Steve Blake's Shoulder Surgery Went Well
Attention Gar Forman!!!!!!!
From the Blazers...
STEVE BLAKE UNDERGOES SUCCESSFUL ARTHROSCOPIC SHOULDER SURGERY
PORTLAND, Ore. - Trail Blazers guard Steve Blake underwent successful arthroscopic shoulder surgery, the Portland Trail Blazers announced today. His recovery time is expected to be 6-8 weeks.
Blake separated his right shoulder trying to fight through a screen in the second quarter of Portland's game at Philadelphia on January 14, sidelining the guard for five games. He returned to action on January 26 at the Los Angeles Clippers and re-aggravated the injury in the second quarter, forcing him to miss an additional eight games.
Dr. Neal S. ElAttrache performed the surgery at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
All jokes aside, here's to a quick and painless rehab.

Get better Steve
The Blazers need him next year.
I know less than half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
yeah
I’m still not sold on Hinrich. Due to the handchecking rules being what they are, there really aren’t any good defensive point guards anymore. The best way to go after a point like Tony Parker or Devin Harris is to attack him on offense, maybe draw a couple of quick fouls. Two fouls in the first quater is worth almost all the defense in the world.

yeah, but I don't put Rondo into the category of the Parkers or the Harrises or the Pauls of the world...
It was good D on Rondo, but I don’t think it’s game-changing D.
I mean, come on… the Bulls still lost.

I mean, come on… the Bulls still lost.
They were the inferior team and were supposed to lose.
Also, Rondo is one of the very quickest guards and very hard to defend. He still had great numbers in the series, but that’s because Hinrich was switching between defending Pierce, Allen, and Rondo.
proud hinrichsheeple
I thought the Bulls and Celts were on a more even level after KG went down
But that’s just opinion.
What it comes down to for me is, I still don’t think Hinrich is enough of an upgrade over Blake to justify a trade.

I like the idea of adding Hinrich
and keeping Blake.
Not enough minutes to go around, especially for Bayless? Sure, but this is the NBA “where injuries happen” and both Steve and Kirk missed parts of last season
If Blake+sweetener was traded for Hinrich and Cap’n Kirk gets hurt, the Blazers are left with Bayless running the point and scrambling to find another backup PG
Have you ever seen a press release when an athlete got surgery that read "sorry, we screwed up"? :)
I bet if we search for Darius’ arthroscopic surgery press release, Martell’s, or any surgery on Hill, Arenas, maybe even Bowie and Walton in the olden days they were all deemed successful.
Still, speedy recovery Steve.

Well, Blake didn't die on the operating table
And considering his surgeon was Dr. Nick, that’s saying a lot.

Me too.
A foot injury (especially one that’s stress related) can be a death knell for an NBA career.

I think they admitted they screwed up after one of Hills ankle surgery’s when he was in Orlando… something about having to go back in a week or two later comes to mind… but I’m too lazy to use the Google to find it

wasn't that a quote from a baseball manager back in the 80s?
I’m pretty sure that it was…

has anyone ever announced unsuccessful surgery?
even when the patient dies, they say the operation itself was a success.
Cheers to Stevie
I hope he recovers easily. I still wince at when he re-separated it.
Wondering what moves Pritchard would make to land me a date in the off-season. Preferably one with tickets.
This guy is a STUD
If I did that to my shoulder I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t even be playing a pick up game, let alone playing competively.
