Not good news for DeJuan Blair. Looks like he had ACL issues in high school, and while they never affected him in college, NBA teams are scared.

He'd be perfect as LMA's backup.

draft dejuan blair.

starting to look kind of like a good pick

seems like he won’t be around for No. 24 though. His big knock was he isn’t big enough or athletic enough and he appears to be big and athletic enough.

I'm having a deja vu

Where have I heard about his knees before? Bwahahahaha.

Good

Maybe he will fall to 24 because of this! If he’s just a backup we can risk it.

Exactly what I was thinking

Remember last year when the Spurs were speading the “Batum has heart problems” story?

hey, D-Blair can be a career backup to LMA

and play 10-15 mpg, extend the cartilage in those knees

(kind of like a “pitch count” in baseball)

works for me

by two4larue on Jun 4, 2009 4:23 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

He should play 20mpg

solidly. Even more after Joel is gone.

Only if that means

That Aldridge only has to average 30 minutes a game because Portland is consistently leading by 25 in the 4th quarter

I don’t want LMA “sliding” to center so Blair can play more PF (that reeks of the “Roy needs to play SF for Rudy to get more PT” argument)

Blair may be all that, but rookies get the scraps. If his knees hold up and he earns more PT down the road, then that’s fine. But I don’t trade (or choose to not resign) Pryz in the future just so some 6’6" guy needs more PT at PF

Having said all that, I’d love to have D-Blair. In short spurts. Bringing the beast

I'll have to remember that one

I would love to have DeJuan Blair

He is very smart in terms of positioning his body(For post position, usually against taller opponenets), excellent rebounder & using his length to his advantage.

That was a misunderstanding.

The MRIs were actually for someone else, a young woman who works for the team. The doctor told KP that he was looking at the wrong MRIs (“those are Christine”), but he heard it wrong.

Haha! Is Christine a man-child too?

MRI's don't really tell you much.

After my MRI the doctor said I had a torn ACL and a possible miniscus tear.

I woke up having had an ACL replacement, a severe miniscus tear that had to be sutured into place and having had microfracture survey. MRI’s don’t tell much. You need to get a scope in there if you want to know whats really up.

It’s like the Godwin’s law of blazersedge. The longer a thread about someone’s knees continues, the more likely we come back to Oden, regardless of the appropriateness of the comparison.

He looks like a beast.

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

by OCBlazerFan1 on Jun 5, 2009 12:07 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Hmmmmmmmm

Chad Ford started this rumor, so maybe we should imbelish it a little bit. Blair has bad knees he has a heart murmur, and that pesky wrist injury he had when he was 6 years old.

I try to help with everything," Fernandez said. "If the coach says go rebound, I go rebound. I work for the team.

""If I'm playing this game to get media and attention, I shouldn't be here," Aldridge said. "I'm here to play basketball, and do what I can do to help this team win."

His stare became blank. It was apparent he was back in that place, on the Rose Garden's logo, picking up Aaron Brooks as the crowd nervously roared.
