Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

"To be honest, I think Victor Claver is the best pro right now out of Rubio and Sergio. I know people may think I’m crazy for that comment, but hey, it’s my opinion. Victor Claver is like 6’9; he can score and is very athletic." - Pooh Jeter

They don't play the same position

But I hope so. Still hard to compare a PF and a PG.

He’s a SF actually. Your point still stands though.

If 6'9" SF >> 6'4" PG

Shouldn’t we be trying to sign Sun Ming Ming?

What is this, stats for people who aren’t familiar with the game of basketball?

Last year Nic was my favorite Euro in the draft

This year it was Victor, fear not,I am never wrong and this kid is going to be really good.

Of course he is better.

He is a Blazer. That is my opinion.

I don't want to be an Eeyore

but I rarely trust the judgments of someone named “Pooh” unless the topic is the uses and abuses of honey. I may, of course, be wrong. I usually am.

Well

The guy is pretty well written and played against both players last year. I am not saying that Claver is better, but it is encouraging to see that he is thought highly of.

by da34shadow on Jun 30, 2009 3:57 PM PDT up reply actions

No

Just an excuse to do a bad Eeyore impersonation while expressing my resistance to get overly excited about Claver. All joking aside, I am sure Jeter knows exactly what he talking about. Now we will see if/when it translates into NBA success for Claver.

The only thing that matters

Is if Claver will be better than DeJuan Blair. I shall reserve judgement until after our first game vs. the Spurs next season.

summer league is coming up, fast

and I think the Portland squad has a game against the Spurs

We can only hope that game will be televised!

I'm bummed we didn't go for Llull

I’ve watched him and thought he was perfect for our team. He honestly reminded me of Devin Harris who is 6’ 3" and 185, Llull is 6’ 3" and 176. Harris is 4 year older than Llull, and I bet Llull would put on that 10 pounds pretty easy as he got tougher in the NBA. Their games are similar. I think we might be sad we didn’t go for him someday, especailly since he ended up in Denver.

I wouldn't be surprised 1 bit

KP knows his s**t, he was on the money with Fernandez and Batum. And I hear Freeland and Koponen are developing pretty nicely. I believe Claver will come over and shock the NBA world, And i believe Pritchard will get no credit just like with Batum. The guys so good at making personnel decisions that I’m gonna have him choose my daughters husband!!

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
