The Timberwolves are currently on a GM hunt (see various articles on Canis Hoopus for details). Apparently assistant GM Lindsey of San Antonio said no, and Portland's David Kahn (previously with Indiana and various D-League franchises) would be a better team president candidate and was not absolutely convincing either. Even our favorite columnist Bill Simmons has thrown his hat into the ring again (like last year with the Bucks) and offered to do the job quasi for free as "GM of common sense" if he can later write about it. Now Blazers assistant GM Tom Penn seems to have become a candidate, which would suck shortly before the draft and offseason, but as Pritchard has said repeatedly he wants his guys to succeed also elsewhere so he would probably endorse it.
Update: Wendell Maxey confirms. Oregonian on the story too.
