I hope Oden outdoes this one day..
from ESPN: CLEVELAND -- Superman did some major damage. Orlando center Dwight Howard knocked down the 24-second shot clock above the basket with a ferocious dunk the first time he touched the ball in Wednesday night's Eastern Conference final against the Cleveland Cavaliers. After grabbing a rebound, Howard went up underneath and slammed the ball through with both hands and pulled on the rim for Orlando's first basket. The 24-second stanchion, a 5-foot-tall appendage that has cameras mounted to its top, then fell slowly backward. A maintenance crew came out with ladders but couldn't fix the clock. The shot clock at the opposite end was turned off and two portable units were placed on both baselines. A tape measure was then brought out to check if Howard had pulled the rim lower than its required 10 feet. Play was stopped for eight minutes. The clock that Howard dropped was fixed at halftime and the teams began the second half with both units functioning. Damn.

Between that and the Orlando win, it's got to scare the poop out of Cleveland fans.
Of all the things that can be expressed in the printed word – love, hate, fear, joy – true humor is the one that is the most difficult of all. Sarcasm, for example, is an art of delicate subtlety. Yet too many people wield it as a bulldozer – loud, smelly, ugly, and destructive – and think they are being funny.

Bad move by Dwight
Orlando got crushed in the first half.
Clearly Orlando is a better team when the shot clock above the hoop is in working function. Cleveland would be smart to have a “malfunction” to them next game.

Oh and to out do it.
Some terrorist drops a bomb (set on a timer) into the Rose Garden. (We all know Portland is the first place terrorists would attack.) Oden rips the entire hoop out of the ground and uses it as a bat to swat the bomb into the river. He then tells Rudy to throw him a lob, which Oden rejects into the atmosphere, blowing up the terrorist plane on its way.

Seriously, who the hell cares?
I hope that oden can average a 15/12/3 in 35 mpg with fewer than 3.5 fouls per game, that’s what I hope. I hope he realizes that he doesn’t have to try a monster dunk every single time and therefore stops blowing simple easy dunks as frequently as he does. I hope he stops caring about stupid highlights with power dunks and power blocks and picks up a page from Tim Duncan.

If Oden goes 35mpg
His numbers better be above 15/12. He was at that per 35 minutes this season almost. I’d like to see at least a little improvement. Even 17/13 or something.

well, to carry over our little talk from the other thread, if he can do that
while averaging fewer than 3.5 fouls, I’d consider that a major improvement. Oh, and playing over 75 games. Those things happen and I’ll stop being so grumpy about the guy, deal?

Barter time!
Over 70 games. Even Shaq didn’t play 75+ in his prime. And the 3.5 fouls depends on minutes. If he averaged 4.2 fouls a game, but he played 34 minutes a game I’d be happy. Likewise, if he averaged 3.5 fouls a game in 20 minutes I’d be very sad. :-)
I get the idea though. No knee butting players and less fouling.

Well, not that lazy-shaq is the best model for our guy
but I’ll take 70+ games.
Don’t forget about the 3 blocks per 35, while fouling less than 3.5. That’s pretty key – he’s at around 2 blocks per 35 now, which is less than expected, and he slid down on those numbers significantly as the season progressed.
