Mills reaction from Down Under
Lots of quotes, and gives a fairly nuanced assessment of his game.

I feel like he's got a lot of potential
But yes, I think Nate Macmillan’s is probably the worst system for him to end up in
Dictated, not read. The management.
who is this Macmillan guy?
If the kid can play, Nate will play him. If he sucks like most of our recent PG’s, Nate will sit him.

Summer league strategy
The same scout suggested that in halfcourt situations Mills has shooting guard skills, but a point guard’s body at not quite 6 feet tall.
“That’s something he’s got to overcome,” the scout said.
“Because of his size and how he played with the Aussies, he’s always regarded as a point guard. I didn’t see him breaking down and creating. He’s most effective when the ball is not in his hands and he’s coming off picks.”
MIlls can play SG in Vegas with Bayless running the point. Who cares if the other team takes advantage of their size in the backcourt? It’s not about winning games, it’s about getting Jerryd some PG reps. Hopefully Pend and DC will be able to join in.

As an Australian...
Mills getting drafted by the Blazers is a terrible thing for Australian basketball. From the videos on the main page it seems that KP and Nate are set in their thinking that Mills will be sent over to Europe, when he has the ability to play in the league already. As a Blazer fan I understand why but it is still disappointing. I hope he gets traded to a better situation but if he doesn’t I know he’ll work hard on his game and earn a spot in the near future.
Sorry, but he fell to 55
That means PM can’t have a whole lot of trade value, just about every other GM in the league had an opportunity to get him for “free” the other night and passed
He’s in a tough situation, because I don’t think Nate would ever give him PT. Based on scouting reports, MIlls is a “tiny” SG in a PG’s body. He needs to develop his PG skills to reach the NBA. Perhaps the Blazers could stick him in the D-league? He’d make better money overseas, and like KP said on draft night “he has a passport”
Can a drafted player go back to school and play?
Draft a guy and have him get more experience in college?
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
The way I understand it
If a player hired an agent (and most do if they stay in the draft) they “turned pro” and may no longer play on a college team.
Thats too bad.
I guess I can see why they would do that though. A hyped guy could get drafted, stay in college, and turn out to be a bust, agent makes nothing on him. Not that I care about agents.

I doubt it's from Down Under, since he posts pictures from Central Park
I guess he was at the draft in NY, or at least in the city.
Well, in the sense that it's pulled from "AdelaideNow"...
I looked at the article from his hometown (Canberra), but their newspaper was pretty lacking.
