Blazers make play for Turkoglu

While negotiations across the league were in the early stages, a person with knowledge of the discussions said the Blazers are trying to lure Turkoglu with a deal in the $50-million range. Contracts cannot be signed until July 7, when the annual moratorium on signing and trading players is lifted.

yah

if we started at 8 million per, and added annual raises for 5 years, we could get to the 50 million mark. but wow, really, is he worth it? and IF we do do that, we better make only the first 3 years guaranteed, with the final two being non-guaranteed or team options

TURKOGLU!

This is fantastic! Turkoglu gives the blazers many things they are lacking:
1. A second perimeter scorer/creator to complement and take pressure off Roy
2. Experience: Playoff, Finals, and Championship experience
3. Toughness: physical and mental (you know this guys clutch)

Along with the Above, the blazers will also add size, matchup problems and a very valuble trade chip know as Travis Outlaw
