Ricky Rubio's agent doesn't rule out Grizzlies
"Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said Friday there was cordial talk -- and no threats -- when he met with the agent for Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio. "We had a productive and wide-ranging discussion. It was a good meeting," Wallace said from Los Angeles before he boarded a plane for Spain to watch the 18-year-old Rubio, who according to an Internet report might not want to play in Memphis."

For those who want Conley, this is very encouraging. It seems that those in Memphis believe the Grizzlies do think that Rubio is the second-best prospect, and not Thabeet.
Where would they put Thabeet? Sharing center with Gasol? Gasol would not be able to defend the power forward position.

They would be HUGE if they draft thabeet .
They will probably probably slide gasol down to power forward , ala lakers. But man They would be a beast if they cared.

And then Gasol chases Nowitzki, Bosh, Okur, Jamison, LMA ... around the perimeter. I would love to see that.
I've read that Memphis has gone on record saying they LIKE Gasol at the four.
And that he was more productive there (offensively). It seems to be a popular belief that if you have a dominant defense-oriented post you can “get away” with an offense-only player at the other post. In my opinion, you can never have enough defense.

that opinion is exactly what makes
The Grizzlies the Grizzlies

Marc Gasol would get slaughtered if he played the high-post on both offense and defense, as ...
he had a subpar 40.3% eFG% on jump shots last season — which made up 42% of his field-goal attempts — and the 140 minutes in which he played with Darko Milicic, Rudy Gay, O.J. Mayo, and Mike Conley, Jr. or Kyle Lowry led to a raw +/- total of -26.

While the Memphis Grizzlies improved somewhat on defense with Gasol at the pivot and Milicic at power forward — although that was mostly due to Milicic on that end of the court — the offense fell totally apart without the ability to spread the floor.
If the Grizzlies believe that a frontline duo of Hasheem Thabeet and Gasol is the recipe for victory, then its front office and coaching staff are fooling themselves.
If Conley's on the market
I would love to see the Kings get in on that.

apparently Memphis has an affinity for Travis Outlaw, who fits their power forward mold. Hands off Conley, Sacramento. He’s ours.

yep
Travis would be a crowd pleaser for Memphis since he is from Mississippi. And have you seen the Memphis crowds (or lack of)? No brainer here.
Brandon Roy, 'nuff said.
haha
just think of that Memphis game when Travis’s entire family was there. They WERE the crowd. Ticket sales would double just because of his family attending.

"Mmmm. That sounds good. I'll have that."
Yeah, because everyone wants to play for Sacramento.
I mean the Rivercats.

Is that supposed to be insulting or something?
Or am I supposed to mention that the Triple A team playing for Portland is affiliated with the Padres or something? And that the Rivercats are affiliated with the Oakland A’s, who also happen to be my baseball team as well.

Not insulting...
…but I am making fun of them. Poor Kings fans. Most of my family is in that area. Great fans who seem to never be able to catch a break. I also work in sports event management and we have the Rivercats account. One of the busiest minor-league accounts we have.

I think Jordan Hill is a better fit in Memphis IMO Cablin

Yeah, he fits a need for them. I just don’t think he’s done anything to deserve being a top two pick.

Blair has much better numbers. Hill is a scary prospect… never quite put it all together in college.
