-Portland dangling Greg Oden to try and get into the top 5? A number have teams say they are hearing that, although it could all be coming from the same source. A Trailblazers executive we spoke with emphatically denied that they would even consider trading Oden.

Seriously...
where do they come up with this junk?
I'm of the opinion that anybody can be traded,
but this is just preposterous.
"There goes Brandon Roy... the best there ever was in this game"
Not a player worthy of trading Oden for. I'm not against dealing him
but definately not for an unproven player
This is absolutely ludicrous
Yeah we’re gonna trade away the guy who would be an easy #1 in this draft for the number 5.
Yeah, that’s stupid too. I’m not sold on Griffin ever being a star. I guess people aren’t for Oden either… but give me the bigger non-star.

Based on what? Given what Oden hasn't done for two seasons, I don't think NBA
GMs would think it’s a no brainer to take him over Griffin
Two seasons?
I think you might be confused. I think he’s only played for one season.

One season? Really?!?!?
Hey Nick, where did he rank among rookies in PER?

Why Zaig!
I think he was about tied at the top with Kevin Love.

O rly?
Why would we trade a rookie that good for a 5 pick in a weak draft?

What are you doing?
I’m saying he’s only PLAYED one year. As in, he had a very good ROOKIE year and it would be silly to trade him. If he was still struggling to stay on the court in his SECOND year, then maybe it would be a different story.
But he’s still just a Rookie, so cut him some slack. Duh.

I'm agreeing with you
See how we have a conversation about how silly the trade is!

lol...
I got that one if that was the joke. :)
honestly I just think it’s your humor that some don’t get :) I think I do, but only when I’m laughin at myself for being made a fool by you….
I think it happened once …???

You're ignoring the fact he missed an entire year with
a major knee surgery. You don’t think GMs would take that into account?
lol...
I"m sorry but this is weird for me becuase I liked what I seen when he was there…. and in the game.
maybe that don’t change the fact that yes he did sit out one whole year and was gimped for his one whole year that he did play, but , when he was in there… and he was “in the game” he was amazing.
and if he honest to god wasn’t doing any lower leg work , (squats)
watch out. He’s not close to topping out yet.

Portland could have done that
Not seriously but with Pritchard does like to get conversations started and then take the conversation in a different direction

kinda like calling chicago and saying...well... we're thinking of moving oden...
then chicago says, “REALLLLLLY”…
then KP, “yeah, we were thinkin rose, noah, that guy that starts at center for you, maybe your starting shooting guard……” " chicago says, “whoooow hold on now, that’s insane!!”, KP, “yeah your right, maybe we should just try to get you Joel and Joel for Rose”, … and then the insanity goes from there?

Ridiculous.
Understand.
It’s easy to think Portland wants to give up on the big fella.
His heart has been questioned. So has his head.
But there’s talent there. So much of it.
And when you look in his eyes, you see a hunger. A deep, abiding hunger to get better.
It’s not time to trade him. Not even for Kirk Hinrich.

I dont question his head or his heart. I question if he's ever get his explosion and athleticism back
to the point where he plays like he did in HS and college
An urgent question
I am trying to but an all access month pass on espn360.com to watch the draft but how do you buy it it sounds like a daft question but I enter my name, e-mail address and phone number and then it says ‘please make a purchase to add card’ but I then click on the all access pass again and it goes to a man talking about soccer, can anybody help lease I will be so grateful!

lies
Unless another player is included. I could see something like Al Jefferson + the 5th pick.

Still don’t think we get anything at 5 worth it.

Greg wont be traded
But I wouldnt be surprised if they dangled him just to see what might be brought in for him. Heck, at times like these, I bet every player on every team (even BROY, LMA, and ODEN)is dangled just to see what they might get or what kind of value those players have. Just because someone is dangled dont mean they are going anywhere. A zillion trades scenarios are squashed b4 they ever are accepted. BROY, LMA, and ODEN are going to be with us for quite awhile. Everyone else is a big ????.

I know the new BE rules prevent us from suggesting that other posters might be on drugs
Or that they don’t watch basketball. But can we say it about trade rumors and the people who make them up?
2 hot 2 stop it
Yes.
Please put out an APB for the trade rumor maker upper people. They are thought to be in possession of some serious chronic.
they accused me of smoking crack .... :( I don't smoke crack.

Trading Oden we might move from 22 to 20 and get Caspa or Hansburger.

teehee...dangling.
"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.
"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.
No, seriously
we’re trading Oden to get Curry at #5. He’s going to lob to Przybilla 10 times a game and turn Joel into a scoring machine. It’s all been scouted out.
I don't think there are any 3 players in this draft that I'd want over Oden. If the draft could include Oden right now
he’d go number 1. So no we would never trade him.
