BEdge Challenge: Brandon Bass

Does this team have room for another Brandon? Or this one in particular? You heard Roy call for a banger. This guy is definitely that. Would he be a better fit than Channing? Would he be happy with the minutes we'd have for him? Could we get him for a reasonable price via trade or free agency? All I ask is you try to contribute before you bash. Thanks for playing.

So far we've done Monta Ellis, Kirk Hinrich, LeBron James (thanks again tikiliki), Chris Andersen and Jason Terry (thanks jlarose78). Nice to see people getting into this. Try to keep it positive towards your fellow posters. Hate the game, if you must.

I hear he has good lateral quickness for a guy his size, too. ; )

Brandon Bass is an unrestricted free-agent, so technically the Dallas Mavericks can't "match" any ...

contract he signs elsewhere if that’s ends up being the case — which I doubt will happen — however, the team can re-sign him to a five-year deal worth a starting salary that’s equal to the mid-level exception, but with annual raises of 10.5% rather than just 8%.

Bass is a gas!

Bass is the perfect backup PF, someone who can get rebounds, plays energetic defense and can get to the line,

Offer him the MLE and plug him in.

No no no

Energetic defense is Ronny Turiaf or Chris Anderson. Bass is decent on defense. Where the heck do you think his D is “energetic”

Offseason:
Trade For Mike Conley Jr
Sign Antonio McDyess & Othello Hunter
Draft Kevin Seraphin/Edwin Jackson(Eurostash)

This post is two, lightweight paragraphs -- one a self-congratulatory review...

Very very “Thank You Posty”….

I happen to think Brandon Bass is a serious topic, but don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time — to research and write something interesting.

I like Bass

but I don’t think he fits team chemistry well. All that second hand marijuana smoke exposure from J-Ho….

they're not that bad

I like the chatter about other team’s players. calling it a ‘challenge’ though is a bit annoying. what exactly is the challenge here?

Yellow Mamba FTW!

The idea isn't bad, if somebody would spend an hour or two actually doing research, digging up stats, linking video, including photos, etc.

But I propose a limit of 0 of these per week if no one is willing to do that much.

That's what I am encouraging people to do...

…in the comment section. Instead of everybody making multiple posts about acquiring a particular player…figure out, once and for all, if it’s doable and let everybody hash out whether or not it’s a good idea.

Yeah, my main problem with these Fan Posts is that there's no substance.

Now, when there’s an overabundence of these fluff pieces, I get visibly frustrated.

We should get Maggette

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
