown 2 fight I thought this would be fun
Greg Oden: Big, looks mean but he's really a nice guy, with some more experience he could be dominate, tons of hype coming out of college.

Kimbo Slice: Big, looks mean but he's really a nice gut, with some more experience he could be dominate, tons of hype coming from his Youtube fights.

Lamarcus Aldridge: Good at just about everything, but not great at anything just yet, funny and energetic, always smiling, great teammate, has a chance to be really special.

Rashad Evans: Good at almost everything, but hasnt mastered anything just yet, always smiling, has a chance to be really special.

Nic Batum: Long, strong, quiet, but his play speaks for him, could hebe unstoppable one day?

Miguel Angel Torres: Long, strong, he is quiet, but his fighting speaks for itself, is he unstoppable now?

Brandon Roy: What doesnt the guy do right? He is great at everything on the court, he wants his championship right now, can make a play/win a game in ways no one else can, not afraid of anyone, could be one of the greatest ever, has the backing of an entire city (Portland).

Urijah Faber: Is great at everything in the cage, he wants his chanpionship back right now, wins fights in ways no one else could, not afraid of anyone, could be (already is) one of the greatest ever, has the backing of an entire city (Sacramento).

Jerryd Bayless: Fairly one-dimensional (right now), EXPLOSIVE, good defense, trains harder than anyone, short arms (lol)

Marcus Hicks: Fairly one-dimensional, explosive, trains hard, short arms.

Joel Pryzbilla: Tough as nails, never gives up, would through down anytime, Vanilla Gorilla

Lodune Sincaid: Alright I dont know anything about this dude, but his nickname is Vanilla Gorilla thats good enough right??

Travis Outlaw: Shows flashes of excellence, but he also makes too many mistakes, his fans are die-hard and so are those that dislike him, is very versatile, still a chance he could be very good.
Diego Sanchez: Very versatile, one day he looks like a champ and the next day a chump, his fans love him, but obviously haters hate him, still a chance he could be very good/great.

Steve Blake: Technically sound, great guy that you want to root for, under-rated, under-valued (IMO).

Matt Serra: Technically sound, guy you cant help but root for, under-rated at times.

Martell Webster: Shown that he could be really good, but also hasnt shown enough. (Jury is still out)

Thiago Alves: To me Thiago has shown some great stuff, but I just need to see more. (Kinda like Martell)

Rudy Fernandez: Pure energy, unorthodox, tough, doesnt back down, fan favorite, cult following.

Forrest Griffin: Pure energy, unorthodox, tough, doesnt back down, fan favorite, cult following.

Sergio Rodriguez: Could be very good, but makes too many mistakes, very quick, goofy, Blazer fans either love him or hate him

Jens Pulver: Was very good, but makes way too many mistakes, quick and explosive, goofy, you either love him or hate him.

Roy= Randy Couture
maybe Couture 10 years ago, but Couture is washed up now.
If were going strictly by nicknames then Batum could= Chieck Kongo “The French Sensation”

Comparing Oden to Kimbo slice makes me hate you

LOL
I figured someone would say that I am not a Slice fan, but who does Oden compare to?

Brock Lesnar
Rough start considering he lost to Mir on his Debut. They’re both beasts with lots of potential.
I like many of the comparisons even though I don't know most of the fighters
Just by looks and described fighting style.
I don't get MMA
Too much half naked men spooning and pressing their sweaty bodies on one another for my taste.
I would probably agree w/ you Tom, but...
BJ Penn’s gym is located about 300 feet from my workplace, and I would fear for my life if he or any of his army of ninjas-in-training ever caught wind that I was bad-mouthing ’em.

I don't doubt any one of them could kick my butt
I just hope that they would do it with some punches instead intimate hot sweaty man on man MMA touching.

Joyce Gracie proved that
if you can’t handle the hot sweaty man touching…then you have no business being in the ring.
The glory of MMA is largely lost as all martial arts styles have morphed together into today’s fighters. No single style can win without training in other styles too. I miss the karate guy (who couldn’t grapple) going up against the wrestler (who wouldn’t know a good punch) mono-e-mono.
If a blazer was a sandwitch
I think Greg Oden would be a roast beef sandwitch
If brandon roy was a sandwitch he would be a turkey bacon avacado.
