Pops Mensah-Bonsu?

Since it looks like we won't be getting Joel Freelandany time soon, how about his GB teammate Pops Mensa-Bonsu? I understand that he's a free agent again. I've never understood why he can't stick somewhere. It's a good sign that the Spurs were willing to try him out, but a bad sign that they (and now, apparently, Toronto, despite the fact that they supposedly loved him there) let him go. But he's a rebounding and shot-blocking machine wherever he goes.

Yeah if we have an extra spot at the end of our rotation he looks good

I would look for a proven veteran or a quality PF in the draft before picking him up but he looks interesting.

I wouldnt be bummed if we signed him

I would rather have Bass, but Pops is a cheap filler and would provide some brutal practice sessions.

I like how you're thinking outside of the box on this one!!

Instead of wanting the big name guy who wants mucho millions, you are looking at cheaper, and more realistic options

Would be awesome

Could definately play a 10-15 minute role as backup pf. Only issues I have heard are that he is very raw offensively which could be a problem with him playing with Joel at least half of his minutes. He’s pretty underrated from everything I hear and I wouldn’t think San Antonio would take a run at him is there were any character issue.

He would be an upgrade over Freeland for my ‘British Bulldog’ role – every team should have one!

would signing him be cheaper

than just signing a second rounder this year? and is he really a “veteran?” I thought you actually have to play meaningful minutes to get veteran status. I mean, I guess Adam Morrison is not only a veteran but also has championship “experience” if you just look at when the guy was drafted

The Blazers as a whole are far more like my wife than like me in the sense of their physicality on defense.
