Ladys and Gentleman of Bedge now that it is the offseason it's time to get excited about another player coming out of the Spanish ACB league. And no I am not talking about Ricky Rubio. Here is a highlight video I found of our future back up PF, I thought I had to share.

Seriously I see no need to draft a PF
Well other than depth

I'm glad you weren't talking about Rubio.
He’s a joke.

Everyone is jocking his nuts big time
but have you looked at his stats?

The dude is a very inefficient scorer, can’t shoot from long range, isn’t particularly amazing at distributing the ball, and is a turnover machine. He sounds like the second coming of sergio if you ask me.

He has better stats than Rudy or Sergio did at his age
Obviously he has some significant weaknesses, but Rubio does a tremendous job at getting assists. At 18 years old, he is currently averaging 10.7 assists per pace-adjusted 40 minutes in the ACB league, making him the only player in draftexpress’s database (dating back to 2001-2002) to average 10+ assists per pace-adjusted 40 minutes in the ACB league.

10.7 assists
is not worth it when you have 5.5 turnovers in the same timeframe. You have to look at the Assist-to-Turnover ratio for a more accurate picture. His BEST career A/T ratio is 2.00.
By comparison, Sergio’s A/T ratio this year, a year in which it is widely accepted that he woefully underperformed, was 2.4, while Blake’s was 3.2 with a vastly better 3-point shot.

Rubio is shooting 44% from long range this season (Last seson 30%).
But you´re right, this year he´s been a turnover machine.

Still doesn't look tough enough for me.
He’s going to have to go up against some bangers in the NBA. That video didn’t prove to me he’s qualified to come in as OUR back up.

It wouldn't be wise to have him as our primary PF backup
But he should come over this year because his contract runs out and if we leave him over in Europe he will get a pretty big offer and it will be about 3 years before we would get another shot at bringing him over. He’ll probably come over and ride pine for a year.

He won't come this year
He isn’t ready, I’d rather make him come in 2 years when he’ll be able to contribute than having him wasting a couple seasons in the bench.

Not ready to do what? I think he is ready to take the role of Raef (healthy), Ruffin, Shav. Frye's spot probably goes to a veteran.
He could be the third backup on 4 and 5. He is obviously not ready to replace LaMarcus or Joel full-time in case of injury. I probably have not watched him in as many games as you, but the ones I saw he looked good for a spot role <15 minutes per game. If we don’t bring him over now, he gets locked in by a European team and we won’t see him in Portland before he is as old as Scola or Sabonis. Then he is still valuable, but it will be even harder to convince him to come to the NBA.

I agree
Now’s the time to bring him over, if we don’t do it this summer, we probably won’t be able to bring him over at all. I think his potential is enough to warrant a 12th-15th spot on our roster right now. Especially since, if he pans out, he’d be the perfect PF for our back up. A high energy low post threat.

He kind of reminds me of Chris Anderson
minus the antics, and drama.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Better scorer, not as good of a shot blocker (but still a good shot blocker)
