I’ve long thought the deal that made the most sense for both teams with Hinrich was with Portland. Their GM is a Kansas guy like Hinrich and Steve Blake would be an ideal and cheaper backup combo guard. But the talk is the Trail Blazers will sign the 76ers Andre Miller as a free agent. Then they’ll use their extra pieces, perhaps including Blake, to make a deal for a banger up front. Then the 76ers would need a point guard, and that could be where Bibby goes if the 76ers lose Miller, which seems likely as the free agent boycotted the team’s final meetings.

He means that Blake can back up Rose, but also play as an off-guard next to him like he does now with Roy. Which is true.

Yep.
He plays guard and he shoots. Great spot up shooter while Roy handles the ball. Saw it all year.

the link doesn't work
but it says smith in it and if it is smith the bulls beat writer then nothing of it is credible seeing as how that guy is notorius for making stuff up.

I’d be good with either Hinrich or Miller, personally. I’d rather go with Hinrich, but Miller is very intriguing. His penetration and posting up would add a new dimension to the offense.

Deng and Hinrich for
Travis and Blake.
Please.

We don’t want Deng. He would only add to the “Frail Blazer” issue.
Look at Pelton’s analysis of Batum and Batum’s defense. He is the SF of the present and future. Book it.

Deng is years ahead offensively
But also expensive.

Rather defensively
Deng can’t shoot a lick from outside. Travis has taken and converted a multiple of his shot attempts.

he’s too expensive and doesn’t fit what we need in a SF. We have the time to be picky. Batum fits everything we need in a 3. Given his work ethic and that he is already working for next year, I expect rapid development in his offensive game.

why would the Blazers want Deng?
first of all, he has a very heavy contract, and second, they have Batum, which could be better than Deng

We would have the best starting 5 in the NBA
Along with our top 3 bench.
