Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Grade: B-

Bottom line: "The Blazers had a solid draft, but Pritchard's rep has made "solid" seem disappointing."

One of the weakest drafts of all time and KP gets Patrick Mills at 55. I think the Blazers

got an A under the circumstances. They did the absolute best with the cards they were dealt. You could give them a D if we based it off of talent acquired. Even though I’m really excited about seeing Patrick Mills.

I like Mills

but I doubt he plays for us this year

How much did we get for Sergio?

Arguably, nothing. I think we were trying to get into the tier 1 player range, but settled solidly for the Euro when our guys, whoever they were, weren’t left on the board.

No a bad try, but had Sergio’s stock fallen that much?

I think

We specifically traded him to Sacramento for basically free to put Sergio in a good situation. Helps our rep league wide with players, helps us convince Euros to come over, and its a nice human thing to do.

I think we coulda’ got “more” for Sergio. He is at least a capable backup PG, which a lot of teams don’t have.

But this way, we get who we supposedly wanted, and Sergio gets to go to maybe the only team he could have a chance to start. It’s a nice move to make.

Poor Hawks

It’s been four years and they’re still getting killed about Chris Paul.

Hollinger thought KP should have gone for DeJuan Blair and DaJuan Summers.

Summers would’ve had to change his first name to ‘DaNother’.

Meh

I’m more interested in how well the Blazers do over the entire off-season, not just the draft.

Somethings gotta happen

Methinks it’ll be Hinrich/McDyess. If that happens the Blazers should move up to an A.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
