Hoopsworld with a somewhat unusual plan to fix the Blazers
I don't give that much on their rumors (there were deals reportedly done that really weren't). But while this article is pure speculation it's an interesting recap of the season and unusual point of view how to go forward:
* Veteran help needed, but not necessarily in the form of a new brand-name PG starter. Instead bring in a veteran third player (type Lindsey Hunter, Anthony Johnson) and move Bayless to the backup spot.
* Veteran PF that provides "post scoring in the second unit" to play alongside Joel (no names mentioned)
* "Draft another center or two and perhaps a bigger shooting guard in the second round." (again no names mentioned)
* Interest in a player like Israeli SF/PF Omri Casspi (wrongly spelled Omar) in the draft, and maybe let him in Europe for another year
* Maybe bring over Joel Freeland and Petteri Koponen or use as trade bait
* Most likely to be traded: Sergio, Travis
* Extend Brandon and LaMarcus
This might not yield the impact we would hope for but could fit a "cautious KP" strategy only tweaking the roster.

Well
I’m not sure what it is about a 54-win team that needs to be “fixed” but I can’t find anything up there to argue about.
I know less than half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
Despite the headline..
…the people at Hoopsworld don’t seem to think we really need to be fixed (d-uh). Shore up oint guard and sign a veterean power forward who can rebound and score? Where have I heard that before…?
"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."
Antonio McDyess would be a nice fit.
Fearthesword.com: "There is no doubt that the long layoff, combined with the ease of the first two rounds had the Cavaliers a bit tired in the 4th quarter."

I don't really understand the point guard suggestion.
That doesn’t really fix the problem-our lack of a REAL starter. It just brings in an old PG. The veteran aspect of a Lindsey Hunter would be nice but it doesn’t exactly make us better.
"What is the Soup Du Jour?"
"It's the Soup of the Day."
"Mmmm. That sounds good. I'll have that."
What's the status with Oden's knee?
Does he need surgery to remove the bone chip? If he does nothing does it move around and become a problem again next year? Anyone know or heard anything about it?

A bone chip will dissolve on it's own within the body
It shouldn’t require surgery, but that depends on the size of the chip.

Lindsey Hunter is on my top-twenty list of guys who should probably retire, with everyone ranked by age.
1. Lindsey Hunter
2. Kevin Ollie
3. Juwan Howard
4. Bobby Jackson
5. Theo Ratliff
6. Donyell Marshall
7. Chucky Atkins
8. Jerry Stackhouse
9. Malik Rose
10. Jacque Vaughn
11. Adonal Foyle
12. Austin Croshere
13. Lorenzen Wright
14. Brevin Knight
15. Calvin Booth
16. Greg Buckner
17. Michael Ruffin
18. Jake Voskuhl
19. Jason Collins
20. Jarron Collins
I didn’t include guys who’ve already announced their retirement (e.g., Dikembe Mutombo, Sam Cassell, and Eric Snow) nor guys who are under contract for one more season (e.g., Jerome James, Etan Thomas, Mark Blount, Kenny Thomas, and Craig Claxton) despite being practically useless from an on-court standpoint.
i agree with most of that list
by the way,
how many more lists do you have
you have all nba teams, all aba teams, top players at each position, players that need to retire all right at hand. Do you have anything else?

i dont think "fix" is the best term to use
you dont “fix” 54 win teams.

"Fix" can be the proper term, if it means that we are supposed to be a 54+ win team.
Hell, it means that we are playing below our average. Don’t feel the need to give “fix” a negative connotation. As much as I am happy with our 54 win season, it is ideal to aim for more.
