it's just getting started
i was at the immaculate new 1.5 billion dollar yankee stadium last night.and on my way to work a guy said to me,hey bigman at least your team future is very bright.and after last night lost,i just shrugged it off as a learning experience for the blazers.this is a team that the national nba shills(media)some fel why they're even in the playoffs.what saddens me more about the lack of respect the blazers are getting nationally is now how the nba shills are hyping up the r.artest preaising b.roy angle.the shills should just let it go!!damn artest just repects the fact that roy is a class act on and off the court.in my opinion kobe can go to hell,i don't give a damn about how upset he's going to be over artest's comments.my message to the nba is,get use to the blazers are a perrenial playoff team.the way tnt did'nt even have the respect to show the 1.st half of the blazers game on tbs to me spoke valumes.blazers fans as 1 we all should give these young kids a standing ovation.for them to go 54-28,without any contributions from a m.webster or g.oden all year is a great sign for this team.the shills better stop dissing and start getting to know aldridge rudy and b.roy for many years to come.they better get to very friendly with the chef's and waitresses at ringside jake's grill and the chop house.because we're just getting started america.blazermania is back and this time, with a couple of tweaks here and there.this team will blaze many of trails to hopefully a title or 2,in the next 5-7 year window.get uese to the ushers and userettes and the cotton candy and lemonade at the r.garden.beccause you people are going to be there for at least the next 7 springs.and get to know the fans who faces you're going to see every spring.from clearly the best sports fans in all of n.america.it's just getting started america, the age of blazernation book it!!!!!

Fatty does a complete flip flop and the site loves him.
I just don’t understand…

When I first started reading Bedge (a few months ago) I thought fatty was a blazer hater troll.
But he seems to actually like them.

Fatty's actually sort of a legend with the old-timers
Look up some of the old posts about him. He banned himself for a year when Oden had surgery. His absence was a hot topic.

I know he is a legend
I just don’t understand it. I don’t wanna hate, but I’ve seen the same 4 posts from Fatty 100 different times, and when he posts something that many other people have posted, it gets reced like crazy.
I guess it’s just unfathomable to me that a guy gets this popular by ignoring the use of punctuation, capitals, etc.
by Zaig on May 1, 2009 2:23 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Here's a timeline
Important Fatty Attributes:
- Fatty has horrible grammar/punctuation that makes it incredibly hard to read his posts
- Fatty usually knows what he is talking about
- Fatty says whatever the heck is on his mind
- Fatty used to be much more arrogant, he used to post as if his thoughts were “the absolute truth”, he’s backed off to “clearly the most obvious conclusion” (I guess a self imposed year long vacation for being wrong will do that to you)
The Timeline:
- Fatty starts posting
- Some members flame him for his writing and arrogance
- Other people defend him because they don’t care about that stuff and he usually makes good points
- Fatty becomes an incredibly polarizing figure
— Sub arguments often rage about whether we should like him or not
— People get divided in to “like fatty” and “don’t like fatty” camps, often very strongly
- While fatty is gone, every mention of him brings the argument up again
- Fatty becomes a legend
- Fatty comes back, with punctuation and grammar mostly as bad as ever (saw a few posts from him that were randomly an exception though), but a lot less of his edge that rubbed people the wrong way, he also doesn’t post nearly as much
- People that weren’t here for the pre-break fatty don’t really get it, but the old war rages on

Well done Garg.
But it is worth noting how much he has mellowed.
And the Houston love seems gone.
Bedge or go home.

I think it's more simple than that.
When the team wasn’t as good, fatty was blunt about pointing out their weaknesses. Bedgers didn’t like that. The team is better now which fatty is pointing out. Bedgers love that.
Some thought he was a Houston fan. Not so, he just predicted last last year they had the best chance at winning it all. Of course Yao going down messed up that prediction.

The one classic moment you didn't mention...
Accusations that fatty was actually Dave drumming up the controversy to increase hits on the website. It started as a joke, with most people anyway, and added significantly to the legend.

I don't know if fatty is able to do this still...
(with the number of contributors we now have) or if he even did it with everyone in the past but in my case, we got into some heated arguments for a while, long ago, that led to great discussions if not always agreement. The intitial contact with fatty can be prickly and quite frustrating but I have found him to be nothing but a Blazer fan with strong opinions and a typing style that is understandable and yet infuriating to some people. Even with all his talk of bringing in someone from the federal prison system to bring toughness to the team, he believes, or at least he used to, in the process of bringing in character guys to be the core of the team.
As for the flip flop stuff, I assume you mean that he is now posting something positive instead of his recent string of negative postings. I guess my history is long enough with him that I can tell you he has posted many positive posts in the past. This is probably why the recent negative postings have not been as annoying to me and other people who have been here a while and have been in the “like fatty” camp.
The best way I can describe fatty is that he is like a stinky cheese that repels some people immediately with its strong odor. But for those that can handle the odor and go on to test the cheese and combine it with a variety of breads and fruits and wines, they discover there are other properties to the cheese than its strong odor that can be quite enjoyable.

because...
I wanted to say something like “why would I finish reading this if I am not into ripping all my toe-nails off for fun” because that is what reading even the first part of a fatty post is like….
I guess that is a compliment on some levels… or at least fatty will take it that way.
