More evidence for "Sessions Gone"
Quotes from GM seem pretty clear.... Bucks will not match any significant offer.

I love this guy's game
I don’t know if he would make the Blazers better, but he would certainly make them more entertaining.

I remember a long time ago when I posted under a different handle...
…someone brought up Sessions becasue of a late-season meaningless game in which he had 13+ assists. I said no way back then, one game doesn’t make a player. But now I’m coming around. If only becasue he is not an obvious solution and I tend to believe tha PG’s (more tha nany other position) tend to come out of nowhere. Milwaukee is almost nowhere.

He had 9 double doubles last season, and games where he had 20+ and one even 40+ points
Is he the ideal solution? I don’t know, in fact it’s likely less of a risk to roll with Hinrich, so I would really try to keep Blake around when bringing in Sessions. But he is less risky than drafting someone again to be the future starter, and he has a ton of potential to be one of the top point guards in the league. If he doesn’t work out, he will be a great backup.

Absolutely.
If we bring in someone along he lines of Conley or Sessions keeping Blake as a back-up is a must. If we go the veteran route (Bibby, Miller, Nash) then I think you let Bayless develop as your second option and hope he grows into a suitable replacement in a few seasons. Although, my reasoning may be on the execution may not. It seems other teams are hotter on Bayless and we would have to make him part of the deal for a proven vet. While Milwaukee and Memphis may overvalue a smart, savvy, cheap player a la Blake. Is it October yet?

He might be a very tradeable
asset though. Perhaps a three way, you know KP he LOVES 3-ways.

Turns the ball over like crazy is wrong. He has a 14% turnover percentage, on par with Blake despite being much more aggressive, and 10% better than Sergio
He shoots inside on a level with Devin Harris (54%), his overall FG% is better than Blake’s. His problem is outside shooting. He does play D, has a better defensive rating than any point guard on our roster. Only he gets yanked around by Skiles a lot and has some trouble with rapidly changing lineups thrown at him. I would keep Blake when bringing him on for security, but he would be an upgrade.

any ideas on why
he shot 43% from the arc the first year, and dropped to 17.6 the next?

I'm guessing it's an issue of sample size.
He shoots less than one 3-pt attempt per 36 minutes (0.6 3-pt attempts for each of his first two seasons). To put that into context, Blake specializes in 3-pt attempts and takes 5.4 per 36 minutes. Frye and Bayless don’t really specialize in 3-pt attempts and still had 1.6 and 1.5 attempts per 36 minutes, respectively. He really almost never takes any 3’s.
The 3 out of 7 makes for Sessions in his rookie season likely doesn’t mean much of anything because of the sample size.

Look as actual numbers rather than percentages for this one:
first year: 3-7
second year: 6-34
Not exactly a lot to work with.

Couldn't have cleared that up any better- nice work
And no, that’s not much to work with. The guy just doesn’t shoot 3s. You have to figure at least a few of those were heaves at the end of quarters, as well.
I don’t think not shooting the 3 is bad thing for a PG either. I prefer the Orlando/ Spain way of driving and kicking, driving and kicking, until the defense is so messed up someone you WANT to shoot a 3 is wiiiide open.

yup. got it. thanks.
if i wasnt so lazy, i would have been able to answer my own question. this dude just doesnt put up three point shots. for a reason too…

Like I said, I've got a gut feeling this is the guy that KP has targeted
While I’d prefer a better defender and 3pt shooter, adding Sessions is an upgrade to the PG position, especially in the drive and dish category
Whether Nate starts Ramon ahead of Blake remains to be seen
And you know Bayless will be hating life if he’s stuck as the 5th guard, again
but depth is good, because in the NBA injuries are inevitable
