Wait! Which one do I click if I want him to stay?

The first one
I didn’t have to read any further than that.
How much is Shav set to get next year?
If its anything more than $1.5M I say he goes.

If I am reading the minimum salary chart
at Larry Coon’s Cap FAQ right, then Shav’s salary has to be upwards of ~$960Gs. He probably won’t get much more than a minimum deal.
I'm sure there's another white kid from Dook
who deserves his shot as the 15th man.
Josh M, Shavlik…. who’s next? Is Singler coming out this year?
I have not yet begun to defile myself.

Of course he should stay.
He is important to Blazers’ Edge as Channing Frye is to all of Portland – they are the windows through which we can see all the players – even get to know them all a little bit. Thanks Shav (and Channing). – Elgin

Looking at the O-Live vote ...
… it appears pretty obvious that a large number of Portland fans fall either into the grass is greener category or the I don’t really have a clue category – or both.
Both Randolph and Ruffin offer a good deal of what so many here have said Portland needs at PF. Mike is a solid defender and good rebounder. Shav brings some pretty decent offensive skills and I suspect would be a decent to good rebounder.
People, myself included, like David Lee and picture him as the perfect backup 4. Well, I tend to believe we may already have that guy in Shav. Besides, Lee isn’t going to want to be a bench player when he’s already earned a starting spot and he is going to be a lot more expensive than Randolph. Personally, I don’t think he’s going anywhere. I suspect Kevin Pritchard knows exactly what he has in Randolph and plans to keep him.

We should call these guys appendix and tonsils. It won’t do any harm to keep them around, but they won’t be missed if they are gone.
I appreciate what Shav has done, and Ruff. But I won’t lose sleep if neither is on the roster next year.
I know less than half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
Shav and Ruffin suck there’s a reason that haven’t been able to beat Channing for the limited reserve minutes at powerforward, even ike passed channing for one game. Shav, nope couldn’t even do that. Ruffin, nope couldn’t do it either.

good call, man
I’ve never been sold on Shav. Seems like a decent enough kid, but, yeah. Channing beat him out…
Does that say more about Channing, Shav, or Nate?

I don’t know how he looked in practices, but in garbage time he looked way better than a 15th man. Though I also think Frye was a very consistent jump-shooter after the all-star break, so there’s your reason for ignoring my opinion if you need one. I think Frye will be a great backup for a perimeter team, and Shav will be a decent backup PF when he gets time to prove himself.
Why would he want to stay?
I’m sure he wants to find a team that will actually play him.
There’s no guarantee that he’s good enough, but it seems possible (see Wafer, Von).
It seems like everybody that leaves Portland does ok...

Couldn't vote on your pole because he should get the boot. Bring Steven Hill back, that guy was a beast

It's a community thing
Shav and his friend LetsBlaze who accompanied the team on some road trips have been interesting for the Blazer’s Edge community last season to get closer to the team. Yes, likely he wouldn’t even want to stay because he can play more elsewhere and that is better for his career like for Frye to move on. But after his chat Ben thanked him and declared him the "Power Forward of the Future", and so at least he deserves some support from us, right? Oregonlive lobbed him together with Ruffin who was here since February while he was here since training camp in their "You Be The GM" series and didn’t post one of the usual guest articles arguing the stay or go decision/fan voting. So I alerted Ben to that, because he was more than an afterthought to our community. It was interesting to have that contact, and the site will be a bit poorer next season if/when that connection is gone. Hope that explains.

why not keep him?
he’s cheap and he’s better then most people’s 14th or 15th man, also he was on BEdge so he is now a fan favorite. all signs point to stay

Maybe the best thing for Shav
Would be to sign with the Bobcats and get some burn,we could still go over to their blog and help Letsblaze show them how the big kids do it. I would be only mildly suprised to see him back here next year

I Will Say Go Bye Bye See Ya
It seems that everyone's real problem is they just don't drink enough coffee. They lose their edge, lose track of their priorities, and end up sleeping a third of their life away.
I don't like dookies
That and the fact that he’s not really able to contribute anything basketball-wise are two reasons why I won’t miss him in the least.
The fact that bedgers desperately want to keep Randolph around when he gives us nothing whatever, but would throw TO away for a second round pick despite being our third leading scorer speaks to some sort of pathology. TO is a good citizen, too.
Let’s stay sane. There are literally hundreds of guys who could be our 15th option and 5th PF. Most of them wouldn’t bring that annoying Duke Tude with them, too (bonus!). The only good thing I can say about Randolph is that he hasn’t gotten arrested.
this is sad
BE was strong enough to sway the vote in kings of the court…yet we can’t take over an OLive poll?

Talk about coming to a party late.... :-)
I natuarally had to abstain in the rough choice above ..
but it’s an interesting place for me cause I am realizing in a way all my hours at the keyboard – - and watchin bad feeds from china for obscure pre-season games…have added something unique to your experience of this remarkable group this season…
More than that …Thanks for making my season infinitely more enjoyable – - without this community to share this with, I would not have had a fraction as much fun…
Whats gonna happen from here is gonna play out between Shav and the team..I’m going to say absolutely nothing about it until my buddy’s next season is sewn up…
The O-live stuff is interesting cause I don’t feel I know those people, so I’m curious about the impression…comments actually less brutal than expected
I know Shav is always trying to make sure to convey his love of the game, appreciation for the opportunity to be a part of the league and the team, and aknowledgement of the importance of the role of the sport in the community . . .
I hope my occasional rantings haven’t contributed negatively . . . but I have tred to be real clear that I’m not representing anything but my own opinions unless I specifically say otherwise…
So we wait and see …
