Updated: I'm on a mission, and am almost complete (with poll)
I've been watching the Blazers for many years. Season ticket holder I am (Yoda speak). Before this season started I thought it would be cool to set a goal / mission to watch EVERY Blazer game this year, in person or on TV. I've never done that before, even being a hard core fan.
There were times when it became difficult, especially weekend games on the East Coast for some reason when I had to wake up from my nice afternoon nap to watch the last three quarters. However, I accomplished the goal!! I watched all 82 games this year.
Before the playoffs I decided to expand the goal - "let's watch every playoff game, regardless of which teams are playing". And so far I have done so. I have all the channels on TV, so I was covered. And of course the Internet feeds... I can say with 100% accuracy that I have now watched every Blazer game and every NBA playoff game this year. The finish line is coming, and I won't miss a game. Of course my wife thinks I'm nuts, however.... I even bought a new LCD flat screen for my "man cave" in April to further my goal. It's personal now, and I won't fail.
I'm wondering if there are any other hard cores out there like me? Poll below.
Where Amazing and Pizza happens....
Update, 5-23:
I failed. Call it Karma, or whatever - I should have never posted this. Today, under a great sun and in good weather, I took my puppy to the doggy park. It was fabulous, we ran, we played, we grunted, we pottied, we had tons of fun. We then proceeded home, ate some snacks, and got ready for the LAL/DEN tip off. 45 minutes to go, I'm in my man cave, laying there in front of the big screen, snacking with my favorite beverage and friend (dog). Soon the mind says: "Dude, a 15-30 minute nap here would be perfect, the temperature is perfect, it's quiet, it's all perfect" and my puppy is already snoring at my side. I fall for it, damned temptation, my pastor warned me about it.
3.5 hours later I awoke to an infomercial on TV and a sleeping puppy butt in my face. No, no, no - this can't be real - No, I missed the game. I run out to the main room and yell at the wife and kids for not waking me up, and get blank looks from them (The "Oh, Dad is freaking out look"). I'm told to be quiet as they are watching that Mall Cop movie on DVD. "Don't you understand what just happened?" I state. Nobody cares. Mall Cop is on you know.
No no no. I just posted this on BEdge and this happens, this, in one day? I feel like the announcer who talks about how good a player is shooting free throws when he is at the line and then he misses.
Epic Fail. There is always next year.

It is easier
but it’s every night now almost, where the double headers usually gave me the next day off. Not complaining, I love it!

I think I can name the few games I missed this season
I was in Vegas when Philly beat Portland in Portland (lost a parlay bet on that)
I was watching Penn v. St. Pierre 2 while Utah was in town, though I caught updates on a smaller monitor and google text.
I missed Toronto in Portland (couldn’t get the game in Alaska)
I think that is it.

I missed half a Blazers game because of DVR trouble
I’ve only half payed attention to this round. I’ve had too much junk to do to watch the all the games. I plan to watch all the Finals games though.

I'll admit it...
I missed off of Hou@Por and had to watch “the shot” on replay.
I missed a few due to vaca in Jan/Feb, too.

Oh man, sorry to hear it
That’s probably my #1 memory of the whole season. I don’t know how I’d feel if I didn’t get to see it live.
My wife was down the hall… all she could year was… “YES!!” …minutes pass… “NO!!!” …minutes pass… “YEEEESSSSSS!!!”
[This was my first year with League Pass. I saw 78 of the 82 games, I missed 5 games while on vacation, then saw one of them on PVR. I also missed almost all of Game 6, like most people outside of the Portland area]

My son was in Washington DC
with a band on tour, and I was giving him play by play at the end over the phone. When I screamed out: “Brandon Effing Roy” (fill in the real word) he knew what had happened. It was a moment I’ll never forget, ever.

I was there at the game
I had taken my 9 year old with me (even though it was a school night) because my wife had class that night. The game started late because of the nat’l coverage…then it went to OT ….then the fantastic finish ……we will never forget it….and my wife is sorta pissed that she didn’t get to be there although she did hear it on the radio (since class had let out by then)

I voted 82
but actually it is many more than that. I watched at least part of 81 regular season games (I only missed one when I was at Astoria for some reason) and watched all the Blazer Playoffs (so there is another 6). Watched most of the Boston/Chicago series and other games here and there throughout the playoffs.

It's hard to quantify
as I know I didn’t watch every game, but I did watch most. I’ve flipped the channel from baseball to the playoffs a few times and on occasion gotten sucked in when it’s been close. This positive outcome to the experiment makes me more likely to repeat it, especially since the playoff games have been close and almost entirely an anxiety-free viewing experience — since I don’t much care who wins.
Add to this the fact that I really don’t much like Seattle baseball so far… whereas most years I can get into it even if the team is no good. This year I just don’t like these guys much.
So I may be more likely to watch even if ends up just Kobe vs Lebron. Whole games, though? Not that much. Unless either Denver or Orlando breaks into the Finals and we have a genuine underdog.

That was one of my favorites.
I was really mad because my brother got to go and he is hardly a fan. I was stuck watching from home while someone who didn’t even really care got to see it in person.

I probably missed four or five… @ Atlanta, @ Dallas, @ Memphis, vs. Phoenix.
Fearthesword.com: "There is no doubt that the long layoff, combined with the ease of the first two rounds had the Cavaliers a bit tired in the 4th quarter."
