Hey, I am a relatively inexperienced member, so I hope I'm posting this in the right place.
I happened to be watching the Heat/Hawks Game 7 today when I began to notice the vocal histrionics of the Atlanta arena announcer. In the third quarter, Joe Johnson scored on a jumper and the announcer yelled, "JOOOOOOOOE" for what must have been eight or nine seconds. Later on, when Flip Murray hit a three, the announcer screamed the word "THREE" in a high-pitched voice reminiscent of a pre-pubescent teen. Add in the fact that he yelled "Defense" on practically EVERY Miami possession, and I found myself growing increasingly aggrivated with his presentation style.
Here in Portland, we are lucky to have one of the best PA announcers in the league. Mark Mason has a great feel for the game, and his native-language introductions of foreign players are really exceptional. But for some reason, a lot of the announcers seem overbearing or just downright irritating. Just curious to see which PA announcers BEdgers like/dislike (or if I am the only person who notices these things).
