I´m fan of Unicaja Málaga

who is your favorite team in this round?
what do you know of my team?

by vivaunicaja2006 on May 23, 2009 9:05 AM PDT reply actions

Portland owns the draft rights to Gran Canaria’s Joel Freeland, so I’ve been rooting for them.

Omar Cook is a former Blazer.

I will recommend that you look at Carlos Cabezas

Yes, from watching the team, I felt that Cabezas was a very good player.

Rubio is going to have problems guarding the pick and roll in the NBA

I don't think so....

at least not any more than anyone else in the league.

by as11osu on May 23, 2009 10:01 AM PDT up reply actions

let me clarify. I think Ricky will need to add a lot of strength to play NBA defense and defend the pick and roll. I think he’ll eventually be a very good defender.

Yeah Norskie

Ain’t that the truth. And with all the noise his camp is making about not playing in Memphis or OKC, that stuff will take on even more importance.

I missed a part of it shopping

Not really, but Cablinasian made a good emphasis that pick and roll defense is not his strength. He plays on-ball defense as a ball hawk and the passing lanes very well, but team defensive schemes might be something he will need time to adapt to in the NBA.

by Norsktroll on May 23, 2009 10:34 AM PDT up reply actions

His lack of strength is a problem

If he was 22 years old this would really concern me. He’s not even 19 yet. LOL

Plays into the questions about his strength and ability to fight through screens. On at least one play he wasn’t even aware a screen would likely come.

I expect it will take him 2 years to really adapt to the NBA

Most of em have to if they want to communicate with a good portion of their team. Not all are Americans, but plenty all speak, or understand, English, and speaking English is much easier if you have a Serbian on your team say.
