Trade Drawer

In the recent post UFA Buyers and sellers Great Dane had mentioned someone as a possible back up Power Forward - Reggie Evans - I liked it so much that I decided to make that the Trade Drawer for tonight.

A simple trade that could accomplish quite a bit....

To Phili - Travis Outlaw and the 38th pick in the 2009 NBA draft

To Portland - Reggie Evans and the 17th Pick in the 2009 Draft

What I feel this trade will do for us is clear up the challenge of finding playing time for Trout, Martell, and Battum. It gives us a back up veteran PF who is familiar with our coach, has playoff exp., does a lot of the little things (scrappy) and doesn't mind throwing a hard foul every now and then. It also gives us the abbility to move up in the draft to draft a decent PG who may not have been their at 24 (just in case Bayless doesn't work out)

What I feel this trade does for philly is saves them money, Travis is a definite upgrade to their roster and his contract is less, plus it expires one year earlier. They receive an early second round pick vs. a guaranteed 1st rounder saving them even more money which they will need after resigning Miller.

So what do you think? Do you have any better ideas? Was Smurfett a Natural Blond?
