Pargo under the radar
Isn’t this the 2nd time they have brought in Pargo? I like the possibility of them snagging Jpargo in the 2nd round and honestly think he will be a better true NBA pg than bayless.
i think he is just local workout filler.

His poor regular showings
against the better teams Gonzaga played make me think he will not stick in the NBA.
He has the physical tools but……..

Smoke Screens
Smoke Screen #1: Stephen Curry
Smoke Screen #2: Tyler Hansbrough
Smoke Screen #3: Jeremy Pargo
Target: Trade Outlaw, Frye, and Sergio and rights to the #33 pick to NJ for rights to the #11 pick and Trenton Hassell. Draft Brandon Jennings with the #11 pick.
Is that first guy making a career change?
I thought Star Trek was doing well?

Spoiled Fans
We have gotten so spoiled with having great drafts and stealling some great NAMED talent- but don’t be fooled Jpargo is going to be a GOOD NBA PG- Deffinitely better than PAYLESS
you got that right
it isn’t a building season and that is why we won’t use our draft picks for ourselves- but we will pick up jpargo undrafted and he will be on the summer team
this is possible. pargo seems like a nice candidate for summer league and seems to enjoy a friendly relationship with the team.

Bamba Fall
without a doubt is the best name of a prospective draftee in many years.
Whoever we draft, we should insist that he change his name to Bamba Fall.
If I have a son, I might name him Bamba Fall.
My question: will Bamba Fall rise in the mock drafts?
Yes, I have to admit that Longar Longar is right up there.
If he became a Blazer, I assume his favorite Chinese restaurant would be Hung Far Low.
His backcourt runningmate Fastar Fastar is pegged as a sure-fire second rounder...

My thought was: no way in hell I'm gonna waste 2 hours showcasing that lot...

In order to evaluate Bayless somebody has to be able to score...
Mr. Bayless has been requested to show off his PG skills, but in order to do so somebody on the SL Team needs to be able to score after getting a dish.
Here’s hoping the team this year has somebody that can:
1) Catch a pass without fumbling, tripping over one’s foot, or be out of bounds
2) Proceed to then put the ball in a shooting position while facing the basket
3) Be able to finally hoist skywards this nicely placed gift in the general direction of the rim
yup
We joke about this, but if Jerryd’s SL team mates can’t score and the squad falls behind, how may people here think Rex won’t just put his head down and go hard, to try to get them back into the game all by himself?
It’s easy for the coach to tell him “just stick to the gameplan” before those competitive juices start flowing…
True Larue....
But he would get complaints if he let the team lose too. I like that he wants to win. Let’s give the kid a chance, and see what happens.
What is the point??
Why waste your time with a ton of guys who “arent going to be drafted”? Am I missing something here?
Greg Oden = Robert Parish - The only other rookie with more than 500 points, 400 rebounds, and 65 blocks in under 1400 minutes played. Since 1946

Smoke screen. Summer league. Training camp. Undrafted reserves. Agents not willing to let great guys work out in Portland.
all valid points i suppose

Trade Rules
Can the Blazers put their $3M trade exception together with their $7M cap space and offer a free agent $10M? What are the rules on using trade exceptions?
by Original Blazer Fan on Jun 18, 2009 2:17 PM PDT reply actions
As I understand it
the trade exception cannot be paired with anything to go after a bigger free agent.

As I understand it, the trade exception is essentially worthless if you're under the cap, as the Blazers are.

Not until next year (next month), and only if they want to be.
It’s not that useful, but it gives them another way to do things. Some deals could be easier done this year.
Ben, you've done it again
Thanks again for the props. I think now I need to put up a new banner on the site that reads “Sandberg On Sports – as read by Ben from Blazer’s Edge!”

AJ Abrams
he has the wettest jumper i have ever seen in my life. Get him in the 2nd round not Pargo because Pargo is so broke, if we wanted another jerryd bayless cloning him would be a better option than pargo. Aj Abrams atleast is a threat to score when he is on the court

What a boring group to bring in
Would we actually waste a roster spot for one of these guys. Sure Abrams can shoot and pargo is fast but really none is worth a roster spot
Curtis
I heard his jimmy is wet and that he puts guys on locks and that he bams on folks. Get some curtis action and we will be some title contenders
