Going into the off season, the Blazers knew they needed a back up PF, toughness down low, a good defensive PG, and probably an heir apparent at point guard. With this trade I think we get all we need:
-#55 pick from Blazers
Why: For the Warriors, they get two guys who could really fit in with their run and gun style. They dump off Turiaf which isn't a terrible loss for them. For the Bulls, it's simple. They get to dump off the big contract of Hinrich while getting a quality back up for Rose. For the Blazers, I think it is most intriguing and beneficial. They get the toughness they need down low who is also a local, good guy. Hinrich is probably the best point guard the Blazers can add without giving up the house.
Once the Blazers complete this, I think the Blazers should pick Eric Maynor. He fits in to everything we need. We don't need a Hall of Fame point to win the championship. Maynor does everything well but nothing great. I like the fact that he is steady all around. He plays good defense, can shoot outside, and knows how to run the team. Maynor could learn under Hinrich while playing 10-15 minutes a game. Thoughts?
