quick poll: Portlands most hated laker?

Currently I lie in LA and being a basketball fan I watch the lakers and clippers alot because they are on tv every night.  There is  one thing I have noticed while watching the lakers play other teams play the Lakers beside the blazers.  Almost in every NBA arena; with the exception of Boston, Denver, Utah and Cleveland, there is a considerable amount of laker support, in fact you here a lot of cheers for them during a big play.  Nothing ticks me off more.  The greatest part of being a blazers fan is we are breed with a hate for the Lakers and have the only stadium with the Chant "kobe sucks."  My question to all of blazer nation "Besides Kobe, Who is our most hated laker"

My nasty L*ker 5

1. K*be
2. Vujacic
3. Rick F*x
4. tie between Phil and Odom
5. L*ker fans in the RG, especially the one who was talking smack to our section when his team was down 25.

Hit it. Yes he did. Ohhhh yeah.

because of all the charging fouls never called when he smashed into arvydas sabonis. terrible, terrible calls, again and again.

shaq had skills, he didnt need that edge to compete. it was ugly to see.

Yeah, but you heart taxes too.

So please be a fan of the Blazers’ enemy too.

by Ojala John on Apr 9, 2009 3:37 PM PDT up reply actions

They are no more the Blazers' enemy than any other team.

I don’t root for any of them, any more or less than the Lakers.

Just because I don’t have some delusional image of any real rivalry between between Portland and LA, doesn’t mean that I am a “fan” of the enemy.

I heart taxes.

by everett on Apr 9, 2009 6:36 PM PDT up reply actions

Okay, enemy's too strong.

But I think it’s perfectly appropriate to recognize that there is a real rivalry in the opinions of Blazer fans, and that over the next couple of years the nation will see it as so as well.

Deluded seems as overstated as “enemy.” I dont think it’s deluded to feel that a rivalry is reigniting; we’ve done okay against Kobe and his supporting cast in the RG of late.

Bedge or go home.

Ariza!

"Great Oden's raven!" - Ron Burgandy

by danevan on Apr 9, 2009 3:14 PM PDT reply actions

On the current squad

1. Kobe, everything about him.
2. Phil, the epitome of smug.
3. Sasha, just look at him.
4. Odom, thug.
5. Ariza, actually liked him before the Rudy incident.
6. Walton, he has no reason to be cocky, yet he is.
7. Mbenga, seems like a goon.

Other than those guys, I actually like the rest of the Lakers. Fisher and Farmar both seem like good guys. Morrison is a NW kid. I also like Tex Winter and Kurt Rambis.

by koyote on Apr 9, 2009 3:15 PM PDT reply actions

Odom...

…then Phil, Kobe, Shaq, Fox, Horry, Ariza, Gasol, Fisher. After that, I hate all the Lakers equally back to the teams’ inception.

Vooyuchitch, Gasol. That pretty much does it for me for current L*kers.

Hated Rick Fox though. Remember the movie “Coming to America” where the people with the jeri-curls would get up and leave a grease stain on the seats or walls where their heads were resting? Rick Fox left grease stains wherever he went.

time doesnt heal that hatred

Other than death and taxes, only 4 things in this world are indisputable:
Brandon Roy is the BEST player in the NBA in the clutch.
Montana to Rice were the greatest to ever play the game.
The Four Horsemen of Maddux, Smoltz, Glavine and Avery were unstoppable.
No one protects the pipes like Luongo.

No but seriously, Sasha is hands down my least favorite Laker. Even more so than Kobe. He drives me absolutely insane and his extreme flopping is ruining the physicality of the game.

Can I get a headband? One for my peeps, one for the fans in the really cheap seats, one for my momma, one for the mayor, and if you wanna get down with the players, YOU GOTTA GET A HEADBAND!

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside.
